We emailed Clay to help us find an apartment in downtown Denver. We were coming from San Francisco to look at places in a couple weeks and wanted to make the most of our short time. We set up a call to talk about our priorities when it came to housing. It was clear he pays close attention to his clients' needs and wants to reduce anxiety, confusion and delays. He sent us a list of places that might fit our needs and we sent him back our feedback and selections to view while in Denver. He then set up appointments for us to view 8 or 9 places on a Friday. It wasn't easy with a 6 month old, but Clay picked us up in the morning at our Airbnb, stopped at the local store for us to grab some breakfast and patiently yet efficiently took us around the neighborhoods, giving us geographic context, additional insights into each place we toured, and explaining the possible "concessions" (discounts/promotions) we may be able to utilize at each place we visited. I contacted Clay regarding my move from Boston to Denver in January, which was very early considering I wasn't planning to move until August/September. However, he still called me after I emailed him to get an understanding of who I was, my budget, and what I'd be looking for in an apartment. Marsanne was absolutely amazing helping me and my boyfriend find a place on incredibly short notice! Relocating from the Bay Area for work I had spent weeks on all of the apartment sites looking at stuff, reading bad reviews and was just getting frustrated with not knowing what was the best option. The Best Free Employee You Will Ever Have! During our first phone call Clay came right out and said he aims to be the best free employee I have ever had. After all our interactions I would say he is not only is he the best free employee, he would definitely be in contention for best period! My wife and I are relocating from the Houston area and had little time to actually be on the ground looking at apartments. We had 2 or 3 phone calls with Clay to detail what we were looking for and our budget. Clay was very respectful of the budget (even though we were interested in an area where our budget was closer to the bottom of what was available). In prior moves we have used apartment locators and typically found they had ulterior motives and would try to get you in the apartment paying the most commission, not necessarily the best for us. Clay broke that mold! It was obvious he actually cared about what we wanted and put that above any commission a particular community was offering. We had planned on viewing apartments for a day and a half. Clay put together a list of some great looking apartments and spent time with us to cut through the advertising flair to give us the true story behind the neighborhoods, buildings and management teams. He didn't sugar coat anything, if a building was in a questionable or "in transition" neighborhood he was up front. He understood the building construction and even what you would be looking at from a noise level. He was also able to ask probing questions that helped up adjust our priorities and find the perfect apartment. At the end of the first day we had found 2 places that were both awesome! He was even able to help negotiate an deal on a 25th floor unit that I would have never even considered due to the list price! With Clay's input we were able to make the decision easily and get the unit that day. We move in on May 21st and could not be more excited! I normally look at renting like buying a car, a painful experience full of wasted time. Clay's no nonsense approach made the process actually fun to be a part of. Clay sent us an email, called me on the phone, and really talked to me about what we needed. None of the other apartment finding services were as prompt, thorough, or on-top-of-it. When we met up with Clay & Christina, they listened to everything we said, found the best apartments to show us, and truly advocated for us at every property. They never tried pushing us towards a unit we didn't want, even reminding us when we starting looking a bit beyond our means that the apartment was nice, but they had to be the "voice of reason." I have nothing but great things to say about my experience- and I very rarely can say that about a business! Jennifer asked me my preferences (location, price, apartment size etc) and sent me about 7 apartment complexes with a moderately long great explanation that was personalized to why it may be a great fit. Some were not the exact location where I thought I'd want to be, but she explained her reasoning for including them and in the end, I chose one in a location outside of the zone I asked her to find! She offered to even tour with me, which was unexpected for an apartment search! It came to two choices, and even asked her to help me decide which one based on my personality and needs, and she ultimately 'hinted' at the best place for me. She hit the nail on the head, and I'm in a perfect apartment that I'm thrilled with. Of note- she found deals on apartments that I couldn't even find on my own on their website. It's a no brainier to use this service- it wasn't a cost to me, and it actually saved me money as she found a "one month free" deal I wouldn't have found on my own. Clay was a huge factor regarding where I ultimately decided to live. I walked into cadence apartments on a whim to see I could do a walk in tour. I quickly realized that their units were quite a bit higher than my price point but figured it wouldn't hurt to take a look around. I communicated this to Clay, expecting him to lose interest in me or to give me a half hearted tour. On the contrary, he was extremely enthusiastic and helpful and put in a lot of effort to understand my housing needs. He also gave great information about the Denver housing market as well as how cadence apts specifically was a good deal. He took care to make some small talk, which was really appreciated after talking to other brusque agents who were basically trying to push a sale. I can't properly articulate how helpful Clay was. I had a very limited time in Denver and really wanted to find a fantastic new home and Clay made it happen! Even before I met him in person, our communication via email and phone was extremely helpful. I truly can't say enough about his level of knowledge, from facts about Denver to various aspects about building construction, Clay knows his stuff. Clay really helped me a lot with this move, especially with my erratic schedule. He sent me a list of ~20 (? or more) apartments after I told him what I was looking for and I was able to choose my future apartment from that list. He accommodated with my schedule and drove me around to the apartments in the 3-4 hour gap I had before catching my plane. He even drove me back to the Union Station light rail so I had no trouble getting to the airport. He is very knowledgeable about the area and without him, I don't think I could have made the decision as easily as I did, especially in a very short time frame. We moved from Columbus, Ohio and did not have a chance to visit Denver before the big move. We were really nervous about signing a lease to a place we had never seen. Clay was instrumental in helping us find our perfect home! He listened to our needs and was very honest with us. The second we pulled up in front of the Manhattan we knew we made the right choice. Words do not describe how amazing our apartment is!! Our apartment is in the perfect location. We feel so safe and welcomed by other people in the building. Our dog loves having a dog park so close!
