The one thing they could have done better is actually have lights and a computer at the the packet pick up " It's 2012 and paper is dead " said Cecelia - she was right. We had to use our iPhone lights to help the staff. The other is to have the Medals table fully staffed for the whole event - I was in the last wave and had to go fish my own medal out of a box and many people did not get them because the staff already left - probably at Wet Willies. I will be doing this event again next year - I suggest you check it out. I am thinking UYE Sports event !!

Third, this did not earn five stars because they did not plan well for the packet pick ups; they were disorganized and unprepared for the large crowd. A friend of mine picked up my packet the day before, so I had to wait a long time for my team-members to pick up theirs. I finally got annoyed enough to force my volunteerism...yep..I went behind the table and helped them disseminate the packets. They struggled with finding names on a list, because...wait for it...no one thought to have lights at the tent for a night time event. Beside the above debacle ...this was so fun..and I actually improved in my time- even with a cold. I met lots of fun people and the music was great. I will recommend this for teams and veterans...first timers may feel a bit overwhelmed with running on the sand and the lack of cheerleaders on the path.

There's no intercom system to tell kids to return for cake to a birthday party room, which is stressful for all involved. I don't understand how the video games work; I bought an unlimited pass for the day, and apparently this does not include unlimited games. The video game use went by very very fast. The pass does include unlimited 'attractions.' My kids waited a long time in the gokart line only to be told they were too short to ride. So we skipped that. The bumper cars are an attraction- I think? It only has 6 or 7 cars and the space is very small. The water bumper boats are a similar number, so waits are long, and each boat has a water squirter on it...everyone who exited the round with my kids left soaking wet, including my kids. Glad we did this last. The mini-golf has no employee monitoring of entering or exiting, so I could go in with my kids without participating. It is on the older side, but my kids had fun. There are carved out rocks, waterways, and at one point the course goes under a waterfall. It looks like there are 2 courses to play. My kids enjoyed laser tag. I sat outside in the laser tag waiting room; there are 4 cameras mounted showing the activity within, which I appreciate as a parent. Note to self: have kids wear striped shirts so I can find them on the screens! I'm uncertain if there is an employee inside with the kids, and this is for all ages, in a dark enclosed place. I didn't like that my kids seemed alone in the pre-tag enclosed room, as I would have preferred to supervise them.

My child and her friends had a blast from start to finish…read more Unfortunately, one of the kids did get hurt, but the manager handled the situation exceptionally well. He came over and made sure everything was okay, provided an ice pack, and was very comforting and attentive. That level of care really stood out to me. The facility itself was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. This location did seem a little less busier than the location in Davie however, towards the end of the day, it does pick up a little bit. I also really liked that they offer adult beverages liquor, wine, and canned drinks which gives parents a chance to relax a bit while the kids play. The fun bites were fresh, sweet, and crispy definitely a highlight. They also have Dippin' Dots (one of my favorites), and those did not disappoint. We ordered pizza, chicken tenders, and fries as well those were just okay, nothing special, but the kids enjoyed them. Pricing was reasonable overall. Just note that socks are required and need to be purchased, and jumping is charged by the hour. Some attractions like the zip line and arcade games come with additional fees. I really appreciated the designated area for kids under five it's a safe space where little ones can play without worrying about bigger kids.

The room wasn't ready when we showed up to decorate. Party plans were made ahead of time, including food purchases, but over half of the stuff we ordered never was made/failed to show up. Waivers were submitted online beforehand by a large number of our guests, but they insist they didn't receive any of them, so everybody had to fill and submit them again (taking away from their play time, which is timed). We had younger kids at the party (10 and under), so we asked to have the pizzas double-cut, into smaller slices... but they refused, and we had to run down the street into the Dollar Tree to get a pizza cutter, to then double cut it ourselves. We ran out of pitchered drinks multiple times, and I had to bring the pitchers back to get refilled, as they pretty much never/barely checked up on us throughout the party. It would have been cheaper and more sensible to go to eat elsewhere either after or beforehand... Maybe just pay regular admission and try bringing a cake, if they'll let you in with it. Having the parents buy their Groupon offer, and then reimbursing them, would have made more sense for a party and saving money.

There was entertainment along almost every single nook and cranny of the run- singers, dancers, DJs, bands, etc and a fringe benefit to running up and down 8st was that I got to see/find a lot of the restaurants I'd been reading about on here, but had yet to go to like Le Baguette and a Mexican taco place! The fact that the night was cool and crisp paired with the fact that there was beer at the finish line made me run faster than ever. There was paella at the finish line too, but really....all I cared about was the beer. This has been my favorite race to date. I can't wait to do the hooker run...i mean...calle ocho run...again next year!

I participated in the annual Wings For Life World Run for the first time this past weekend and will…read moredefinitely attend again if I can make it! What makes this walk/run so different from others is that there is no set distance. Everyone starts running at the same time and after 30 minutes, a "catcher car" starts driving at 9 miles per hour. When the car gets to you, you stop and a shuttle transports you back to the start. I personally made it ten miles before getting caught, while the professionals made it as far as 55. Yes, 55 MILES. The other really cool thing about this race is that it happens at the same time all over the world. We get lucky in Florida with the race starting at 7:00 am. It starts at 4:00 am in California, 9:00 pm in Australia, and so on. There is a live broadcast of all the races to see before/after. The event is put on by Red Bull with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Spinal Cord Research. Early sign up costs $25 and it goes up to $50 until race day. As you might guess, there is lots of Red Bull on hand (even at the water stations along the course). They also had Evian, Michelob Ultra beer, champagne, food from a local Mexican restaurant, and activations like Ice Cryo doing cryotherapy for afterwards. Of course, everyone got a shiny medal! Long story short, definitely check this event out if you like running anywhere from 3 to 60 miles. It's unlike any other racing experience!
