The movie we saw was pretty entertaining, too. We were in a small theater seating maybe 40 people including several for handicapped visitors. The seats recline easily and we liked that. There is a large attached swing arm that holds drinks and food. The concessions aren't cheap (were they ever?): Popcorn prices are between $9-13 depending on size, drinks $7 and $8. Free refills come with the largest sizes. Matinee tickets are $11. You can buy tickets online or at the theater. The men's restroom was spotless, the women's room a little less so, but not dirty. Overall a good experience.

Where they showed Movies in the upstairs section. In 1927 wad known as the Millerton theatre There's a very nice lounge with a café and art gallery upstairs It was converted into four screens. Screen one has 154 seats. Screen two has 142 seats screen three has 136 seats and the screening room has 38 seats. When you walk in the front doors, the concession stand is up in front of you. To the left and right our poster cases with current movies on the left side and classic films on the right side The young lady behind the concession stand. Was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a large popcorn and green iced tea. I was coming for a screening of the movie Network . On September 24. That exact date is mentioned in the movie. I went up the very staircase steps to the second floor, where the movie was playing in theater 3. There is an elevator so you don't have to navigate those steep steps going up or down The lounge area was very nice looking, retro. I looked into the little screening room across from the bar down a little hallway. It had a pretty good size screen and comfortable seat seats. I picked a seat in the middle section of the theater. Which has a nice ambience. The screen is a very good size as well. The projection of crisp and clear. Very good sound system as well. I'm a big supporter of these independent historic downtown theaters. The look and feel of this theater was different from other theaters. like the Orpheum theater in Saugerties or Upstate Films/Rhinebeck/Saugerties . I would say it felt more luxurious. The café area had a couch that looks like it came from the 1950s One can buy a membership to support the Theatre. As it's a nonprofit Theatre now. This Theatre is a GEM in the downtown of Millerton. They have special screenings like network. As well as when the director of an independent film will come on a Saturday afternoon to do a question and answer session. Stop at one of the restaurants in town before or after a movie. The Moviehouse will definitely be a destination that I will be going back to several times a year.

The staff had no idea what was going on or how to serve a large crowd. It was complete chaos in the theater, and no one had any idea what order the guests had arrived in. After sitting for 30 minutes with no acknowledge from the staff while we witnessed 15 others who arrived after us being given menus, then drinks, and some already receiving their dinner orders, we decided to leave. The manager was contacted to refund our ticket price. He agreed but seemed unconcerned about what was going on upstairs in the theater. Our matinee movie ticket was $13. Candy was $6 per item. We passed on the popcorn. The bathrooms did not seem very clean, and one of the faucets was broken. Entering the theatre and walking up to our seats at the top, the stairs were soo dark I tripped, and we ended up having to use our flashlights to find our seats, because the row and numbers for the seats were missing (we were the only ones in the room at that point). We finally counted to where our seats were, and the recliners did not work. The leather was cracked. No one told us these seats were out of order. We tried some next to them, same thing. Thankfully it was not a busy showing and we were able to find seats that were unoccupied and working. But it seems crazy to me that they are ok selling a regular-priced ticket for a broken and cracked recliner. The overall quality and sound of the movie playing, however, was good.
