Spent 4 hours there and $250+tip to walk out with natural looking hair, not like any of the three inspiration pictures I sent with obvious highlights and lowlights. Not sure why the couple stylists I've tried there seem to always want to do baby-lights and super blend my highlights in. This particular stylist even said "oh I put them underneath the top layer" when I asked "where are the highlights/lowlights" after she rinsed and dried my hair. I don't know... it's a nice color/cut if that is what I asked for, but it's not what I wanted. read more

I live in San Francisco and was in Duluth for an extended stay and had to get my color done, I was a little nervous not going to my regular colorist. I went to Lauren and was very happy with the results! I had taken my daughter to have her hair colored, looked great at first but apparently after 3 washes it was 1/3 of the way gone and 12-13 days later totally out. Her mom had to go to Walmart to redo it herself. I spent over $200 plus a hefty tip. I said something on a social media app "you should have said something so I could have redone it!" My daughter lives on the Range its not that "easy" staff was great product & coloring experience not so much. Dont think we will be back. I got married in October 2018 in Duluth, we live in the TC and had an in-state destination wedding in our favorite city. The Color Lounge and Day Spa did not disappoint! Everyone from the receptionist to the stylists and artists were FANTASTIC. Everyone was professional, highly skilled and personable- they truly made it a great experience! The salon itself is welcoming, clean and comfortable. Dawn A did mine and my mom's hair, Maddie did my sister's and Stephanie did all of our make-up. Dawn did such a great job on my hair it not only looked gorgeous but it held up impressively well to a very windy Duluth day taking outside photos with our photographer. Everyone told me how beautiful I looked, not something that I am used to hearing regularly... and I truly felt beautiful. All the guests were incredibly complimentary on how all 3 of us looked- both hair and make-up and I could not have asked for better on the most important day of my life. Thank you!!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went in for a make up trial for my wedding. The girl started doing my make up was very sweet and acted professional, but after discussion with her she told me she was still in high school with no professional education. My make up was terrible, she re-did it and it was still terrible. I left without saying anything (which I regret) and payed for the trial. I emailed Tessa, the wedding coordinator, with my concerns, since she emailed me the next day to check in and see how things went. I was very polite and shared with her my concerns and she never responded. This is not a professional business and they do not respond to concerns. Would not recommend them to anyone since they have unlicensed/educated employees and do not mention that to customers. *I also had my engagement photos scheduled for afterwards, which I was told is a good idea. I had to run back to the hotel room and wash off my make up and do it myself. read more

Holly did my bridal updo and makeup, and she was absolutely fantastic! She and a few other ladies from the salon came to our hotel the morning of the wedding. They were professional and efficient, and managed to make my bridesmaids' hairstyles look very similar even though they all had different hair types and lengths. I'd given Holly an idea of what I wanted via Pinterest pictures, and she totally nailed both hair and makeup. Her airbrush makeup was so lightweight you forget it's there (but it stayed all night!), and the individual false lashes are MUCH better than the strips used by places like BB cosmetic bar (I gave them a try before going to the Colour Lounge- even asking for a re-do, they couldn't seem to get the look I was going for). I'd highly recommend Colour Lounge for your bridal party or special event!! They were wonderful to work with! read more

I absolutely recommend this salon!! Speaking from someone who is obsessed with her hair, I will only go to colour lounge! I have been going colour lounge since it has been opened! They have serviced me with my nails, natural beaded row extensions for my hair, and does the best on waxing! I just recently had the bridal services for me and all of my party! We had the best customer service! For my very special day, bri and her team came to my hotel to complete our hair and makeup! I'm not sure if I should try a different stylist or a different salon. I had my hair colored by Mandy and while it wasn't what I wanted, it was alright. I got home that night and was up through the entire night itching my head. I got up early the next morning to wash my hair (usually I don't when I just get color done) because I couldn't handle the itching. I then noticed I had dark color around my whole face frame, behind my ears, in the crevices of my ears. I wanted to just call it a sick day from work. Clearly the issue was that she didn't wash the dye out good enough. When I then washed my hair, I scrubbed and scrubbed it. And then washed it again. I'm on day 2 and I am STILL constantly itching. My scalp is all red and I'm getting bumps on my skin probably because it's irritated from itching. I called Mandy and left a message with the receptionist to see if she could call me back and tell me what the heck to do about this, but I haven't heard anything back. Not to mention I also had my head laying in the sink for probably 45 minutes to the point where my neck is extremely sore and stiff - I have had trouble turning, looking down, looking up the past two days because of it. If people are going to have their heads in the sink for that long the sinks need more cushion for the neck. I have never had such bad neck problems. Not a good experience, at all. I gave two stars because my hair itself turned out fine. read more

Everyone was nice but I wouldn't recommend getting eyelash extensions there. I have had eyelash extensions for 2-3 years now and have been to several different people/salons. I used to do them myself as well, so I know the process and how they are supposed to be done. I've dealt with a few different brands so I know whats good and whats not. When putting on the extensions, you are supposed to tape down the bottom lashes so that they do not stick when you open your eyes. Jamie did not do that. She spent a good 30 minutes trying to peel/pick them apart. It was an uncomfortable process. When I could finally open my eyes, several of my bottom lashes had been ripped out and were stuck in the extensions, poking down into my eye. I had to go home and peel them out myself. I thought the extensions themselves, despite the poor quality of the lashes (they were hard and rough) looked okay. I started noticing they were poking me so I looked closer and noticed the extensions were not even put on my natural lashes themselves, but glued onto my eyelid. Most permanent lash glues are extremely strong and high in fume and ARE NOT meant to come in contact with skin. They were falling off in chunks themselves so I decided after a few days to just take them all off. I called the salon to let them know what happened and asked if they could redo them. They would not refund me or offer to do them again. I am bummed because I have been searching forever to find a place that does a good job and cannot find one. read more
