This outlet store is jam packed with inventory. To the point where sometimes it's hard to find the items you're looking for. It also means that it can be tough to navigate around if you have something like a stroller or if there is a crowd of people. Checkout line area is also too small for the amount of business they make which means it often spills out in to the shopping area. So, ultimately, this just isn't the most easily navigable store. With that said, Columbia is a very high quality brand and the prices at this outlet store are good enough that it often make its downfalls worth dealing with. There was an employee named Cayenne, and I was actually told not to ask her anything because she doesn't like being asked questions--which already felt concerning. I'll briefly explain what happened. I had some items being held at the register, and I only asked about those. Her attitude was very rude--she didn't respond to me directly, and her facial expressions already felt negative. She asked another employee to grab the items, but I didn't hear that, so I mentioned that my items might be behind the register. At that point, she raised her voice and said, "My coworker said she's bringing them!!" in a very harsh tone. I told her I hadn't heard that and asked why she was speaking to me that way, and whether she was having a bad day. She replied, "No, you didn't want us to hold your items anyway." I explained that I had spoken to a blonde employee earlier and confirmed that my items could be held there--but she completely ignored me and continued acting as if I wasn't there. At that point, due to the level of disrespect, I asked to speak with a manager. Thankfully, Amy was amazing and handled the situation very professionally--this rating is largely for her. Also, I don't know the name of the other employee who brought my items, but she was very kind and helpful. I'm not sure what Cayenne's issue was, but I sincerely hope it had nothing to do with my accent. read more

I love Columbia and have always been able to find plenty of performance/active apparel at various locations over the years. Living on a boat means having clothes that aren't just cotton. If you're out sailing and you get wet-you stay wet . Hence the need for performance/active gear with SPF and quick drying features. Columbia always has stylish yet function-able clothes that are well priced. And their sales are great! This was my first visit to this particular location, and it is similar to the other stores I've been to. It was well stocked, and I found exactly what I was looking for easily quickly. They have plenty of dressing rooms and I went right in. The clothing fits me well, which always has me feeling good. I got rung up quickly, and the cashier I included a coupon for next month. A really solid outlet store to check out while visiting in the Camarillo area! Columbia product seems to always be good quality and what they have to offer at this outlet is no different than what you would find at a variety of sporting good stores/hiking outdoor stores. Great selection ranging from men's to women's to children's. Good variety and even better prices. Store is always neat and orderly - stuff is where it belongs! Staff are always friendly, even though interactions may only be limited to when you are checking out, they are plenty friendly enough and seem to value you as a customer - which is a nice change of pace from some of the other shops you may check out in the area or at other outlets. We came here last Saturday and it was perfect because there was a large clearance rack for children's winter clothing. The place was pretty crowded and my friend was able to find a children's fleeced vest for only $4 after all the discounts, and she got a really good women's windbreaker, which came with a hood in this really cute raspberry color. She also found a nice fleece jacket for her little toddler, that I believe came out to only $10. I advised her to purchase about 2 to 3 sizes up so the kid won't grow out of it so fast. I didn't buy anything but my friend did and we were happy we came here. read more

We tried on a lot of different waterproof lightweight jackets today. They have s limited supply of colors and it's s 50/50 chance on your size if you need an XL or 2X. But the prices are marked down from the regular retail, and then an extra sale price on the sign. I've been in their dressing rooms in the past, and I remember them self locking when you exit. Then you need someone to open them up again. If you don't have someone outside to show your clothes, it's okay. They also sell shoes, shirts, accessories like belts, wallets, water bottles, etc. Overall, you can find a good jacket at a reasonable price... if they have your size. read more

I just wanted to take the time to write about my 5 star experience with one of their employees whose name I unfortunately did not quite catch. I had been browsing various Columbia stores for a while now because of an upcoming trip for Europe. I wanted a waterproof windbreaker that was light enough for me to carry and small enough to pack inside my carry-on. With every single Columbia store I've gone to, I have always felt that the employees never really knew much about their own products which is sadly such a key factor they seem to miss when instilling buyer trust. As a result of that, I have always felt apprehensive when asking for help because they would just give me suggestions on products I wasn't really interested in. With this event, however, I seemed quite content with the windbreaker I was going to purchase. I was waiting to try it on in the fitting room and all stalls were full. The older lady was very nice and I just randomly asked her if the jacket I had would be ideal for my trip to Europe. She explained that the one I picked was water repellent which only works for a short distance and after asking me a couple more questions, she actually walked me through the store to see various products that best fit my needs. Had I not asked for her opinion I would never have bought the right product! I ended up picking the Morning View Windbreaker for an amazing price of $60 and I am incredibly satisfied with the product specs and most importantly, how PACKABLE it is! The jacket actually packs into itself, which I love. I am very pleased with my experience here and plan to return the next time I find myself in Camarillo. read more

Columbia makes some excellent outdoor gear and well made clothing. Since this is an outlet location, you're most likely looking for some good deals. This spot usually displays a wide selection of outerwear, shirts and pants for both men and women. They've got shoes too. Most of the stuff on the walls and up high are not going to get you a super savings. A lot of it will have some kind of discount sale going but with the markup it's typically nothing spectacular. But do some searching and you might find a good buy or two. Towards the back are the clearance racks where bigger bargains can be had but often the choices are not what you're really interested in. I have been really impressed with those location. I've frequented here the last few weeks as I've been preparing to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and do a safari in Tanzania. The employees here were really helpful in helping out with things I needed that I want very familiar with. The prices were better since it was an outlet. It was also pretty clean and well kept, which sometimes doesn't happen at outlet stores. Overall, great location with a selection that is equal to a full price store. read more

Some of my favorite hiking clothes are from this store. I needed some winter boots and was happy to find a pair of comfy black boots here. Since they had a buy more, save more sale, I also bought two pairs of ski socks and saved an additional $20. The staff was very nice. They greeted us at the door and offered helped when I was at the shoe section. They had a good selection of jackets and other winter essentials. I didn't look through the rest of the sales because I would have been tempted to spend more. I'll be back when it's camping season to get more clothes and take advantage of their sales. read more

I went in to replace "waterproof " boots that weren't waterproof. This was after I had to replace a previous pair that I had to return because the sole wore out VERY quickly. Bottom line, I was treated like I was going to steal something! One person told me that "no one else has problems with these boots, just you" and "the problem is on you" but literally brushed me off to another worker to get a credit (which I used the same time cause j needed boots). Then, the guy at the counter, when I said that I had a credit which covered the entire purchase (he tried to charge me $7), replied "show me!" I did and then he pointed to the machine and said to "use it." The machine wasn't set up so I told him that and he set it up like I was bothering him. I checked out and even though my previous receipt had my military discount on it, he didn't offer it so I didn't get it! So... I'm done with Columbia. The quality is poor and the customer service at the Camarillo Outlet store was horrible and unacceptable. read more

Amazing store all around. Love how there are so many products for sale and how the staff is super friendly and ready to assist. The long line goes by fast because there are tons of staff working during the holidays. We appreciate all of the snow boot choices for a discounted price and the great deals during the holidays. I've been shopping at Columbia Sportswear for many years ~ and my wife and I often like to drop by their Outlet Stores for really great deals. We have literally spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS with Columbia over the past 5 years. This past weekend [April 2, 2017] ~ we decided to take a drive down to our local Camarillo Store just to check out their new Summer Arrivals, etc. We found some really tempting offers [mostly winter markdown items] and proceeded to purchase over $300 in merchandise. Our problem began when we tried to use a "Community Pass" that was given to us by a very sweet associate ["Ruby"] who works at the Columbia Sportswear Outlet at Citadel [we didn't realize that it expired on March 1st]. Once again, a very sweet and kind associate ["Lisa"] advised that our Community Pass had expired ~ and offered to give me one of her own passes, so we could complete our transaction. Unfortunately, the Store Manager [a man who seemed to have a Scottish accent] pulled her aside and scolded her, basically saying that "YOU CAN'T DO THAT]! We were so disappointed, we cancelled the purchase and walked out of the store ~ amazed that our business seemingly meant nothing to this Store Manager. Instead of valuing our repeat business, this Store Manager clearly showed a complete disregard for "Customer Service". read more

This store is hit or miss depending on what sizes they have. Sometimes they have almost nothing in the smaller sizes I need and other times I've picked up a few pieces at once. Last time I was here I got some fleeces for layering, including a medium weight fleece and a couple of thinner ones.I also got a nice warm soft hat on sale and have worn it a bunch of times. If they have your size they do have some good deals. Their clothes tend to fit me better than North Face because they're not totally made for tall people. read more

Quality gear and clothing. The prices are not any better than getting them on sale at a department or sporting goods store (and definitely not better than online). In the summer there was a wide selection of fishing and hiking apparel and not so much parkas and winter gear, which totally makes sense. I did appreciate that this Columbia Outlet did make an effort to have a wider range of sizes. For instance, in the womens convertible pants there were "Short" sizes for petites. I tried two other Columbia outlets in other parts of the country within 10 days later and those did not carry Short sizes. read more

I've just been blithely zooming by on the freeway (even stopping in the outlet mall for a bathroom break--recommended by the way) and was completely ignorant of the insanely great bargains. This is only the second time I've been to a Columbia outlet, so maybe I've just been lucking out with the coupons/sales/sizes, but I just got 2 shirts and a vest (and I've been trying to find a vest that fits well without costing tons for YEARS) for what I might spend for one item at your run of the mill outdoorsy store. The member's e-mail discount coupon was fantastic! Sure, there's not as big a selection--I got a yellow shirt, since it was the only one in my size, and I hate yellow, but who really cares when its more than half off and a base layer that's going to keep me snug and warm, hiding beneath my other clothes. I'm a convert. I originally got my DH a Titanium shirt (at a pricier store), and he was so happy with it, he made me wear it on a hike, and hooked me too. We both got more in November though I only found 1 shirt I liked that fit, but then I found I didn't have to wait for a long cold hike to wear it, it was just nice to have on whenever, so I started borrowing his again. There was some sort of sale going on at this outlet store, but I ended up buying nothing. Even with the discount, I was not terribly excited with the merchandise, not was my husband. The item I was interested in was in garious colors and an ugly grey. Hats my husband was looking at were twice the price they should be, even at an outlet store. Not terribly impressed. read more
