Unfortunately I cant describe the entire debacle in 1000 characters. From Pre-OP to Post-OP very disappointing. To be fair, Dr Jennings is nice when you meet with him. However the care and process were the worst I have ever had in regards to courtesy, bedside manner, concern and results. Called PA back left a very disappointing message and never received a call from Dr Jennings. I have a major issue with knee so I called the referring DR for a new referral, he wanted to talk to Jennings, no call from Dr Jennings this was more than two weeks ago. Have a new doctor on 5/21 more than 4 months after manipulation. I am a professional athlete and the knee replacement surgery I was told by Dr Jennings, I'm in great hands and if I follow his instructions I will be back competing In May 2026 I did what he asked and more. Never did I think I would be worse than pre surgery. I would have never had the surgery, I would have retired from competition and kept my leg as it was. read more

They are not consistent in their care, they are not answerable or helpful when something goes wrong, and they do not, DOT NOT listen. If something goes wrong, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. A year ago I went to Dr Yang for my knees, asking about a HLA gel injection. Right off the bat he offered me a partial knee replacement on both knees. I declined and he gave me the HLA gel injection. It was only mildly painful, I was able to walk out of there and all seemed well. He tried to talk me into a steroid injection within 3 months but I really didn't need or want it. A year later I came back, my knees were just then starting to give me a hard time again. But wow, was it different this time. Yang glanced at the Xray (not an MRI as before) and stuck the needle in and the pain was so severe I screamed and almost passed out. And it continued to build in severity as he continued to push the entire syringe of gel into my knee, as I sat there screaming in pain. He just kept going despite what was happening. And then he did the same with the other knee and it was even worse. Listen, I do not have a low pain threshold, this was like, a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. It hit me so hard. This was not "NORMAL". I don't know what was wrong but something was definitely wrong. I kept telling him, "It wasn't like this last time!" Yang looked confused and said he was very surprised too but said it must just be that I was very tight. He said surely it would stop hurting soon and he left. I could not move my leg without excruciating pain and I couldn't stop crying, the shock of this whole thing just undid me. I was sitting there wondering, what the hell did he DO? An assistant came in, offered me a kleenex and told me to "laugh it off" as if it were some little thing I was overreacting to. WOW. They left me in there for about 10 minutes, saying it would stop soon, then tried to get me to walk, but my legs would neither straighten out nor bend much without very sharp pain. This went on for another 10-15 minutes then they insisted on wheeling me out to my car so I could drive myself home! It was as if they can't take any responsibility for bad results and just wanted to be done with me and get me out of there. I repeatedly tried to tell the girl who wheeled me out where my car was and she half-listened to me and went to the wrong floor and then the wrong direction. I kept telling her, no the car is over there, down this ramp over here... At one point I pointed directly at it, but she would not look or listen. She would say something like "we're almost there...". And I am not ill-spoken, I was quite clear. When she finally got me to my car, she wheeled me to a position behind the car on the PASSENGER side, an arms length away from the back of the car, and had me get up, not offering to help me do so. As soon as I was able to stand, rather than help me get around and into the car, she took off and just left me there, clinging to the back of my car. YOU try getting into the drivers seat of a car when you can't bend your legs certain ways. It was painful and I just felt traumatized. After I got home I followed directions, put it up, iced it, took anti-inflammatories, but my knees were very swollen . Yang's office called and told me everything that happened was "normal" so just ice it for 24-48 hours and take Advil. But the bit about this being "Normal" was simply not true. I looked it up. Articles by Johns Hopkins, the Cleveland Clinic, AI results from searches, all said that severe pain in an HLA injection is NOT NORMAL and I should consult a doctor. So I called them back and got a nasty nurse who kept talking over me and calling me "Ma'am". God, I just wanted to bitch her out but kept my cool. Eventually she wound up telling me some pain and swelling is "normal" and just keep icing it and refused to have me come in to be seen for it. As if it was really just a little pain, just a regular common occurrence. Which even Yang said it wasn't. I don't know if they were just not listening or just didn't believe my pain was real or that I was just some problem crybaby patient who can't take "normal" pain. It angers me so much to be totally disregarded in this way. But it doesn't matter WHY they did this, they are incompetent at best. If they will do this to me, they probably will do it to you too as soon as something goes wrong. I can ditch them, go to another Doctor and get an MRI and have the soft tissue actually looked at and just forget these people. But this kind of nonsense can cause real damage, so I don't recommend these guys. It's not a healthy choice. read more

Dr Jennings is absolutely top notch. I have just replaced my second knee with him at Porter. I have two straight and even legs that function and look fantastic. He hit a home run and I have been given my life back. His staff can also be commended. The x rays said it all! read more

I have had three joint replacement surgeries done through Colorado Joint Replacement Center at Porter Hospital. Right hip Oct. 2014 by Dr. Kim ( no longer there} , Left Hip Aug. 2023 by Dr. Jason Jennings and Left Knee Feb. 2024 by Dr. Jennings. The entire staff at the Colorado Joint Center has always been professional and caring during pre-op visits and preparation for surgeries. Appointments were easy to schedule and always on time with zero waiting time between scheduled appointments and Xrays and consultation no office visit was morethan 45 minutes from start to completion. The pre-op and post recovery staff including doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, physical and occupational therapists have always been caring, explain procedures thoroughly and are very professional. I highly recommend the excellent teams at Colorado Joint Center and Porter Hospital for anyone considering joint replacement surgery. My post op knee replacement required Physical Therapy was also easy to schedule at Parker Advent Hospital less than 3 miles from my home. read more

I'll give 2 stars because I had 2 decent hip replacements with Dennis. The problem occurs if you should have a issue, as I did with my knee replacement. Dennis then becomes a CYA guy. He was extremely unethical while dealing with my insurance company, and lied to me about what he would say to them. I'm left with neuropathy in that leg and a knee that doesn't bend. Dr. Haas is a perfectionist and a technician. He has replaced both of my knees in the last 5 months. Both of my knees hurt all of the time and I could only walk 2 blocks without stopping. He and his staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and true professionals. My legs were always bowed. Not anymore. Dr. Haas and his staff are easy to talk to and are prompt at returning phone calls and providing information. We are lucky to have him and his organization serving our community. Very displeased with Colorado Joint Replacement. 2 years out of surgery, still have a good deal of pain. Had my knee x-rayed yesterday by another surgeon, he was surprised that the original surgeon didn't reface the kneecap. That is where my pain is. Now I have to go through another surgery to have the kneecap refaced. I was never given an option in regard to refacing the kneecap. Also, I got a letter from CJR, stating that I may have been exposed to HIV or other ugly disease, because CJR had not properly cleaned their surgical instruments, over a period of several months.....don't go there, I don't think it's good for your health. read more

Doug Dennis and his PA Jim Boyle are as good as it gets! I have been their patient since 2001 and have referred many friends and family since then. My knee replacement is four years old and continues to surpass my expectations. Dr Yang replaced my hip and made two errors. The hip dislocated while still in the hospital (Porters), and I had 8 partial hip dislocations the first two weeks at home. I would also feel a hard "clunk" in the hip multiple times a day with normal movements. Dr Yang had no explanation for why this was happening and said with time, maybe it'll settle in. Within three months, I had a revision surgery by a Dr in a different practice and hospital. He found the two errors Dr Yang made. The stem implanted was the wrong size and has moved my hip way to the side. The second and worse thing was the cup was pointing approximately 45 degrees the wrong way. So far off that the edge of the cup was acting like a fulcrum pulling the ball out of joint with certain leg movements. The stem couldn't be replaced without extensive and painful surgery since the bone had grown around it. This has stretched the ligaments, tendons and nerves (sciatica in particular). I currently have problems with sciatic and other soft tissue pain. These problems will no doubt continue getting worse over time as the soft tissue is stretched out and over the hip and rubs with each leg movement.. I cannot recommend Dr Yang for hip replacements. If I have the other hip replaced, I will use the Dr that did the revision surgery and a different hospital than Porters. read more
