Amy who owns the business and teaches the classes is a great teacher, an excellent potter, and has an amazing attitude. In a class like this people's pots fall, or they mess up a throw often as they learn but Amy has such an optimistic attitude and helps people come up with what purpose their new creation can serve. Amy clearly works very hard to make this a place for artists to bloom and discover themselves, which is intoxicating. The studio is well equipped and while taking a class you can come in outside of class time to throw and practice. This is a great opportunity to practice and get more wheel time outside of the two hours of class a week. They also offer painting and have lots of fun things to paint with many beautiful glazes!

First, you choose a design (over 500 designs) online when you RSVP for your event date. When you get to the studio, your project is ready for you! We sanded, we pounded (distressing the wood), we stained, we sanded again, we painted, we sanded again, and we coated our final products. Then, we attached the hanging hardware. 5 stars for the beginner pottery class I took on Saturday! This class, taught by Kaito (likely not…read morespelling their name correctly), was informative, relaxed, and fun! 12 people total in this 2 hour class. After watching a 20 min step by step guide showing us what we could achieve in this class, we all got started playing with the clay. Not everyone was a beginner, which was fine! Our instructor had plenty of time over the course of our class to visit each station, help us fix mistakes or give us hands on instruction, if needed, and guide us to help us achieve our goal. I appreciated that we were able to "opt out" of hands on instruction if we didn't feel comfortable. That goes a long way for me :)
