I caught the festival 2 days in a row this year on both Saturday and then I went back for more on Sunday! I'm so glad I went back on Sunday because I discovered that the whole inside area was NOT just overflow seating, but that there was a dining area and like a buffet-type of area and wine bar area and the kitchen demo area was in there too and another performance area AND a beautiful prayer book store!!!! WHAT!? I had no idea that was all in there so I hope they have that next year - I will explore those areas more! Saturday, I got my favorite Saganaki - flaming cheese!!! and I got the greek chicken dinner that came with greek potatoes and a deliciously light and fresh greek salad! Also got a whipped greek coffee at the coffee bar! New this year: I did get to the upper level retail vendor area and new GROCERY area which was SO delightful and intriguing. I had to look up what some of the items were but it was all very exciting. They had different rusks which - I don't know what those are but I will look into it and hopefully get some next year. They also had a lot of cheeses in the refrigerator and dairy products like lebnah and then a sour cherry drink??!! So next year I will be prepared and try some of those things and bring them home! I was looking for the Moussaka which I tried for the first time last year but I was told that they didn't have it and that they do a skip year or something and that this year they had pastitio instead, so I tried that and it was similar with the meat filling, béchamel and cinnamon and was like a casserole and it was very delicious! Also got another round of the flaming saganaki cheese which is SO good with the greek salad! I love all the social media they did this year for the event on instagram and I had even seen many clips of them on local news on YouTube leading up to the event! Very cool! So glad I got to check out 2 days of this festive community event!

The elevator had apparently broke on Friday and had trapped someone inside according to one worker. Long lines and high prices for the foods and drinks. Little shade and few places to sit. Then one of the vendors, 2 Greeks, were stealing money from people. They didn't bring change, so if you were paying cash, they would just keep the change. So, very crooked vendors. If you go to this once in a lifetime is enough, but I would recommend just not going. Parking was also not good. We tried to get there early, but they still had church going, so what was supposed to be the handicap lot was full of non-handicap cars. They only good thing I can say about the event was the female head of security was nice.

The vendors have "pods" a great idea to be able to lock up at night. You do have to be careful and step up into them if you want to see items closer. Kindertransport was the informal name of a series of rescue efforts which brought thousands of refugee Jewish children to Great Britain from Nazi Germany between 1938 and 1940. Only 10 percent of them ever saw their parents again. Very moving and thought-provoking play about mothers, daughters and the powerful need for reconciliation? Or is it a story of escape and survival, which is captivating and ultimately uplifting? All the actors did a great job performing the characters. Again, Denver just abounds with so many talented actors! It's playing from Oct 30 to Dec 14. Must see play so we never forget about the horrors of this time period. There are 7 survivors from the Kindertransport living in Denver and fortunately 6 were able to be reunited with their parents. After the play there was a question/answer period with Peter Hamburger, one of the Kindertransport survivors that lives in Denver, Diane Gilboa, the Producing Artistic Director and Founder of Theatre Or and some of cast members. Very moving and so wonderful to be able to hear his story and learn more about the production. Plenty of free parking and they also have other small venues inside the main area.

They greeted us immediately and gave us a map of the property. We had fun walking around and checking out the animals and historic buildings on site. It is wild this place is right in the middle of a neighborhood. The only issue we had was parking because we the lot is full you're out of options.

Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

What a beautiful place in the middle of a city!…read more My friend is a photographer and we thought she'd get some great pictures here so we booked a day at the garden. Entry was easy and there were so many people but the garden grounds are so big that you never feel crowded. It was a very hot day, I think it was close to 100° so we really enjoyed some of the inside areas as well as the shaded areas. I'd love to visit again when I'm back in Denver.

My sister and I…read morevisited on Friday around noon and had a fun, relaxing time leisurely strolling through the various gardens/parks, all geographically themed. The water lilies were one of my favorites but I also appreciated the cactus exhibit, a little throwback to my desert dwelling days! We also got an ice cream cup at the Hive cafe which really hit the spot and revived me personally after having walked around for an hour or so in the sweltering heat. We also walked through to Jaume humanism exhibit. Very interesting! For under $20 per person, it's definitely an affordable and high-value experience. Also easy to get to via Denver RTD. @azfitfoodfun
