    My painting

We did a girls day here and had an amazing time. Would recommend to asking how long it takes for the final product though, we are from out of town and will leave soon, my sis-in-law will have to ship ours to us, only found out after we had started. But overall fun experience!!

This place is great! Every staff member was super friendly and informative. We had never been there before, and she asked that question so we got the whole run down and then got to work. The process to pay and pick up was super easy. Our pieces came out perfect. Highly recommend coming in early enough to get your piece done. This was totally a detailed ME thing. The staff didn't rush me they were super polite and told me there was no rush. We made sure we left 5-10 before closing so they could clean up, but in no way felt rushed.

Would have preferred for this to be assembled the correct way, considering the $$ it cost me. They wouldn't do a thing about it.

Had a bad experience my first time here, but I decided to try it again. Painting experience was fine, and the girl working there at the time was helpful. My daughter and I painted a picture frame for my husband's birthday. I was assured that the backing and glass would be put on for me after the frame front was fired. Picked up my items today, and the back of the picture frame was glued on upside down. The frame backing was designed to only work one way. We had put "daddy" on the frame, so it should have been obvious which way was up. I happened to look at it before leaving the Orchard, so I went back and showed it to the employee. She wouldn't do anything to fix it. She told me that I could pull it off and re-glue it myself. For the $30 I paid for this 5x7 frame (which sounds high imho), not including the studio fees and taxes, they should have made it right. They gave me an item that they screwed up and they couldn't care less. Both times I've come here, I've waited and waited for the call to come pick up my items. The first time, they gave my items to someone else (a friend we had been there with). Luckily our friends told us they had taken our things back to the store. When we went to pick them up, the employee made a snarky remark about it being ready for pick up for a week (really? But nobody called to tell us?). This time, no call but I was nearby so I stopped in, and sure enough it was ready but with no notification. Maybe the teenagers working there could make some calls when business is slow. You know, like they are supposed to?

    Getting our creative on!

EDIT! I changed it to 2 stars because I came to pick up our pottery-- in the allotted time-- and they very rudely told me it wasn't ready, and would be ready the next day. I returned a few days later and they had to search and hunt to find it. The glaze on the handle of the mug has chipped, but I really don't want to go back there for a re-fire. They acted like I was stupid for coming to pick up-- on the date they said it would be ready. RUDE! Original review: Over the President's Day holiday, it was a cold, wet, snowy day. We decided that the snow was too mushy to go sledding, but we didn't want to just sit at a movie. We checked google maps, and sure enough, Color Me Mine was open on that rainy Monday off of school. I nanny for a 5th grader and we had a blast! This location had parking that was easy (but it could have been due to the snow!) and there were lots of tables to sit at. We enjoyed sitting by the window where we could enjoy the nice sunlight and see the snow falling down outside. Color Me Mine is a Paint-your-own pottery studio, like many others. They seemed to be semi-full service, as we picked out our pieces (a Happy Hippo figurine for her, a travel mug for me) and then looked at the colors of glaze available. One of the employees helped us pick our glazes and poured them in our palettes, but then welcomed us to getting refills on our own. She didn't give us much instruction, but since we'd been to similar places before, we didn't need too much help. They have lots of different sizes of good-quality paint brushes, sponges, and squirt bottles available. The supplies are neatly organized on shelves so that you can help yourself to the different brushes. The store was clean and with the butcher paper on the tables, we felt like we could make a (reasonable) mess and it was fine. On Mondays they have a reduced studio fee ($3 a person!) and the price of the pieces was reasonable. We are looking forward to picking up our pieces, all shiny and fired, in about a week.

My 5 year old son and I had a great time painting. The place was clean and tidy and the staff was very helpful. The colors are easily marked and accessible. Our pottery was done in about a week, they called to let me know and it was wrapped for us to pick up. I would give it 5 stars but I feel like it was a bit proverb than most other painting places. We will be back.

Lots of kids having an awesome time!

You also receive a drink with your experience. It was a 2 hour experience. The first 10 minutes was waiting for people to settle down. Next 20 was watching the instructor tell us what to do. Then she did it again but this time, going step by step with us following each of her steps. My first one turned out amazing. But then the second and third time around, I forgot the step by step instructions and my pieces had to be thrown out lol. But my fourth time, I asked her to repeat the steps and once I got that down, my fourth, fifth, and sixth pieces were spot on. It took a while to get the hang of it but once I got, it was fun! Same with my partner. We had to stop with 30 minutes left. 15 minutes was for us to clean our stations. The last 15 minutes was to select which of our two pieces we wanted to take home and submit it on their website. I understand it probably sucks to have to clean all of the stations alone but I think we only spent about an hour actually throwing clay- the rest was waiting for people to settle down to start, watching her instruct, cleaning, and selecting our pieces. It took me a while to get the hang of throwing on my own so it would have been nice to actually throw for a little bit longer (even just an extra 15 min) since we paid for 2 full hours. Anyway, I'm looking forward to see how our pieces turn out once they are colored and glazed. The instructor was friendly and smiley.

I had removed the tags on a couple things but still had the receipt, so I came in to see if I could return everything. They Al were happy to help and Katie, my cashier was beyond nice. Joking with me about the situation and just saying they're I'll always find a solution for returns. She was just so positive and peppy and during the Christmas season especially, I couldn't be more grateful for such sweet people. Customer service was above and beyond!

I came in today to exchange some items I had bought for my wife's birthday. Because I lost the receipt, I had to take 60% in credit of the sales price. No problem-- it's not their fault I lost the receipt, it's mine. But what was so glaringly one-star worthy was how painful the entire exchange was because of Magdalena's demeanor. From the sighing, to the glaring-- not only was she not friendly, she was rude! Consider saying please or thank you if you work in retail. Or if you're that unhappy working there: quit! I can't believe this is a Christian-owned business. It's quite baffling! Furthermore, they told me they couldn't take an item back because they didn't sell it anymore (meaning: it wasn't populating on their iPad). Instead of doing some due diligence or giving a consumer the benefit of the doubt, they'd made their decision: we're not taking this back! I literally had to walk all the way to the back of the store and grab the item which they still sell (pic attached) in order for them to even consider they were wrong. Oops! No "sorry about that", no "oh you're right, our fault!" Just a dull look on her face obviously disgruntled because I'm making her do "extra work." Really-- either be happy at your job OR just quit. Don't suffer others because of your lack of happiness. I had $5 left on my gift card which I gave to the customer behind me because I'm never coming back here again, I'll go out my way to go to Michael's. Awful job, Hobby Lobby.
