I was able to make an appointment the very next day which was nice as it was my day off. For a very odd procedure, they made it very comfortable (as it could be I suppose.) Our experience at Colonics by the Sea was amazing! I know that's really weird to say considering that we got a colonic's...but it truly was. My step mom and I were first timers and extremely nervous. We knew it was something we needed to do but we had a lot of fear going into it. Shari immediately put us both at ease and had us laughing and totally comfortable. She is actually located in Lemon Grove now, tucked in a quiet collaborative practice with other services available, such as reflexology and massages. I would definitely NOT go back! I went two times and the first time wasn't bad. The second time Shari didn't leave me on the machine long enough and I had more bowel to release. When I went on the toilet a lot more came out and I clogged up her toilet. I thought I could just leave it, but then I thought NO I needed to tell her. So, she came in and she didn't even have a plunger! Then she told me we had to clean it out so she wouldn't get in trouble with the management for plumbing problems! Then she asked if I wanted a rubber glove and gave me a plastic cup and told me to scoop out the toilet and put it in the garbage container! What the heck!!?? If you are going to be in the business of crap, why would you have your customer clean it up!! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL in my opinion! But, that's just my opinion, you can decide for yourself if you want to go to her. read more

My fiance' had been constipated for several weeks. He had tried enemas, stool softeners and even magnesium citrate no no avail. I suggested hydro colon therapy and he went to Shari. The offices are neat, clean and well appointed. Shari is warm, friendly and explained everything clearly. Although he was hesitant - he agreed to the procedure. I purchased a Groupon and I called to set up my first appointment. She was very polite on the phone explaining that she was with a guest, asked my name and that I should come at 4 o'clock the following day. The location is very hard to find. My GPS brought me to the right place, but there are no signs anywhere indicating the name of the business. Not even on the door or window of the shop. This made me uneasy. The door was locked when I got there, and she called and explained she was running late. She had set up the appointment time with me, then failed to show up giving me excuses why she was late. I waited 15 minutes and I left. This is a delicate procedure for first time clients, and I didn't feel that she was very professional or her business looked professional from the outside. This is a delightful lady ready & willing to help you! I only spoke with her, I haven't been in yet. But you have to LOL at the 2 star review. Most MDs know nothing about anything that isn't a drug or surgery or outside of their specialty. Of course her Dr. told her what he did. I guarantee you she wasn't lied to. This woman is a specialist in her field with 18 years of experience. Migraines are complex so don't think any one time treatment (except a surgical implant) will cure migraines. A good Chiropractor like Gary Dixon will use his hands & pull on my gallbladder, & that's next to your liver. Don't let one persons lack of knowledge deter you from trying something different that can't hurt you. The location being listed as "La Mesa" on Yelp is confusing to me.
