Why the two stars? The facility has two tracks one for kids and one for adults. Track was nice however, brought my grandchild and wanted to race with her but not allowed because the track she was on was for kids only. If I wanted to ride, had to go on the adults track. It's a very organized go kart area , each race is around $28 but you also have to pay a different fee if it's your first time , they also have arcade games which is fun to do after you race , each race has about 15 laps , so it was fun , they have booster seats if you're small like me ! So that was fun ! Overall it is fun! I've been to K1 speed a few times and it has always been fun. Parking is a little tricky if your parking adjacent to Stirling. But they have more around the back as well. We were a group who did the package where we have a qualifier race and then a final at the end. Qualifier is based on the fastest lap time and then the final is an actual race where you're positioned in the order of the qualifier. Loved that setup as it made it more fun when racing in the final. Both races were 12 laps each. The staff were all really friendly and explained the rules well. The go carts were pretty fast. They are electric carts and like the electric ones better than the gas powered ones. The course is a little tight, I wish the adult side was a little bigger. But it's still big enough to have a good time. read more

This is a decent place to have a bit of fun. I can definitely see kids having a great time here. The karts are pretty fast so that's great. But, with all of the turns in the track it makes for a bit of an annoying course. We pay to go fast! So if you have to turn every two seconds it gets a bit annoying. They say no bumping, but I was bumped six times. Five of which were by the same person who intentionally did this and the staff never flagged her with the "no bumping" sign. Her bumping caused my cart to shut off. It was so annoying. The arcade was okay. We thought there would be more games, but there weren't many. Can never go wrong with Galaga and Ms.Pacman! The basketballs were deflated, but good enough to play with I guess. For your first time the best value is to buy the speed pass. You get the K1 license, two races, and can choose from a tshirt/hat/$10 arcade card. Also, they spray the inside of the helmets with Clorox. I have mixed feelings in this. Lol. On one hand I'm happy they are sanitizing the helmets even though they give you a hat/helmet sock. So you know it's "clean". On the other hand you are literally breathing in chemicals. It's kind of suffocating. All in all this is a cool place, but I'd rather go to Xtreme. read more

My 8 year old daughter loves this place but it scares the heck out of me because she's a speed demon and loves to go fast. Thank you to the car attendants for slowing her down because she is constantly spinning out! lol I'm a helicopter mom so this place scares me but my kid loves it so we will be back. I paid $143 for two races for two people with two t-shirts and $12 two different times for 15 minute massages in chains that we couldn't enjoy because they called our names to race and insisted that we race when they called our names. I recently went to K1 Speed with a group of friends to enjoy the thrill of electric Go Kart racing. It was fantastic!! They put me in a large kart at my request because I don't think I could have fit into the smaller one. The staff was very helpful but they explained the rules and operating procedures so fast that I'm sure I missed some of it. But no matter, the important thing is right foot accelerator, left foot brake and don't push them at the same time or you'll stall out. They fitted me with a nice large helmet for my big head and away I went. It was a fantastic rush speeding through the course at what felt like breakneck speed to keep up with the other energetic racers. You have to keep right so that others can pass you if they are faster, but I held my own! I'm so glad that I raced the Go Kart! It was an incredible amount of fun. K1 Speed is a great place to fly like the wind safely! Go and have a fabulous time!!! read more

I came as part of a group event, where we generally came in staggered which might explain why the extent of the briefing I got was 'get into that car, and we'll start shortly', as some people were already racing by then. I tried my best to squint and read the general rules written on a sign on the wall at least. A quick rundown of the kart might've prevented me from feeling my vehicle had an issue as it kept cutting out, but it was simply a slight technique issue I found out about on the last lap. I could've gone again, which would've been smoother I'm sure. The facilities themselves are pretty good, there's plenty of other things to entertain people while they're waiting around. I bought a game card, although if there was a sign telling you how much you got for your money I certainly didn't see one. The machines all seem to be set at 4 credits each, but I have no idea how many credits my $5 got me. I played a few things and it didn't seem to have run out so I can't complain about the value. The machines for the most part need better servicing though, pretty much all I tried exhibited issues, from the card scanner not working or a malfunctioning to some degree. If I was asked to come back again, I'd probably do so but it probably wouldn't be a place I'd suggest myself. I don't have kids, who I'm sure would have a great time here, and I live a lot closer to Xtreme Action Park which seems to offer similar things and more, although it's definitely a more chaotic environment. read more

I came in on a Sunday around 1pm. The registration process went rapidly and smoothly. They had plenty of computers and the front desk staff was very attentive in signing us up. I will say there weren't a ton of customers when we arrived so I can't really judge what it would be like at a busy time. More customers came after we checked in but we were still able to get our 3 races in pretty quickly. I will definitely compliment all the pit crew workers...they were awesome! They were all super friendly and attentive to the racers, helping with helmet sizing and keeping the race prep efficient. The electric carts are very nice and it's a great safety feature how they can control the speed of the carts when needed for a safety hazard. Overall it was a great experience. I would say it is a little pricey. It would be nice if the prices were slightly lower, but just search around for coupons and birthday deals (there's a coupon attached to this yelp page). A couple recommendations/improvement I would suggest are: 1) The race schedule seemed a little haphazard. I wasn't sure if we were scheduled for certain times or if we just walk up to the track when we are ready. I've been to other places where they had screens showing the roster for upcoming races so you knew when you were going. We kind of just wandered over to the track and were randomly thrown into races (I'll admit this was nice on a slower day but I can see why some people gave bad reviews who were there on busier days). 2) The screens showing the race results disappear and move on to the next race rather quickly. They should have one screen per track dedicated to the results of the previous race so everyone can see it because by the time you get out of the kart and back inside the lobby, it was usually moved on to the current race in progress. They DO print out the race results at the snack bar, but nobody informed us of that when we paid so I just randomly happened to find out when I went to buy a drink. If they posted the results on the screen longer, they could probably save a lot of paper and ink rather than printing out every single racer's results...maybe have a sign next to the screen saying you can request your printout. read more

But I must say it is a bit pricey if it's your first time and the staff on the race track didn't explain the instructions too well or at all but would probably be more fun and exciting with a bigger group of people. Overall I'd not recommend K1 Speed and much rather suggest Xtreme Action Park Here are the issues with K1 Speed - Staff isn't organized and not the friendliest - Waited nearly 20 minutes for one customer to buy our race. Not enough staff to handle a line - Wait time NOT disclosed until purchase to us. Once we paid we were told an hour and a half wait. - Not the cleanest facility especially during covid-19. Seems like the perfect breeding ground. Lots of people with masks off! - Our group was split off despite being ALL ON ONE BILL. We ended up being blamed for not making it clear enough to the ticket girl instead of an apology NOT COOL. Rules not emphasized enough. No backroom talk or safety video. They have a banner you barely read and give you the helmet and you go. Race stopped many times and KILLED the mood because of others bumping and not following rules that were not emphasized enough by k-1 Speed. Overall very expensive - $15-$25 per race for the 2 & 3 rece packages that let's be real most people were buying. The obvious CASH GRAB membership is a joke. Everything included in this membership is required to race like a helmet. This is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to squeeze customers. When you walk into the building it's ice cold AC. It is indoor cars and one would assume it was all AC. NO AC WHEN ON THE CARTS. IT WAS 90 DEGREES! With a helmet and everything on it was HOT. Not disclosed. For these reasons I'd recommend Xtreme Action Park over K1 speed. The entire experience fell well short of my expectations. Hopefully management really reevaluates some of these points brought up in this review. read more

I've been to other K1 racing venues before but this was the first time in the Hollywood location. **EDIT** - they dropped 2 stars in my opinion because they "bait and switched" me. We came in a 2nd time and they wouldn't let us use the $5 coupon. Even though it says arrive and drive it only works if you just buy 1 race. We bought 2 races and they said it didn't apply. What a joke. They have two tracks. One is longer than the other and I believe the shorter one is for beginners and kids. I did ask the guy repeatedly if this was for people just learning and he said "ohhh no it's for everyone". Well lo and behold I straight up owned every kid there and the race was over pretty fast. Another guy working there said I shouldn't have been on that track and "you should goto track 1 for now on so you can get your money's worth". Being that it's summer and we are in south Florida the track area is hot as haitis. We are talking dripping in sweat after the first race. Luckly they have a nice air conditioned area with nice seating in it to recover. 2-3 races will be enough. Be prepared to be sore the next day if this is your first time. read more

K1 is great only once you are on the track. The location is easy to find and right off the highway. K1 is extremely over priced and not worth the experience. They offer a stats chart which allows the racers to see their order based on lap time versus actual position in the race. It allows racers to have fun vs compete irresponsibly for first place. However, you'll get lucky if you get to see the stats while you race. Both times coming, they have messed up and the employees seem clueless on how to set up or start the stat chart correctly. Due to the unpleasant experience and inconvenience of location (for me personally), I will not be a frequent visitor. read more

Great place to take the family on a rainy day, although I came with 4 kids and 2 adults we didn't have to wait long. The adults did have an hour and a half wait but there's plenty to do here to keep you busy. The staff is super friendly, considering they are under staffed. Johan, the manager is also a magician. He could be helping out the front registration desk and simultaneously making another customer pizza. He's amazing and he deserves more staff. I have been so excited to go here for a while! My boyfriend and I have been waiting for it to go back on Groupon because it's so expensive. It lined up with a friends birthday so we decided to go here and get the Groupons. Registering is easy and they put your names on a list and you have to wait about 30 minutes to drive. There is nearly nothing to do while you wait except for sit down. Boring. They say your names on a muffled loudspeaker when it's your time to go. You really have to listen because you can barely understand them. When it was finally our time to race they quickly debriefed us on rules and regulations, and set us up with carts. The helmet they gave me was too big so it kept slipping. My real problem lies with the reason you come here - the carts! First few laps went well and then my cart started dying. It slowed to about the quarter of the speed it should be going. I tried to stop and wave them down but they motioned for me to keep going. Afterwords the employee told me the cart died but he didn't do anything about it. No comped race, no apology, nothing. We wait for our second race and the carts malfunctioned SIX TIMES while we were in one race!!! Six times! They stopped all of us and kept having issues. It was ridiculous. Once again, you get nothing for it. On top of that, somebody ran into my stopped car going about 45 and I got serious whiplash and they didn't even address it. It was a Sunday and man it was packed. One birthday party and a couple random patrons resulting in an 1 1/2 hour long wait. We decided to leave to get some ice cream and come back. There was still a little bit of a wait when we got back so we left to grab dinner. When we got back for the second time one of the employees knew we were waiting for so long. She was nice enough to bump us up and squeeze us in the "next available race"... Which didn't happen for over an hour. A great place to go to let off some steam. Electric karts that can hit speeds of 45 mph. What could be bad about that. Add to that a track with S turns, hairpin turns, and straightaways, and you have a recipe for success. If you go, see about going with a group. This adds to the competitive fun. If you go with kids, be sure they meet the height requirements, which I think is 48 inches. PS, the employees will tell you that braking is important. They are right. Braking just right will ensure you have low times. The employees also will tell you not to bump. But everyone knows "rubbin' is racin'," so I don't follow that advice all the time.
