They even escort you to your site, which is great because without them we'd probably still be circling the campground like lost campers on a quest for s'mores. Weekend activities were a blast--cornhole and ladder ball made us feel way more athletic than we actually are. The goats? Adorable. My son is now convinced we need to adopt one (sorry HOA). And the fishing pond was a total win--kept the kiddo entertained long enough for us to actually relax. Avoid if you value your sanity and your RV! We had a miserable experience thanks to nonstop highway noise that made it feel like we were parked on the shoulder. But worse was being assigned a site we literally couldn't fit into without professional help. After much effort (and stress), an RV tech with a dolly had to pull us out--thankfully without damaging our camper. When we shared this with the office, they casually admitted the site has "had issues" before because of a poorly placed tree. If they already know it's problematic, why are they still assigning guests to it? That kind of disregard is unacceptable, and we won't be returning. I feel like they put you purposely in that site, so you have to pay the RV tech ($300) to get you out because he is coincidentally the guy in the campground map advertisements. I'm not saying I don't recommend the place, but it's more up scale. I feel as people being full time rv and on the road parks may need to understand. I totally understood the need to not let us stay. It was due to our rv being more than 10 years old. One of our onings was ripped due to where we had stayed when we got married. They wouldn't let us stay due to that and our rv being more than 10 years old. I completely understood. We left and they seem like very nice people. I would probably recommend this place if I had an rv under 10 years old, but I'm not able to by a new one every year unfortunately like all the millionaires in the world do. I might also be a millionaire one day if some of the services such as their booking service didn't take away the 10 dollar fee and it wasn't returned. Another dollar in someone's pocket. to start off , when making the reservations the staff were so polite and professional. on our arrival date, the front desk made my wife and i feel like they knew us. they could not do enough for us. getting into our site, bill assisted us in getting backed in. he said numerous times if we needed anything contact the office or to let him know if we see him around the resort. the resort is clean and beautiful. pool sparkling clean. we had a creat spot (co4) in the trees. sadly the second day we had a family emegency and had to drive back to california. i told them i had to leave and he could not help us enough. they advised me they were going to give me a partial refund. ashley and another desk staff sincerly felt bad for us. upon leaving, jim assisted us getting our rig out of our site and to the location to hook up our tow vehicle. in short, i read a bunch of negative reviews and my experiance was just the oppisite. i learned from another visitor that there was all new management and staff at location. outstanding resort and staff! oh, have to be honest the wifi was poor at my site. colorado heights thank you for a wonderful resort! sam & patti california read more

Edited to include our last day at the park-- there was nobody in the office for several days, but we needed to buy propane before we left (we were completely out and anticipating snow). We called the office phone number and called the emergency line they left on the voicemail. No answer. We were boon docking that night and had no propane for heat. There was so little supervision or support at this campground that our neighbor parked and used full hookups for at least a day while boasting that he had snuck in and wasn't paying for it. Original review: Cramped spots with uneven surfaces that aren't for the RV newbie. Staff and everyone at the campground are friendly, and rates are in line with Colorado Springs and Denver area. As other reviews say, it's dusty, but what do you expect for a wooded campground? Feels like true camping and we loved that. Lots and lots of trees and mountain views. Kinda rough looking lots of older RV's no water when it freezes. Made a reservation we had to cancel due to the pandanemic and due to their no refund policy we lost our deposit. Then we get a phone call because we didn't check in. ( facepalm) Ok while they were very nice initially... they have horrid bookkeeping our receipt was a cheesy little cash register tape. Don't stay here if you don't have 4WD! We were passing threw and were happy they had an opening last minute. But after arriving we realized why. The park is so tightly cramped and laid out in weird winding, narrow, gravel and hilly roads it was very unsafe. The park had us go down a marked one way, the wrong way, because that was the only way you could back into the sight they assigned us. We arrive after the sun went down and the park was hard to navigate, we were lost at first. An employee passed us on a golf cart and we tried to ask where we were in the park and how come we were directed to go down a one way incorrectly, without slowing down, he fussed, "I'm off the clock," and then sped up. In the morning we noticed that most sights were so tight and the trees were not cut back that most RVs could not use their awnings and for some, their slide outs. We made reservations months in advance. Our site was too small for our rig and they wouldn't let us switch even though they had larger sites that were unoccupied and unreserved. Trees blocked our popouts. The sewer hookup was in the wrong place. The site wasn't remotely flat or level and ended up breaking two of our camper's jacks. They advertise wifi but you couldn't connect to it from our site, and we were within sight of the clubhouse. The bathrooms and showers are dirty and small. We kept getting different messages from different employees. One said our small pop up was fine, another said we had to pay extra for it. One said we could park on a shoulder, the other said we couldn't. The camp map looks lush and green but there's hardly any grass. It's almost entirely dirt, which is not fun when you have two dogs with you. Here's the thing. Almost all of these things would have been water under the bridge if the management had any customer service skills. Instead of working with us, they corrected and scolded us. Seems like the customer's always wrong at Colorado Heights. read more

the horrible septic stench kept us awake most of the night! It was acknowledged by staff that the odor was throughput the camp and tried to explain it away. Think we should have been comped or at least offered a discount.Just couldn't get away from it even with the air conditioner on. The highway noise was terrible. Whoever says it didn't matter must not have been outside very much!We tried to imagine it was a flowing river. Looks like a really great place so I convinced my parents who have been rv'ing here for the last 20 years to give them a shot. Well first after leaving a message and not getting reply back and no one picked up the phone for 4 days, I called and they said they would be standing by the phone. Well guess what, no one answered again. Finally they got in touch with them and made reservations over a month ago. Everything seemed fine and we were looking forward to visiting them there. Then last week the campground called up my parents and told them that the campground had over booked and that they had to cancel. My parents weren't happy since it is next to impossible to find a place at the last minute and my parents stay for 3 months every time they come to visit. On top of that the person who called my parents acted like they should be grateful that they called them. Funny it seems more and more people who work in the customer service industry act like they don't like dealing with customers. What a shame. read more

Wow. I mean, wow. This place rocks. And it's not just all the rocks on the property. It is so beautiful and, even though it is right next to the highway; you won't notice. Atop monument hill- I've passed this place again and again over the years. I did not check it out until my friends parents came through town with a fancy rv. I'm not an rv-experienced person at all- I'm a tent camper. But I can see the appeal in this Sort of place. And the staff is super friendly . They even have an Elvis to greet you. This campground is absolutely beautiful with lots of amenities. BUT we are full time RVers and needed wi-fi and Verizon cell phone reception. Although advertised the wi-go was almost non-existent and we never got more than 2 bars for Verizon. I had called for two days trying to make reservations with no return call. The message on the answer machine said the office was open daily from 9am to 4 pm. Not so..........at this time of year open from 8-9 am daily. We also discovered the managers are not able to access the phone messages. CRAZY! The managers are VERY nice people and as helpful as can be. But the are working with one hand tied behind their back. If you want to stay at this campground just pull in, pick up a site map and learn the code of the campsites. Then park your rig in one that MAY be large enough and enjoy the mountain setting. This is a wonderful place if you don't need satellite, internet or cell service. read more

Steer clear of this one. It's expensive and horrible. Small spaces and tight roads are not conducive to larger RVs. Tightly packed in to a big gravel lot with no trees, no grass, no concrete. I don't write reviews, but felt it important to protect others from making this mistake. read more

Reserved a spot to come for one night (Saturday) with our 5 and 7 year old. When we booked on the phone we were told amenities were open and we had to book 2 nights so we didn't have to leave super early in the morning on Sunday, so we did. We arrived and were told that due to short staffing all amenities were closed. The spots were extremely tight and there were no campfire rings. Absolutely nothing for the kids to do so we decided to find somewhere else to camp. We were there for less than 10 minutes. We asked if we could at least get our money back for one night since we aren't staying at all, due to the change in closing all the amenities last weekend, unbeknownst to us. We were ok with forgoing the first night but to pay both for no amenities is tough. The woman was on the phone and simply said no refunds, pointing to a sign in the office. We understand that policy but again, the circumstances changed when they closed their amenities last weekend and didn't let us know. I would have hoped they would work with us and met us in the middle but they decided they would rather keep our money for one weekend, than have good customer service so we would come back when their amenities are open again. We will never be back. We took our business down the road to Jellystone Park. We had a fantastic experience there and will be back again for sure! read more

We are from AZ and made a reservation at this campground because it was close to our sons home. When we came upon the campground there was an address for camp and a beat up sign on a tree that said do not enter. We looked down the road and seen no signs of entrance and our navigation directed us to that spot and said "you have arrived". So in fear of having no place to turn around and we were towing our camper we pulled in to ask where the office was. All of a sudden a man comes barreling up on a golf cart screaming at us "what are you stupid or ignorant you can't read a sign"? My husband apologized 3 times while he continued to rage at us. Now mind you from the way we came in there was no signs to show where entrance was and my husband tried telling him that very politely as well as let him know we were from out of state. He would not listen and told us "GET OUT and follow me" as he led us down towards the office. When we got down there my husband got out of the truck and agin tried to apologize and let him know our reasoning for what we did wrong but this man who stated he was the owner didn't want to hear it and walked away. Needless to say we told him we no longer wanted his accommodations and would be finding another campground where we could be treated humanely. If this man was truly the owner SHAME ON YOU! read more

Advertising said that it was the best private campground in Colorado. Probably the worst experience I've had in my 50 years. You drive up and you think,not bad! Then you drive around the corner and you think " what the hell is this" very little is paved ant the rest is filled with pot holes everywhere. Many of the sites are laid horribly. No M.I.T engineer here. Workers look like high school dropouts. Just a bad experience. Should be sued for false advertisement. read more

If you're a weekend camper with kids, under 80 and like to have fun- save your time and money and go to Yogi Bear 10 miles north. This campground backs to a housing development and non-sewer sites are against that wall. We found most of the staff to be drunk on Friday and Friday night and the rest to be on a power trip. Rules like "you must accompany your 8 and 9 yrs old children on the playground were intermittently enforced. The whole point of camping is to send your kids to the park without adult supervision. We were also asked to stop playing cornhole in an empty site next to is "in case someone came along and took it." Obviously we would have moved our game if someone came along. Power trip lady told us she would have to charge us for the site if we continued to play there. ($55) Then she proceeded to close the game room at 7:40 while our kids were in there playing games, when rules stated it closes at 8. Even though it seems like there are lots of things for kids to do, this particular employee made it clear that kids arent exactly welcome. She ruined the fun time we were having and spoiled the tone of our trip with close friends. We wont be back and wouldn't send anyone we like here. read more

One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. Natural rustic setting, lots of trees. They have fun activities every weekend, with a different theme. Fun place for kids with mini golf, the pool, game room, fishing, craw-dadding. It is great to see kids doing things outside instead of on electronics all the time. The owners seem to go to great lengths to keep up the grounds as well as they can with the weather. The pancake breakfasts on the weekend were terrific, and the ice cream social was a big hit with our grandsons. We will definitely be back! read more

Buyer Beware!!! We joined in 2008 for over $5000. Following that time we had to call to get our membership dues mailed to us. In all of the time since we only received a few mailed billings. That is until they decided we were past due and manged to get mail to us to cancel our membership. I believe they conveniently fail to mail so they can cancel memberships and resell them. My husband and I had this campground recommended to us by a very helpful woman at the Colorado welcome center at Burlington. We had a wonderful time and although the sites are very close together, we had small trees between us and the camper on one side, and a bank on the other. We were there over the weekend and no one was drunk or acted/ dressed like teenagers. They were all very polite, professional, and helpful. I used the laundry and it was very clean, as were the restrooms beside it. We were in the section with no sewer hookup and smelled no stench. My husband had an car accident the day before we left and we ended up checking out late because of it, and weren't charged any late fee. One of the workers also took my laundry and I back up to our site, since I was stranded. It is located about 30 minutes from Colorado Springs and close to Garden of the Gods, about an hour from Pikes Peak, and 45 minutes to Denver. We took a train into Denver and then a bus to Boulder. We each paid $10 for a day pass and rode all trains and busses all day. I highly recommend this campground and would definitely go back! Oh, and a little fact... during our trip the past couple of weeks, every campground we have gone past in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho has campers on top of each other and most are parked on gravel and have little to no shade. At least this one has trees!!! read more
