    The bear!

I attended a NACE Conference at the Colorado Convention Center. It's a big convention center, but manageable. Very clean and ample bathrooms. The spaces were nice and AV system was on point. There's a coffee shop inside the building and a small gift shop. Love the bear in the front-- so fun!

The Colorado Convention Center is in a great downtown location with lots of hotels and restaurants within easy walking distance, which makes attending events very convenient. The convention center itself is huge and well suited for large tournaments--we were there for a volleyball event and it worked out great overall. One downside is the lack of a coffee spot downstairs. The line for coffee upstairs gets very long, and an additional option would make a big difference. Food options are just okay. The pizza was $11 and pretty mediocre for the price.

Cannot say enough good things about the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO. My wife and I were just there for the first week of December 2025, for the annual convention and trade show for International Association of Fairs and Expos (IAFE). From loading in to loading out the workers there were fantastic and went above and beyond just to help us. The building itself was amazing and set up nicely for large gatherings and smaller classroom settings. Even the parking garage was great for us as we were able to stay parked there each day at a reasonable rate and then could venture out and explore downtown Denver without worrying about our ride. We loved the big blue bear so much that we researched him, his origin, and his name. Adds such character to the entire place and fully explains why the eyeglass cleaning stations are called what they are called. IYKYK. Hoping that our convention travels bring us back to Denver soon so we can enjoy their convention center once again.

Once you get the parking figured out it is a great place to park and visit. They did have good signs, but it took an elevator ride to the outdoors back into the indoors. I found that odd but not a big deal once you so it a few times. The inside was clean and huge, signs everywhere to keep you from getting lost. People at the front door to greet you and help with questions. A nice coffee shop right inside. Lots of seating!! And a place really well lit for charging and recharging both. Bring your laptop and work. I did. In all, this is a great location for a convention and we all were quite content with the loading in and out of our booths.

Typical modern convention center that is well lighted, "airy", "open" and huge :-) Several entrances, good escalators and stair layouts. Elevators available as well. For those sponsoring "Expos" here the city/convention center has staff for electrical and A/V instead of companies like Freeman etc. Lots of hotels nearby make it easy in walking distance. I didn't feel unsafe at night walking to hotel and nearby restaurants and bars.

Like the bear on the outside of the CCC, the convention floor is big. Bigger than I thought. We were attending NSC and we walked a lot. It was great to see our clients and hopefully create a connection with some new ones. The team that makes everything happen from keeping it running, clean, and stocked with $8 sparkling water, ouch, made walking the floor and conducting business a breeze. We were super fortunate to have our home base at the AC just a walk up the street.

I was here for a big convention in early August and the venue was more than large enough to accommodate the thousands in our group. The blue bear outside is a lovely touch. The expo hall is large and accommodated many rows of vendors and poster sessions. The rooms were standard conference center but impressively, the AV/tech situation seemed to run more smoothly than typical. I loved that they let people walk through some quieter areas; the concourses are large and long enough that you can actually get a decent walk in with having to brave the Denver summer heat. As with many convention centers, they also had some nice artwork on the walls including an exhibit on what Colorado likely looked like in ancient times. Location of the Convention center is convenient to lots of hotels and restaurants.

In the heart of downtown Denver I attended the Colorado Crossroads Girl's Junior National Volleyball Tournament (1/30/25-2/2/25) at the Colorado Convention Center. This event hosted the best teams from 30 states. The courts provided spectator chairs & were clearly marked but very little or no walkways between courts. Surprisingly, there were hardly any food options. We found pizza & coffee, most vendors were closed. The convention center (CC) is a beautiful building. There are plenty of parking garages & restaurants nearby. My favorite part was the Big Blue Bear. This 40 foot tall blue bear leans against the glass looking into the CC. The bear is made of lapis lazuli...a rare stone found in Colorado & the blue represents Colorado's sky. Plan on doing a lot of walking cuz this place is huge. The CC hosts hundreds of events a year, such as trade shows, graduation ceremonies, theater, (Bellco Theater) & it even has a couple of ballrooms!

Not gonna lie, the fact that they had more "exit" doors than "entry" doors really pmo. because this place is massive and if you got it wrong, you're screwed. Either way came here for a volleyball tournament. The place was huge. The bathrooms were few AB's insanely far for no reason. It served its purpose.

Came here for a larger-sized convention. The center is pretty big with a decent layout. Centrally located around many hotels and places to eat in Downtown Denver.

UPDATE 10/13/24: My return to the Colorado Convention Center in one of my favorite cities to visit - Denver. We participated in Denver's annual Great American Beer Festival (GABF) on 10/10/24. I've been to the convention center a few times before for work purposes with my old job and it's one of my favorite convention centers out there. Now, I finally fulfilled my longtime dream of participating in the GABF, even if it was just for one day. There were two floors of endless beer choices, but the first floor was just the beginning, which was a food/drink pairing for separate ticket holders, which included us. Many booths had small dinner-like bites that came with our beer samplers, such as ribs and meatballs. The real party began on the second floor, though. There were hundreds more beer booths, a live band, and some merchandise to buy. One of the first beer samplers I had on the second floor was called the Bacon Cinnamon Roll Cream Ale from 903 Brewery, which was actually pretty decent. I lost track of how many beer samplers I had, but I enjoyed most of them. I also bought some soaps made from beer to take home with me. I had a great time at the GABF and I would like to experience it again.

Finishing up a 5 day national conference here. We used pretty much the entire facility, including the Bellico Theatre. There is a variety of meeting spaces. There is a gift shop, various coffee shops and cafes, depending on what is contracted to be open during your event. Our academy provided lunch daily so many of the eateries inside were not open. Adjacent parking. Walkable to the downtown hotels. Expo hall is HUGE. Plenty of clean restrooms. Escalators and elevators. Light rail stop in front.

Gorgeous space! Came for a graduation and was amazed that this was only 1 event going on at the same time.

We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside!

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

Everything is electronic, and your ball has a microchip in it, so it tracks your score. This was awesome for me, as sometimes it didn't record my strokes and gave me a slight advantage, although I still lost. There are screens that tell you what to do, and hazards or super tubes that if you have decent aim, can benefit you greatly. Our favorite was the pac man and Tetris themed holes. The house band played from 7 to 8:10, took a break, and then came back and played another song. It was 8:25 before anyone was invited to join. The jam was advertised to go to 9 so it wasn't much of a jam opportunity. Also, the they decided to squeeze the band into a little spot in the walkway that was in the middle of all the vaping. This was unnecessary because they have a big room with chairs, guitars on the wall, etc available in the back of the place that appeared to be setup for the jam. It made no sense and created a terrible jam environment.

They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. I needed to get to work and I wasn't wanting to wait an entire hour and they just wasted 20 minutes of my time not prepping anything, so I decided not to go with the burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. It would have been SOOOOO simple to make the burritos and quick run the knife through them. But, no, the choice was to do nothing for almost a half hour, to refuse to run a knife through them as asked, and then lecture a customer for coming in to order 20 items. It's not like I asked for 100. What if 10 customers came in and each ordered 2? Can you do that? Do they get lectured, too, or...? See ya.

3.5 Stars…read more After waiting nearly three months for Denver's hottest reservation, my group of four were underwhelmed by our dining experience. The Good: The food itself was lovely. Fantastic flavors. Beautiful plating. If basing our review on the food alone--five stars. The Bad: Despite having been in their space for months by now, the ambiance was not there. The staff kept turning on and off the food heat lamps, which were so bright that the light level in the entire space vacillated between dark and sultry to too brightly light all night. The temperature was absolutely arctic. Multiple groups had to ask for their coats from coat check before one of the waitstaff said he looked at the heating. He made adjustments, which did increase the temperature of the room from arctic to chilly--but it remained unacceptably cold. Pacing of courses was oddly timed. The waitstaff couldn't seem to strike a good balance between casual and fine dining--it was a little awkward at times. The Bad: Despite placing our wine flight orders twice, with two different waitstaff, they forgot to give us our drinks until we asked. By then, we'd missed two of the pairings. They did offer to serve us the remaining pairings at no cost, which was a nice gesture. But, it's wild that something like this happened in a place with 16 seats and 4 waitstaff--they missed out on $400 in alcohol sales because of this error. The meal was explained to our group as a "ten course" experience. We only received nine courses: 1. The venison "hamburger" 2. Cappuccino 3. Roasted apple 4. Crudo/sashimi 5. Scallop 6. Lobster 7. Venison skewer 8. Duck leg 9. Dessert This feels like an egregious oversight. And, based on what we overheard from the table next to us--almost felt deliberately misleading. The wine pairing is plainly described in the menu as "five pairings." As dessert was brought out, the table next to us inquired about the remaining pairings, as they'd only received 4 pairings up to that point. The waitstaff tried blaming it on the fact that "dessert wine is polarizing" and "we over poured the other pairings," but those are weak excuses. If you're not going to offer the full 5 pairing flight as advertised, that needs to be communicated ahead of time. Overall: With a price point, including wine flight (had that worked out), per person of nearly $325--The Guest had too many substantial misses. While the food may be ready for prime time, the service is leagues behind.

The Guest, located inside The Regular, is a full dining experience rather than a traditional…read morerestaurant, and it's a strong addition to the Denver food scene. This is a timed, coursed dinner where the entire room sits and eats together, so arriving on time is essential. The format creates a restaurant wide dinner party feel, which sets the tone for the night. Everything feels intentional, from the pacing to the service to the design of the space. The menu changes often and is never repeated, which makes the experience feel special and creative rather than formulaic. Standout dishes for me included the duck doughnut, the wood ear French toast, the venison burger, and the leek cappuccino. The kanpachi crudo and scallop with tamarind were also beautifully balanced, and desserts like Cash's Apple and The Sphere were thoughtful finishes rather than an afterthought. One of the more memorable details was the menu book at the end of the night, featuring the chef's original sketches of the dishes. It's a small touch that really reinforces how personal and considered the experience is. If you're looking for a unique, chef driven tasting experience that feels cohesive and well executed, this is absolutely worth a reservation.
