I have been wanting to do a pottery painting night forever and I'm so glad that color me mine is open! There is a studio fee which covered supplies and then you have to pay for your pieces. The pieces I will say were a little high in cost but I'm sure there are hidden fees in that. You definitely need 2+ hours to do a quality piece. The staff was nice as we approached closing they offered to send us home with supplies for free to finish but we did finish in time. It also took under 2 weeks (the estimated time) to get our stuff back! Overall great quality and a lot of fun! I'll definitely be back. read more

I went in to purchase Christmas trees to paint at home. The girls in the store were very helpful. They weren't the reason for this review. I went back to pick up my finished projects and I wasn't greeted very well by who I am assuming is the owner. She brought my projects out in sealed boxes and I asked to see them before we left the store. She opened and never helped nor acknowledged us after that. She returned to the back of the store and we never saw or heard from her again. She wasn't pleasant, never a thank you or even "don't let the door hit you" from her. Customer service is key and that is where this Color Me Mine is lacking. Learn something from the young girls that are working at night and weekends. Be nice to your customers and customers will give you good reviews and return to your business. read more

just now NEW What an awesome experience! I purchased a ceramic Christmas Tree in December of 2021. I didn't get around to painting it until August of 2022. The painting experience was so much fun. I was a little nervous at first, but the to go kits come with instructions. My kit came with lots of paint (my choice of colors), tree, base, two paint brushes, the instructions, all in a sturdy box. I have finally dropped it off at their studio and it is in the process of getting fired or whatever they call that. Hemali is very very kind and has been helping me all month long. While I thought that the Christmas tree kit was expensive, I didn't realize that after they fire it up, they supply the light bulbs and the lights for the tree. They personally make sure each light fits in the hole. They truly go above and beyond for their customers. I can't wait to see the end result! Also, I asked her if she had any stock of llamas (I love llamas) and she went out of her way to purchase llamas for the studio for the customers. I can not wait to get my hands on them! She said they were selling a lot of them and quickly. read more

I've been coming here for birthday parties and just for fun since I was a child; the first being my fifth birthday. That's 14 years of coming here, and I'm surely not going to stop anytime soon. The staff are always kind and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. When I was a child and my drawing skills were subpar, I came here and felt like a real artist, and never scorned. And now that my abilities are slightly above subpar, I still feel good here. The pieces are varied and the display changes often, and there is a seasonal rack that changes with holidays and as the months go by. The prices are very reasonable and the studio fees are too. I believe $9 for weekends and $6 for weekdays, but don't quote me on that. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday and his piece was particularly big, and the staff kindly offered to let us come back on any day without any extra studio charge to finish, so we are here again. They are treating us like close friends and for that we are grateful. You have total control and freedom over your piece, but they're always there for advice and help should you want it. I took my daughter and son to this location on 2/16/24. I received a call 2 weeks later that they had accidentally broke my daughters item. I asked if she could come in to make another one and they responded they do not have the same piece but will call me back to let me know if they will be getting more. A week went by with no call back, I stopped in the store to pick up my son's item and asked about the broken item. They said it should be in shortly and they would call me. I waited a month and again they did not call. Today, 3/28/24, I called and asked for an update, no item but they should have it shortly. I asked if I could bring her in to pick out another replacement item, I was told yes. I went over to the store and there were multiple open tables, I was told my daughter couldn't paint an item because there was a wait and they didn't know how long it would be (no one was waiting in the store). I explained the situation and that I called and drove my kids over there, the manager did not care. I left and took my kids to the Panera next door, walked past color me mine 30 minutes later and counted 7 open tables, the place was basically empty. I will not be returning to this location. read more

Went to Color Me Mine for the first time today and I was very impressed by the selection of pottery as well as how nice the staff was during my session. I very much appreciated how all of the staff members wore masks. My daughter is immunocompromised and there are very few establishments where I feel 100% comfortable bringing her because so many businesses are mask optional. Sitting fees? Really? $6 for my 2 year old and $9 for me (obviously I painted) I had pre-purchased a groupon. I ended up spending $65 on the two of us to paint. Just absurd. read more

This was my second trip to Color Me Mine, but my first to the Montgomeryville location. My friend and I took her daughter with us and had a BLAST! The staff were very friendly and helpful with getting a rambunctious, sassy one-year-old to get a clean hand print on a plaque, and one of the staff members (sorry, I didn't catch his name!) was AMAZING with keeping her occupied and happy when she would get bored. She'll have a plaque for her grandparents and I'll have a fish tealight luminary in about a week, but we've already had a great day together! I can't wait to go back again! read more

Don't tell anyone, but one of my fav things to do on occasion is to paint pottery (badly). When we go on vacation to the Poconos, the community we stay in has a great pottery-painting activity room, and I've painted countless ceramic representations of aquatic life (badly) while in Mexico on vacation. So you can imagine how excited I was to find out that I didn't have to travel to the mountains or south of the border to express myself artistically (at the level of a kindergartener assigned to Remedial Fingerpainting). Unfortunately, it didn't really measure up. Offense to decency 1: there is a "sitting charge." In addition to paying a fairly high price for the ceramics, which I would think should cover the cost of paint, supplies, etc, they charge $9 per person just to sit down! This, coupled with the cost of the pottery, led to a $50 bill for me to paint a small bowl (a "nut bowl," as they called it), and my wife to paint a coffee mug. Offense to decency 2: the wait time. The stated wait time to get our pottery back was 7-10 business days! And, while it ended up being 5, that still seems kind of excessive. In Mexico, they would tell you to go back to the pool when you were done and they had your pottery glazed (and professionally fixed of any errors!) within like 2 hours. Fine, maybe it's not the same thing, but 8 days? On a positive note: the staff was nice enough, and there were a good selection of paints of brushes. The final products also came back looking very nice with their glaze. So, all in all, while I had fun while I was there, I'm not sure I would go back. I'm planning on trying a place in Rittenhouse shortly and will report back my findings read more

Disappointing experience! I called this morning and was told about the $1 sitting fee for wearing pajamas. Never was it mentioned that it was only certain times! She mentioned that I should call 30 mins prior to reserve sitting space. I called and was then told by the person who identified herself when I arrived as the manager. I told her that it is disappointing that this was told to me! I asked for the persons name so I can call and mention it to them and the manager told me that it was not necessary for me to know her name and refused to give it to me! I then was told that I am more than welcome to go to Five Below to pick out a toy for toys for tots to get the $1 sitting fee. She then went and got the pieces of ceramics for my daughters but not for me!! read more

Not sure where all the negative reviews on this are coming from - we had an amazing time! We got there right at 10 AM and I told the woman we had never been there before. She explained everything to me and my 5 year old daughter. Was very helpful. As far as price, yes it was expensive. But I researched it in advance and knew what I was walking into. Went to color me mine with my daughter, we've picked out our pieces and started painting. While painting I could help but hear and see the way the manager was treating her employees. The Asian women is the manager. She is extremely rude to her employees. And even said to the other employee " I know I'm being short with her but I can't deal with her". Obviously she was training a new girl and "couldn't deal with her" every time she asked a question and the Asian women was rude. Worst experience I had. I've worked in retail many years and you don't treat your employees or customers that way. read more

Wow! I found the negative reviews to be surprising! I have been into this shop frequently in the past month and have found Ruth, the manager, to be more than helpful. She assisted in placing a newborn's footprints on several items. She could not have been more careful, gracious or helpful. When the employees were not helping others, they were picking up. I frequently paint at other Color Me Mine franchises; this was definitely a pleasant experience and will definitely return!!! read more

Color Me Mine came to my third grade classroom and it was AWESOME! Approximately 40 students were given paint, brushes, water, and a 10 oz mug. Ruth was our painting expert and she was extremely helpful. She answered all of my questions and concerns, while meeting the needs of 40 third graders who were very excited to paint and enjoy the experience. She was very helpful to the students and extremely nice to work with. We look forward to invite Color Me Mine back next year. read more

I have been to this particular store several times. Every time I have been in there, the amount of time they tell you it's going to take for your pottery to be ready for pick-up has been incorrect - by weeks at times. This past January, I went in with my 2 kids and I am STILL waiting for my pottery. I was told on Sunday for sure it would be in this past Monday. When I went to pick it up, I was told that the person I spoke to Sunday actually lied to me and there was no way it was going to be ready until the end of the week. No apologies are ever offered and the staff isn't particularly friendly either. Go somewhere else. read more

I was looking for something fun to do with my daughter that we hadn't done before and found this place online. WE LOVED IT! It was so relaxing yet fun to pick a piece of pottery to paint and make it your own. My daughter is 7 years old and loves arts and crafts. She was so impressed with me that I came up with this for us to do so I won cool mom points! The staff was very friendly and took care of our needs. The place was crowded but they asked us if we had been there before and explained how everything worked. The fact that they clean up after was awesome! I see people complaining about price, but I think the cost is very fair. People have to remember there is staff and a location and a business that still has costs to cover. I have no problem paying for a good time, and that's exactly what we had a good quality time and a keepsake that will preserve the memory of our fun together! We will definitely be back! read more
