We had a a positive stay at this Courtyard. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful, particularly Jeff. The room was comfortable and clean. It did not have natural light unfortunately because the window was internally facing and I wasn't a fan of that, but otherwise the location was great and allowed us to enjoy Downtown Denver and the 16th St. Mall easily. read more

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament at the Colorado Convention Center and needed a hotel that accepted dogs. Location-wise, it was great--only about a 10-minute walk to the convention center and very convenient for anyone visiting the 16th Street Mall. That said, this hotel is not convenient for dogs at all. There is literally nowhere on or around the property for dogs to go potty. The only nearby patch of grass has a "no dogs" sign, which was frustrating. We ended up walking two blocks to an ACE Hardware just to find a spot for our dogs to go. If you're traveling with pets, this is a major drawback. Our room itself was fine and spacious for what we needed. The lobby is pretty and inviting, and there's a coffee shop downstairs--but it's for pay only. I personally find it ridiculous that Courtyard Marriotts don't offer complimentary brewed coffee in the lobby. To make matters worse, the coffee shop doesn't open until 7am on weekends and 6am on weekdays, which isn't ideal for early mornings. For meals, there's a restaurant called Tequilas attached to the lobby, which is convenient if you want lunch or dinner without leaving the building. Parking, however, is expensive--over $40 per night. Overall, it wasn't an awful stay. The location and room size worked well for our trip, but I wouldn't recommend this particular location if you're traveling with pets. read more

This Marriott is in a historic building that used to be a department store. It is remodeled. Consequently, like many similar properties, the rooms are clean, "modern," but a little small. The lobby is beautiful and cozy. The fitness center is in the basement and has a decent or relatively standard set of cardio and weight equipment comparable to similar hotels. It was pretty deserted on our visit. There is a valet and self-parking, but the rates are pretty high-perhaps comparable to other downtown properties in other cities, but is is a lot of money. AS for the most important items for any hotel: the bad was old and did not hurt our backs, the water temperature on the 6th floor was good, but the water pressure was a little low. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property is located nearby a number of good restaurants and shopping. The 16th street mall is within walking distance. There is a target that has a market nearby as well as a CVS and Walgreens. If you do not get a room with a street view, then you may be looking into an adjacent historic building as our room did. Also, and like most downtown areas in major US cities, the area is overrun with homeless people. The ones there on our visit were obviously mentally disturbed and were shouting and throwing things late into the night. if you try to sleep early you may be unable to depending on which homeless people are in the area on your visit. If you just ignore the homeless people, it is reasonably safe to walk the area during the day, but we would recommending just take an rideshare after dark. On the whole, this is a decent place to stay. However, unless you are there on business like we were, you are better off staying in a suburb and then commuting downtown due to the area and not the property itself. read more

The word that comes to mind when entering this hotel is 'cozy'. The aesthetics remind me of a den or lodge. We arrived very late at night but were checked into our room quickly. This hotel is right in the middle of downtown. Very centrally located to everything. A Walgreens &CVS is right down the street. The rooms were nice & clean. The only gripe I have is the restruraunts adjacent to, it's a Mexican food place with horrible service and ok food. It would've been nicer to have a place to get food from so close that was good. read more

Solid hotel right off of 16th, the main walking thorough fair in downtown Denver. Clean rooms and nice staff. There are even one bedrooms suites available. On-site parking is limited and an additional charge beyond the room fee. There is a coffee shop and a Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel so. I need to go outside for food. The restaurant was average but convenient. Sams #3, a diner, is on the same block and open for breakfast and lunch. Expansive menu. The Courtyard is a regular go to for me when I have meetings in downtown Denver. Good location, reliable and not cost prohibitive. Give it a try if you are in the area. read more

Minimal frills hotel in a central location at a reasonable rate. If you come with proper expectations, you'll enjoy your stay. The bed was comfortable, room was clean, and service was adequate. I can't say I was blown away by the hospitality, decor, or accommodations. They do not offer daily room cleaning yet had a note in the room about tipping the housekeeper (makes no sense!). In-room bottled water is not complementary and the $6 price tag was off-putting. Things are a bit dated but overall the Courtyard Denver Downtown offers an affordable option in a central location. I would stay here again on a budget, but prefer another hotel if the budget allows for more of a splurge. read more

We returned here in 2023 after a really good experience a few years earlier. I had forgotten what a great hotel this is. It is historic and the inside has warm colors that draw you in. The feel is upscale, warm, and inviting. You get a sense of tradition and history, I really liked it a lot. The check in was easy and the receptionists were friendly. Our room had high ceiling with a fancy design. The bathroom was updated and modern. The shower was great. The highlight were the beds. Soft mattress, pillows that are absorb your head. I could sleep there for days. The hotel is steps from 16th street mall where lots of restaurants, shops, and bars are located. The perfect location. Self parking is $44 a night which is steep but at least there is easy in and out. Overall, we loved this hotel and definitely would stay here again the next time we are in Denver. read more

I prefer a firmer mattress and the bed to me was not comfortable, could not sleep well for two nights, which is my primary metric for a hotel. I landed in Denver and then went straight to the office. The local staff there asked where I was staying for the night and when I told them there was a slight pause. The consensus was that the area was nice but had gone a bit downhill. I drove onto the mall and had to circle back because I missed their parking lot, just in time to see a homeless man laying nearby the hotel punch the sidewalk like it owed him money; I immediately flashbacked to the local staff's reaction and understood what they meant. For such a huge lobby there wasn't much there. They had a little convenience store but there was no bar or breakfast area-which I thought was something all Courtyards are supposed to have; nothing super fancy but not even a coffee bar. My room though was pretty large-but it's not like I hung around for long. I basically dropped off my work bag, unpacked my essentials and headed back out. When I did get back I was pretty hungry and could have used a night cap. I was sadly reminded that there was no way to address that outside of Doordash. Sadly, I used their little convenience mart to get a bottle of water and their microwave Pad Thai which was exactly as good as you'd imagine. Still, the staff there was friendly and responsive so that actually helps. read more

I stayed here for almost a week and it was definitely worth what I paid for. The lobby is enormous and has quite a bit of seating. The room I had was large but there was a buzzing noise throughout the night that I couldn't deal with. I mentioned this to the staff and thankfully they were happy to change my room which they did rather fast. Comfy beds and the bathroom was nice. Considering the location, I'm surprised it wasn't more expensive. You're pretty much right in the middle of Denver. The gym is very much ok but I don't expect much from hotel gyms. You're required to book a time for the gym which I'm guessing is to promote social distancing. read more

My family really enjoyed our stay here at the hotel. Really great location in the downtown area, was a bit worried about the homeless around the city, but was glad to see quite a bit of security presence in and around the hotel. Our room was a pretty big room, beautiful huge windows overlooking the Main Street and high ceilings. Bathroom was more than enough for my wife and 2 little ones. The staff throughout our stay were all very friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Brody at the front desk. You can tell he enjoys his job and likes to genuinely help people. He was a really nice guy and my kids thought he was cool cuz he always greeted them. My only complaints were that our shower drained so slow(seemed clogged up) and whenever we showered the shower floor was always filled up with water. Also, the tv and the remote were frustrating trying to change channels, volume control and keeping it on(tv would turn off on own). Overall, had a really nice stay and the hotel is really nice and clean. Would definitely come back here when in town. read more

I arrived to my hotel after a crazy navigation event going through the various one way streets in downtown Denver. I arrived to my hotel to valet-only parking for $42 a day. I entered into the lobby from the valet entrance and was greeted immediately. I gave my reservation name and started the check-in process. I was not thanked for my elite membership and was not issued elite room keys. My reservation was booked online using Marriott rewards points under my rewards account. I arrived to my room and observed that this was clearly an older building that had been converted to a Courtyard at some point, similar to my stay at the Courtyard in Seattle Pioneer Square. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. The only thing missing was a safe. The restroom even had an exhaust fan when the light switch is turned on. The room had a good view to the street below with a view to 16th St. This hotel is in a perfect location on the 16th st. Mall within walking distance to Larimer Square and government buildings with plenty of restaurants and shops in close proximity. The hotel has an attached restaurant, gift shop and Starbucks coffee in the same building. The hotel beds were uncomfortable and loud with such noise generated with every movement. These are the worst hotel beds that I have slept in in a long time! The service at the hotel was friendly at the front desk and found the valet staff to be super helpful and friendly. This place offers a stay in a great location. This could have been a 4 star stay but the beds caused a rating drop. read more

The first and only real issue was the location. On the website it gives an address that is on the opposite side of downtown. It was Google Maps that showed us to the right location which was weird and a little sketchy. I was not quite sure where the parking was so we ended up parking in an overnight parking garage about 0.4 miles away for $36 (I believe the hotel on-site parking is 40; but we were unable to find it). Great location on 16th St Mall. You can easily leave the hotel and hop on the free Mall Ride bus that takes you from one side of 16th St to the next. We were able to check-in three hours early which was a plus. The hotel has a great location on 16th St Mall. When we checked-in, the front desk staff worker was not the friendliest, but nevertheless got the job done. You are able to sync your hotel key through the app which is nice in case you happen to lose your key or just want the added convenience factor. Due to COVID-19, some amenities are removed from the room, but they informed us that we can request them to be brought up to the room. The room was spacious and very clean. Two queen beds and a decent sized bathroom. We called down later that night and spoke with Kyle who was very friendly and fulfilled our request and then called back about an hour later and spoke to Nate, who kindly had someone bring us water cups and ice bucket to our room (the worker was an older gentleman and was very sweet; also wore a mask when bringing to the room!) You are able to check-out through the app, which is what we did. Check-out time was 12pm I believe? Which was nice as sometimes hotels have extreme check-out times. Overall, a nice hotel. It was quite and clean on the inside. There was a little market in the hotel which is nice! Only thing to management- fix the location on the app!!! IT is NOT correct!!!!! read more

They are working on the main sewer line the area and it's smells like sewer gas and broken dreams anytime you leave the room. Homeless are everywhere and the restaurants pretend it doesn't smell like sewage. Never staying here again and actively trying to find an early flight out. read more

Stayed here during a work trip. It's less than a 8 minute walk to the Colorado Convention Center, so it's convenient if you're having to go there for something. But there are many other options even closer to the center. The hotel was really outdated. Advice if you stay here, try to ask for a room that doesn't face the front of the hotel, as you were here street noise at night. No complimentary water bottles for when you check into your room. You could purchase water bottles from the hotel mini market or pay $5 to open the ones in your room. Staff was really nice though. read more

Incredible hotel! The location is close to the convention center and a ton of bars and restaurants. Our room was beautiful and clean. The valet and front desk staff were very nice and didn't laugh too hard at me when I wanted a hot pocket at 3am after the bars! We had a great stay at the Denver Downtown AC! My dad is in a power wheelchair and had some issues booking a room with a roll in shower at first, which is the only reason this review isn't 5 stars, but the rest of our stay was perfect! We really wanted to write this review to shout out how awesome and accommodating all of the staff was! From the valets (Don and Mario were so kind and helpful!!), to the housekeepers who helped us with extra linen and pillows, and the front desk staff who sent up extra waters and helped with anything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the rooftop deck had an awesome view. The restaurant at Le Meridian was delicious! read more

Pros: Very clean and fairly updated. Comfortable sheets and pillows. Large TV that has LOADS of channels/cable and Netflix! Has a steak house in the hotel along with a gym and mini snack market. I was very happy that I chose this hotel for my visit to Denver. It was really convenient both for sightseeing in Denver and for transportation to and from the airport. To get there, I just took the $10 train from the airport to Union Station, then the Free Mall Ride bus to the hotel, which is right on the 16th St. pedestrian mall. While I was there, I took some bus day trips top the mountains, both of which left from Union Station, so that was very convenient. I also did a walking tour that started from the steps of the state house, also an easy walk. At the beginning of my trip I was still trying to eat healthy and exercise, so I used the hotel's gym. I was surprised to find that it really is a gym! They have so much equipment and it is so large, I think they could actually sell memberships for locals who might want to use it. They also have a laundry room in case you want to do laundry. I also thought the room was a really good deal. It was a large room, and felt very upscale. There is even a rainwater shower head and also handheld shower wand in the bathroom! I was surprised that I got so much for what I paid. I am a Marriott girl. Booking hotels in Denver was tricky this time of year just because there were so many conferences happening and it was hard to get a room that wasn't over inflated because of demand. This hotel was cozy and I did enjoy it. The rooms had super high ceilings. The only couple things that I thought were weird was that parking is valet only and it is like $35.00 per night. It was nice for me to be able to call down to the front desk for them to bring around the car all warm in the winter, but still not worth the price I think. Also, there was some weird stuff in the shampoo. If I was going to be in the area again, I would probably try staying somewhere else. read more

Really starting to fall for these Marriott hotels. Always good service, nice added perks and thoughtfully designed spaces. Think I'll join their rewards program. Got to this hotel super late but checked in within minutes. First time I've ever slept In a hotel that was interior to the hotel and didn't have a window to the outside. Clean room with a king sized bed. Big flat screen and lots of lighting. Really nice bth products and plenty of scratchy towels. The bed wasn't that comfortable as it was a bit too hard and pillows were too soft. Very centrally located to downtown, restaurants, public transportation and nightlife. read more

Honestly was a bit weary before booking at this hotel based on the mixed reviews. The first sketchy situation was the address. The gps took me all the way to the another side of downtown Denver. When we finally got it adjusted back it then proceeded to take us to the front of the building which is a street only busses can drive down. Thankfully the receptionist redirected us to the parking lot address which took us directly to the hotel. We finally got into our hotel room which was a double bed. Solid room, very comfortable, and most importantly the shower was top notch. The hotel has a gym as well a laundry room. Both require appointments based off the pandemic. It's also in an extremely popular location, right next to the 16th street mall. The reason I didn't give the Courtyard 5 stars is because they charged me $44 to park in their lot. We had booked into another hotel in Denver and quickly realized we needed to get out. We found this Courtyard and were so glad we did. It was in a great downtown location we walked almost everywhere we went that weekend. They have a super nice lobby with a fireplace and games. It's attached to a bar so we didn't need to wander far to find our hotel after a night of drinking. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing to stay in downtown Denver! read more

Way overpriced for what it is. These guys are playing heavily on their location on 16th street. The rooms are small, furnishings are dated and the bathrooms are tiny. I've had nicer rooms at supposedly lower end hotels at less than half the price. The lobby area is quite nice and the adjoining restaurant, Rialto (not sure if it's affiliated with the hotel), is good. After that it was all disappointment. One bright spot was Colin, the valet. I like a valet who offers "if there's anything you need, just let me know". It sounds like something any valet would, or should, say but Colin means it. read more

This review is specifically for the front desk staff from Wednesday through Saturday of august 16-19th. Absolutely wonderful people, kind and professional and attentive and great personalities. They were quick and polite with anything we needed. I would be really excited to come back to a little more of an update to the rooms, ie: the curtains are falling apart, the shower has broken hoses and was a little funky but aside from that we loved to walk to and from to adventure the city even with the construction. Came here for an event - it's very well located in the heart of downtown and if you can find metered street parking (which you'll have to re-feed every couple hours) you can save on the higher structured parking prices. Interior of the hotel is clean and well appointed. read more

We stayed here this past weekend and I can truly say this is my favorite Marriott I've ever visited. The room was classy, clean and cozy. We got a junior suite, since there was 3 in our party. I'm tempted to get a junior suite the next time as well, even if it's just 3 of us. The junior suite came with TWO bathrooms and TWO thermostats. Considering my sister in law and I have temperature wars, this hotel was beyond perfect for us. There was an issue with our bathroom light and I swear, the maintenance gentleman was there almost as soon as I hung up. Didn't know you have ninjas working for you! :) Any housekeeping we requested was taken care of just as quick as Mr Ninja. The location was superb with a Starbucks dang near IN the lobby (there's a private entrance from Starbucks into the hotel for guests with a key card.) The lobby is aesthetically pleasing and I can see curling up with a book. There are multiple entrances but they are accessible by keycard only after 9pm. We were able to walk to 3 Margaritas (that place itself needs a 5 star review from us too), Walgreens, Target, Ross, the Selfie Museum. There is a lot of homeless folk who hang out in the 16th St side, but we did see cops shoo away alley lurkers who were doing weird things like punching doors. Unsettling but nice to see it's not monitored by the cops. I didn't feel unsafe, ever. If you catch Vio the Violinist, you'll get a beautiful show! The pedicabs also frequent the 16th Street side so we easily caught one anytime we needed. ALSO this hotel is next to Sam's No 3, which was featured on 3D. I'm eagerly booking our next stay in November. Our plans arent near this hotel, but I don't care. The distance is worth it. The one thing we didn't care for was the restaurant downstairs. I think it's called Butler's. The food was 100% not made fresh. If it was, someone did something really wrong. The salmon breakfast option was canned salmon and stale bread. Seriously, skip the restaurant and just hit up Sam's. Downtown Denver Marriott, it's been 2 days and I still miss you! :) :) You guys knocked it out if the park for us! read more

Really no complaints about this property. In / out valet parking was really convenient. The location doesn't get much better with 16th street being right outside the doors and Sams No.3 (the best diner around) being next door. The room was about normal size for a standard Courtyard, but the ceilings were really high which made it feel so much more open. The high ceilings really blow your mind when you walk in because it makes the room feel like a suite. The staff were friendly and courteous with every interaction we had, and the cost of the property was really reasonable for a weekend trip. read more

If there was any criticisms it would be, front desk have a little more care with upgrade requests. We came to the hotel with a double bed room and a city view. We requested for an upgrade at check in, as we are allowed to do. They gave us a single king with a dumpster alley view. We have seen some interesting stuff this last 24 hours from our upgraded room with a view. read more

I had problems getting the mobile key to work, the front desk staff was extremely helpful, we were unsuccessful but it absolutely was not because they didn't try everything. The weather turned and started raining on early evening, again, front desk offered umbrellas so I could walk to dinner nearby. The 16th Street mall is outside the door and within a three block area everything is available. I did leave a note for housekeeping that the conditioner bottle dispenser was out, to please refill, they left an entire bottle - which I very much appreciate as I swear Marriott does not understand those pump bottles DO NOT WORK for conditioner. You need to be able to squeeze it to get anything out. PUMP CONDITIONER DOES NOT WORK!! So thank you housekeeper! Bed was soft, sheets soft. Nice room, I would stay here again read more
