Pool area, dining under the awning.

Went to hear Janet and her band by the pool and had dinner. We first had the truffle chips which were wonderful. They were served warm and crispy with a lovely spicy dip. Next, we had a couple of different types of salads, both were delicious. I had grilled chicken on mine which was tender juicy and very tasty. The cocktails and drinks were great! The music lasted from 4 to 7 PM. They were families there with children call them dancing around the band Which was very cute. A wonderful way to spend the afternoon. I'm looking forward to doing it again

We stayed at the Colony Hotel over Fourth of July weekend. It's a historic hotel that offered a great pool, lovely main building, and delicious food. Unfortunately, our room's decor and comfort level did not match the feel of the main building. We were given a room in the Galland House, and it was very much like a cabin - complete with knotted pine paneling, and some of the ugliest furniture and window treatments I have ever seen. It looks like it hasn't been updated in at least 50 years. The door to the Galland House was unlocked, and made us feel like we were staying in a motel. We also heard a thumping, mechanical noise throughout the night. The Colony Hotel has a lot going for it, but there is also a lot of room for improvement. I would recommend that guests investigate which rooms are the nicest before booking.

We had our wedding here this past weekend and it was well worth every penny. Outside of it being a beautiful location and venue, the staff is what makes it 5 Stars. Caite the wedding planner was amazing. She is well organized, and responded quickly, especially the week of the wedding. Any questions I had were answered. The rest of the staff was also top notch. Their positive and bubbly personalities were contagious, even during stressful moments the days before the wedding. We especially loved Busiswa, who attended to my family the day of wedding and the night before, and our server Richard, who attended to my husband and I during our reception. The rest of the staff was incredible as well but we unfortunately did not get on a name to name basis with them, yet! The venue has gorgeous views and beautiful landscaping in the garden. Everywhere was clean and well maintained. The rooms feature beautiful floral wallpaper, perfect for pictures. I also appreciated the two types of pillows provided, one firmer and one softer on each bed space. Ideal for every person's preference. Upon arrival we were offered champagne (husband declined and I'm still unsure as to why lol). All of our guests raved about how nice the hotel was and how great the food was. Personally was shocked by how big the portions were on top of the how high quality the food was. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. My husband won't stop talking about the breakfast sausages and how much he loved them. I will be recommending this place to everyone for years to come. We look forward to coming back and creating more memories.

Accommodating, helpful and very friendly staff. We bought some fresh oysters down east but hadn't thought of the oyster knife. Asked the manager if, by chance we could possibly borrow an oyster knife? Well, due to liability issues, they would not allow me to borrow the knife but offered to have the chef shuck them for us (after signing a waiver!.....I hate where our country is, but totally understand!). We listened to live piano to relax us during a raining and "trafficy" day driving from down east and Acadia national park. Just one mile down the road from Walker's point (The Bush compound) I was really hoping that we might run into 'W' and Mrs. but to no avail. The room was well appointed and a corner room with beautiful views of the chanel. Picture commercial lobster boats moored at bouys as the tides rise and fall with the hours going by. A rainy day to start lead to clear skies and a beautiful bluebird sky with white puffy clouds to accent. Breakfast buffet included in the stay along with free bikes to use as guest made our stay complete. I only wish we had more time to spend here at the resort! Huge thanks for making our stay complete and fabulous!! Cheers to you all. Oh, I almost forgot, they have a shuttle that runs out to dock square every half hour. What a blessing.

Plus, it was a bit noisy at 7am -I could hear the people on the floor above me using the bathroom and creaking floors when they walked; I could also hear them putting out breakfast in the sunroom below with the clanging of the dishes and the doors closing. If you prefer to stay at a bed-and-breakfast, then this might be a good place for you. The house was nicely furnished; my Junior suite was clean and fairly comfortable (although for some odd reason, the furniture was unusually low to the ground), and it was interesting from a historical perspective. It just really wasn't my style. One last FYI if you decide to stay there - there's no yard or street signage at any of the houses except the Nathaniel Lord Mansion - I drove around in circles looking for the Jefferds house.....

You're going to slog your luggage to your room yourself, perhaps in the rain or snow, from the parking lot, and most likely up a flight or, heaven forbid you booked one of the rooms on the third floor, up 2 flights of stairs. There always appeared to be just one staff person at the hotel, handling the front desk. The inn is very convenient to dock square. We only drove to dinner one night, the rest of the stay we had quite nice meals within a block or so of the hotel. We stayed in the perkins suite on the second floor. Nice sized room. Roomy bathroom, good shower, decent counter space and several drawers. Felt clean and new, like it had been remodeled not long ago. You knew you were in an older hotel, but the room was clean and well kept. Comfortable seating in front of the TV. They've upgraded to a larger TV than shows on many pictures. It was easy to pull out from the wall and switch out the hotel cable feed for our own streaming device. Plenty of convenient outlets. Good sized fridge. Bed comfortable and room can be kept reasonably dark and cold. A small missed opportunity not having a few more pieces of furniture in the room. There was plenty of available space where they could have put a small desk for working, a bench at the foot of the bed, or a floor lamp for evening lighting. All of these would have not crowded the room and would have made the stay more pleasant. Continental breakfast provided is very basic. If you want to be in the midst of Kennebunkport action, it's a good place to stay. But there are many other great options in the area, and the lack of service, especially around help with check in/out is enough to prevent us from ever returning.

She was full of recommendations (i.e. Goose Rocks Beach) and was friendly and kind without being overbearing. We showed up a bit late and the key was left in a coded lock box for us. The room was compact, but fine for my husband and I for our 2 night stay. We knew beforehand that breakfast would be boxed for us and that was fine. I was happy that they provided yogurt was Chobani and actually had some protein in it (unlike most continental breakfasts that are a carb party). We rented bikes and kayaks during our stay. It was great that they had these for us to utilize. The bikes should be covered during storage, however. They were a bit rusty. This was the priciest place that we stayed during our 7 night trip, but I wouldn't consider it the best. After our stay, I do feel that our stay should not have cost us so much.

The room was beautiful and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was a little tight on space and the toilet is right next to the door so is a little awkward. Modern power plugs convenient to the bed were not in evidence. There was a sitting chair but no where to sit and eat or to work. The desk folks were very nice and helpful with local suggestions for eating and things to do. ***VERY not happy with the continental breakfast. You shouldn't list yourself as a B&B and have continental breakfast. Being a B&B implies hot breakfast... period!*** Not only that, there was hardly anything on it... there was only orange juice, coffee, and tea... no apple or any other kind of juice. There was yogurt and fruit but there was only one kind of cereal (Cheerios), only 2 kinds of bread... white and wheat... No pastries, muffins, bagels, croissants, rolls, English muffins, doughnuts, etc. To be fair, I think there was oatmeal and there was banana bread that was pretty good. The one good thing I can say about the breakfast is that it was available at 7:30am instead of 8:30 like some of the other B&Bs we stayed at on this trip. ***Almost all of the other reviews of this place had HOT breakfast on them so I guess we were just ripped off.*** I would love to give this place a great review and I would probably have come back if it weren't for the breakfast ripoff.
