I was referred to Dr. Liddell by my son's orthodontist. I have to say this office and Dr are exceptional! From scheduling to surgery everything went extremely smoothly. Dr. Liddell had the best bed side manner, which lacks these days. It's hard to read any of these negative reviews as we can't imagine this office being anything but stellar! My son was extremely comfortable, surgery went amazing. They even gave him a blanket and now it's his favorite. I thought it was sweet they even let him pick the music in the room to listen to. This is a high powered practice and for me they've overlooked the personal issues we patients experience. I won't use them again. They took me off my heart medications for several days, had me start antibiotics for a procedure, and at 530pm the night before the surgery I received a text that my procedure was "unfortunately" canceled; that I should call them to reschedule. Nothing else was mentioned-no guidance about the heart medication, or the other meds prescribed. It's just a business to them. When I did not reschedule I got a call from a front office scheduler, shared my displeasure, asking her to pass this along and up. I never heard anything back. I frankly doubt it was ever transmitted, or if it was, it was ignored. Hope this helps someone out there. read more

My son is a patient of Dr. Hale. Our family's experience of his "care" has been disheartening. In the process of my son having his wisdom teeth removed, Dr. Hale has been judgmental, denied the patient's pain, and shown a gross lack of empathy. From our first consult to our emergency re-pack, Dr. Hale has shown that he either doesn't have the basic people skills necessary in his field or that he chose not to use those on my child. At the outset of our consult, he asked if my son Silas, a senior in high school, used any drugs. My son was honest about his use of marijuanna. I knew because we have an open and honest relationship and he has suffered from depression, and after exploring other meds, marijuanna had the least side effects. He asked no questions and decided that that was a negative thing. My son has straight A's and is going off to college in the fall, but from there forward, he was curt and impatient. Five days after surgery, my son lost his blood clots and was immediately in tremendous pain from dry socket. We immediately contacted the Dr. to ask for advice. He stated that he "doesn't believe in dry socket." Strange position since his customized post-opp literature with his name on it, talks explicitly about dry socket. The pain didn't dissipate, and two days later (day 7 post-surgery), my child still hadn't improved; we reached out again to ask if we needed more medication. He advises on coming in so he can put some packing in it to manage the pain. Because my child was already in pain and anxious about more suffering, when the Dr. put the first packing in, his pain was immense (screaming, crying). In the face of a 17-year-old boy who was crying and writhing in pain, the Dr. started denying that he was having pain. I have never witnessed such a dearth of empathy from anyone in the medical field. It seemed more important for the Dr. to be right ("You're not in pain," "You didn't swallow a blot clot," "I've done this for 15 years and never seen this") than to help remove the pain and help the patient. The God complex that Dr. Hale displayed was especially damaging because there was a resident there whom he was teaching; the thought of his lessons being passed on was a frightening prospect. The history in the medical field of denying the pain of Black patients is long. Dr. Hale created more pain and suffering than he treated on 3.8.24. A practitioner who either has NO TOOLS (or chooses not to use those tools) to help patients, especially children, manage dental anxiety and pain is tragic for someone of his tenure. As a parent, I had to manage my son's pain and manage a Doctor who seemed not to see my son's humanity. This was a burden in a situation where we came to the Doctor for support. When I had a conversation with him afterward, he suggested that I be "strict" and "tough" in responding to my child's pain. As a 55-year-old mother of two, receiving parenting advice to be callous to my son's pain after major surgery speaks to his utter lack of self/social awareness and makes one question his medical fitness. AVOID DR. HALE AT ALL COST!! When I went to his description of himself on the website, I couldn't believe that he thinks of himself as a compassionate Dr. Or perhaps that compassion is only for "certain" patients. All the other people in this practice were a pleasure to work with. This man needs to retire, and stop giving Colorado Oral Surgery a bad reputation. He is the rotten apple in the bunch. And he is spreading his "technique" to a new generation of dentist. read more

The doctors are pretty good, the front staff is honestly horrible. They refuse to work with you if you have a primary and secondary insurance. The front staff have no customer care in them what's so ever. I wouldn't go here. They'll just take your money and put you through a the most ridiculous insurance process. there's a reason people get secondary insurance. Who is the H wants to pay almost 2 grand, have them go to your secondary and then issue a refund if they approve it ?? My experience with the staff was very negative. They needed a referral for jaw surgery from my insurance to make an appointment. On the day I requested it and was on file, they told me I could get one appointment 7 months later, in mid-July, but they could not confirm it. I called the next morning (only a few hours later), and they said they could only make the appointment once they received confirmation of the referral and that now there were not spots in July. This meant I would have to wait at least two weeks to make the appointment and potentially get a spot in November, if I'm lucky. They proposed to put me on a "preferential" list, which means nothing. To me, this is an absurdity. The referral was in process; it was going to be approved (I had the surgery approved in another State), but they would rather have me lose months of my time rather than having the extremely slim chance of them losing two weeks. Think that this appointment is only for a consultation. It seems to me they only care about making the life of the doctor easier and difficult for the client. Of course they can have in place their own policies, but I rather put my money and health in companies that understand the client's position as well. I cancelled the referral request. read more

Was under the treatment of Dr Liddell when something horrible went wrong with my PT and I started having excruciating pain. I had no idea what had happened. I called and they said doc was out of town. I said fine, can I see anyone else. This is an emergency. She said. No. I could see doc in 8 days...the following Wed. WTF. I went immediately to my dentist who escorted me next door after evaluating me and my X-rays and the oral surgeon graciously saw me immediately, removed two teeth (1 of which was impacted in my upper jaw) that had nerve damage and had gotten infected above the gum. Today my son had all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Hale. We went previously for our consultation upon the recommendation of our dentist and had an appt scheduled for this morning. Everything went smoothly and as planned. The office is clean and I could see the front desk staff continuously cleaning and sanitizing. Dr. Hale took good care of my son and walked us through the aftercare thoroughly and gave us his cell # to call/text/reach after hours of we had any issues. My son is resting comfortably now. All in all, we had excellent, efficient care. Dr. Hale also called us in the late afternoon to check in and make sure everything was okay and that we didn't need any additional help or have any issues. Great stuff! read more

Dr. Matthew Alleman (DMD) did a fantastic job on my wisdom tooth extraction. Not only did he do great work in performing the extraction, but the procedure went very smoothly and very quickly. I was really dreading having this done, but I was really surprised at how quick and painless the whole procedure was. After taking just one ibuprofen right after the procedure, I am basically pain-free! Also, the dental assistant was informative and the office staff was friendly and efficient. Their pricing was very fair and I feel that the value I received exceeded the price. In addition, the doctor actually gives his patients his personal cell phone number so that you can follow up with him after the procedure - that's truly going above and beyond - and sure enough, I texted him to follow up that same night and he responded immediately and assured me that the tooth socket was healing as it should. I feel comfortable and confident that I am back on the road to being healthy again. So to sum up my experience, I would absolutely highly recommend this doctor and his practice. I received a detailed preauthorization from both my insurance company and Colorado Oral Surgery for the amount my wisdom teeth extraction procedure would cost, and I paid the full amount the day of the service. No extra medication or services were provided outside the original service quoted. Months later I am receiving bills for hundreds of dollars stating I have an outstanding balance. I'm guessing my experience is an anomaly for this practice but perhaps it would be helpful for them and others to be aware of it. I am trying to schedule a surgeon to do an implant but was given the run-around, told I would receive a call back on scheduling a procedure but never heard back, called again and was sent to over to an unknown extension, called again and was told I had to stick with the original doctor who did my consultation even though I paid for that meeting and was starting over. Too much time and effort to stick with all this. I won't be giving my business to this practice for these reasons. They may seem petty but that initial customer experience goes a long way in a patient feeling like they are in good hands. read more

I was a new patient of Dr. Hale's (Parker Office). I had a dual extraction of 2 broken molars on 5/31/23. I live in Green Valley Ranch (not very close, but I thought I would be taken care of). The reason I am giving such a low mark is because of the front office. The receptionist promised me, that she would provide me a receipt to submit for FSA reimbursement. I even double checked asking, "Are you sure this will work?". She responded, "Yes we do this all the time. We know what they need." For the first stage I paid out of pocket $1,840. Of course the FSA processing company denied the claim, because the receipt wasn't sufficient, for what they need. Now I am $1,840 in the cold and was told by the dr'.s office, that they would not be able to provide what is needed for about 60 days. That is NOT acceptable to me. So now I am going to take my business elsewhere and have the work finished by another dental surgeon, and I am going to leave this VERY bad review, in the hopes that others read it, and think twice about trusting Colorado Oral Surgery. I was able to acquire my own EOB (Explanation of Benefits). Come to find out that they charged me over 100% of the negotiated rates. So, not only did I pay 100% of this up front, they charged me even more. When I inquired about why they would do this, I was met with the uncaring attitude. that's just how we do it. I then inquired why they didn't refund me the amount based upon the negotiated rates, rather than their full price? YOU WANT TO BE SITTING FOR THIS... the gal from their Texas billing office so rudely quipped, "We can charge you whatever we want!" Is that how this group of offices conduct their affairs? Is this not horribly unethical? I am extremely knowledgeable when it comes to insurance and reimbursements, and how all of this works. If I were you. I would NEVER do business with this group. EVER! Dr. Lurcott is a gem. They took me as an emergency case on referral from my dentist and helped me out. It cost a fortune - insurance didn't cover - but if it means being taken care of by a specialist (Dr. Lurcott is apparently an all-in-one man), I guess it's worth it. They took great care in explaining next steps (although, I was too distracted to catch more than every other line). Luckily, everything was written out on their instruction sheet they sent me home with, and I mean word-for-word; I've referred back to it several times. In the event of additional questions/concerns, I was given Dr. Lurcott's cell phone to call 24/7. My healing is going well, so that vouches for his good work. 4 stars instead of 5 because...this place is not fun. I was also taken 30 minutes late and left waiting several times, but I get it - I was an emergency squeeze-in. That said, I think Dr. Lurcott did great work and even explained random bits of the procedure, so we could bond over geeky curiosity. That was brilliant! It made the absolutely horrific experience I was going through fun (I can't believe I just wrote that). We made the world's best lemonade out of the worst lemons. Logistics: Colorado Oral Surgery is in the Wells Fargo building. Park in the lot (which says "private parking" - I left a written sign on my dash for good measure), and take the elevator to the 4th floor. __________ Quick update: I went back to see Dr. Lurcott twice after this visit, and he was as great as before. In my initial review above, I mentioned being given his cell phone number (everyone gets it on the healing packet), and I actually made use of it when I had a question while traveling overseas. He picked up in a nanosecond and was courteous and helpful. Good man. I wish he did standard dentistry, too. He's so talented and knowledgeable, I felt very safe putting my teeth in his hands. (Well, that sounds weird. Haha.) _____________________ **Update: Feb. 2015 Making this 5 stars because it's a no-brainer -- Dr. Lurcott deserves 10 stars. I came all the way from Nevada to have a Bilateral alloplastic TMJ reconstruction Lefort 1 osteotomy Anterior horizontal mandibular osteotomy done by Dr. Liddell. Shorter version a 10 hour TMJ replacement surgery and upper and lower jaw pulled forward. I had to stay for 5 months for rehab away from my husband but IT WAS SO WORTH IT! I came out of it looking and feeling better than I have been in almost a decade. I can eat anything I want now including something as simple as a burger. He's funny and has great bed side manner and great all around. I highly recommend him to anyone facing a long reconstructive surgery. They claimed they didn't receive a payment from insurance when it was sent 6 days ago. First, my rating is NOT related to excellent work of the Dr. Liddell. Dr. Liddell's work is exemplary. He is the best surgeon. My comment is related to the clinic manager and billing. I paid the ESTIMATED difference between insurance and what I would owe prior to surgery with the understanding that if I overpaid, it would be returned to me. I currently have a $2,800 dollar overpayment and the practice is stalling repaying me. They keep asking if they can credit a card back, any card...it doesn't matter. My cards do not have a balance and they need to cut me a check. I paid for the surgery in good faith and they are not acting in good faith to refund my money. They have a contract with my insurance to accept what they insurance contracted rate. They are in violation of the contract by keeping my overpayment. read more

Dr. Hale is the man. I'm not an easy patient by any measure, I get anxious, call too much, and get worked up over small things. Dr. Hale was patient, reassuring, and very professional throughout. Not to mention, he was extremely responsive and adaptive to how my preferred style of care. I had four wisdom teeth removed, two of which were impacted and grown in, and two of which that were maybe 10% away from being impacted. I was in and out in a little over an hour. The post-operation care was great. As mentioned, Dr. Hale was always there to clarify my concerns, was flexible to see me earlier than we scheduled because I was anxious, and was overall was willing to take time outside of typical hours to ensure I was recovering as intended. Beyond Dr. Hale, the whole Team is great. Two weeks out now and the extraction areas are healing very well. I just wrapped up a cleaning and check-up visit with my dentist and she even commented on how well everything was healing. I know oral surgery can be scary - but Dr. Hale makes the whole experience as easy as humanly and professionally possible. Great dude, great practice, exceptional experience. read more

I highly recommend Dr Liddell! A couple months after surgery I gave a rating of 1 star but the poor rating was not related to Dr Liddell's work. I had a bad experience related to billing. Everything has since been resolved so it's only fair that I update my rating to a 5! The ladies at the the front office are so nice and accommodating. Dr Liddell did an incredible job on diagnosing and educating me on options to consider. I decided on arthroscopic jaw surgery to reposition my discs on both sides. Surgery was out patient. While having this kind of surgery is never fun, Dr. Hale's bedside manner was outstanding and he thoroughly explained everything he was going to do before he did it and even while it was happening. I have been a patient of Dr. Wachuta' for many years. I got to the point where I needed dentures or implants. I went to a one-day implant dentist and received a quote of $56,000.00. I mentioned this to Dr. Wachuta about my experience. He stated that was very expensive and that I could get everything for $20,000.00. I asked him if he could recommend a place that I could go to? Dr. Wachuta gave me the name of an oral surgeon which was Colorado Oral Surgery on Colorado Blvd. I made an appointment to see Dr. Matthew K. Alleman. I was given an estimate of $26,000.00. I knew that I could go ahead. After everything was done and I returned for my follow-up appointment. I asked Alleman what is the next step in getting my final implants and was told I would have to go back to Dr. Wachuta for my Final Prosthesis. Dr. Wachuta gave me a price of $25,000.00 for my Final Prosthesis... NOW I AM WALKING AROUND WITHOUT ANY TEETH!!! Medical issues and insurance all have their problems. As a member of this endeavor, I took responsibility and worked with the office and figured everything out with them and my insurance. My issue was complicated as it included health and dental insurance. In the end the office and I worked through the issues. No big deal. Doc Lidell has been a great physician and investigator in helping me with a problem I have had since July of 2017. Together we have fixed what was a very perplexing issue for many before. Dr Lurcott is quite amazing!! My case of a failed root canal with a buried molar on its side underneath was not cut & dry. It required surgery & bone grafting with a final post for an implant. I listened to all his advice before during & after and the outcome was outstanding! After the surgery Dr Lurcott called to check in on me personally that was very reassuring! It was a big surgery. It's taken a year from beginning to end with all the healing time in between but it was sooooo worth it. I trusted Dr Lurcott & knew I was in excellent hands. He's talented knowledgeable & this is his expertise! The army of staff in this office are kind and always on top of things. It's a well oiled machine that has only the patients as their top priority! They're very busy, the best always are so Don't be frustrated if your appointment is the following week! It's worth it. You can stop looking around for another place. I am happy to offer this 5-star recommendation for Dr Michael Hale and also for Jared Russell, the office manager for the practice's lovely office in Parker. I was referred to Dr Hale by my Humana Medicare Advantage plan, and this proved to be a great referral for my needs. I am still impressed at the lack of pain and discomfort I have experienced subsequent to the extraction of my upper middle front teeth along with the large infection and encapsulated duct that had begun killing my teeth. This was done in their office, not an outpatient surgery center, and I could not have been more comfortable and felt more confident of a favorable outcome. My thanks to Dr Hale and his assistants for this. I also offer my highest compliments and appreciation to Jared, who worked closely with Humana to get my procedures including sedation covered by my Humana medical benefits per Medicare guidelines. This took great knowledge of Medicare and insurance benefits, as well as persistence, and Jared's success saved me more than $3500. I will start this review out by saying that I didn't actually go to Colorado oral surgery to have my wisdom teeth taken out but rather their doctors were filling in at an office that I was at (although i wish I just went directly to Colorado oral surgery and will from this point forward). I am an extremely anxious patient, I do not do well with needles at all and just being in a medical setting can send me into a full blown panic and I shut down. I had my consultation with dr. Hale and he was amazing! I felt like he completely understood my anxiety and he was able to calm my fears to a manageable level that day and just talked to me in such a calm and reassuring manner. On my actual surgery day I had dr. Alleman and I don't remember much of the day at all (thank you drugs) but my boyfriend who was with me at the time said that he was very kind, calming, and professional to both me and my boyfriend. (He also must of had a fair amount of patience to deal with me freaking out). Following surgery we were provided with his personal phone number to contact him on if there were any problems at all and the few times we did have to contact him his responses were very quick and his instructions were very thorough. Knowing what I know now if I ever have to go to or recommend an oral surgeon again I will without a doubt go with Colorado oral surgery. read more

I had an accident two weeks ago at my home, I fell and broke my nose and had a cut under my right eye. I bled quite a lot and was rushed to the ER at the Medical Center at Aurora South, after becoming stable I was admitted into the hospital. This hospital uses Colorado Oral Surgery for trauma facial patients and they give great care to facial injuries. My wife said that the surgery went quickly and she was kept informed as to the progress during my recovery. My health during the surgery was carefully monitored as was the followup a week later when they removed the stitches. I'm healing pretty quick and my nose and the cut under my right eye are blending into my facial features. I've never used a facial surgery specialist before but Colorado Oral Surgery performed flawlessly. I'll recommend Colorado Oral Surgery practice for facial injuries. read more
