I had an extremely disappointing experience today at Patagonia. I came in for what should have been a very simple exchange of an unworn jacket, but the interaction was immediately made uncomfortable by an employee named Maddie. From the start, she was rude, combative, sarcastic, and unnecessarily aggressive throughout the entire process. Instead of simply helping resolve the issue professionally, I was met with attitude, condescending remarks, and an overall hostile demeanor that made the experience far more difficult than it needed to be. As a customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism -- especially from a company that prides itself on customer service and brand values. The exchange itself was straightforward, yet Maddie handled it in a way that felt confrontational and unwelcoming from beginning to end. It honestly left a terrible impression of the store and the company overall. After being a customer for nearly 30 years and a brand ambassador for this company, I truly never expected to be treated this way. If this is the type of people Patagonia chooses to employ to represent their brand, I do not believe I will be moving forward with purchasing their products in the future. I went on a Saturday morning and parked across the way, in the medical office lot on Olive and Santa Clara. REVIEW: A solid 3.5 shopping experience but rounding up to 4 due to the great customer service and ease of the return I had to make. I was going on a trip to the PNW and needed (I thought) a sling/crossbody/backpack/day bag of sorts. I looked and looked and figured I should try Patagonia, because Ventura. Right? Prices are steep, but unfortunately, that is (sadly) to be expected in 2026. There were quite a lot of salespeople on the floor. They were talking to each other, but whatev. I found an employee to speak to when I had my choices narrowed down. I bought a sling bag that I was sure would do the trick, but sadly, I had buyers remorse and knew I needed something bigger before my trip. Great service. Great ease of return. This flagship Patagonia store, which is located next-door to their corporate headquarters slightly to the northwest, is done so well and really exudes the same Patagonia style that you see in their products. To give some context you will see Great Pacific Iron Works written across the top of the store, which was Patagonia's first store, opened in 1973 in the former Hobson meat-packing plant, near Chouinard's blacksmith shop, which is another product line and name you'll see often in their clothing. This part of Ventura is extremely sleepy so it's very easy to find a free street spot and there is also some EV charging available as well. The staff here is very friendly and always very attentive so it's one of the best parts about visiting. There are many different rooms inside divided by product type and there is even a tiny little museum area with all sorts of pictures and facts about the former building and Ventura. One of my favorite things about coming here is they tend to have some Ventura specific, or limited run products that you won't see in some of their larger bigger city stores. So you can really find some stuff that would otherwise be hard to find online or out of state. I try to stop here every time I pass through Ventura and would recommend to anyone else to do the same. They have products for men, women, and children, so there really is something for everyone. read more

Located at the end of downtown Ventura is Patagonia's flagship store! It used to be an iron works shop but was converted into what is now Patagonia. Inside is a little museum of things from the iron works which is super cool. There is even a steel safe there. Definitely really interesting store and speaks to their mission to reuse and recycle materials, spaces etc. The rooms are super well lit with natural light and have really high ceilings. Feels very spacious and outdoorsy. The whole interior design is super well thought out. They have a wide variety and even have wetsuit surfing stuff in another part of the store. There is an all gender bathroom. The entrance isn't too ADA accessible but there is a doorbell that says ring for assistance so staff can help with assisting up the stairs. There is handicap parking. There's also a little community library outside near the parking lot. I also heard that you can collect stickers at every Patagonia store! Make sure to come by, check out their little museum, look at some clothing and surf equipment and pick up a sticker too read more

It's nice that they have a store front here in the Central Coast, you can try on the different sizes and check out their backpacks for traveling, hiking, boating and for school or whatever you need it for. I use my travel hand sized bag for my nicer tools hehe. They have a kids section, women's, men's and another cool thing is they do buy backs and lifetime warranties to service your Patagonia gear so you can reuse it again and most services are free of charge. We recently decided to go for a drive up the coast and stopped in Ventura first thing in the morning. I have been wearing Patagonia brand clothing for quite some time. Whenever we see a Patagonia store as we travel, we always stop in to see what they had available for purchase. This location is different from the others as it's part of the original store. If you look out back, you'll see a small structure. That is the original building. The current store location was actually part of a meat packing plant as well as a bank. The vault remains open as guests walk by. It has old creaky floors and doesn't look like a clothing store at all. If you drove by, you wouldn't even know what's behind these walls. Patagonia is an outdoor enthusiast's go to store for clothing to keep you comfortable in various weather conditions. Their clothes are far from cheap but they stand behind their product! They also have a repair department on site for those tears that need mending after a grueling day of hiking or every day activities that result in a tear. The staff at this location were beyond friendly. I had trouble deciding between a couple of color patterns and they all helped me make my decision. When I needed assistance finding a jacket made from corduroy, they found a lightweight jacket, a heavy jacket, and a heavy vest that all fit the bill. I bought the heavy jacket as it would be ideal when I travel back East to see family.The staff also showed me around and provided me with some history about the property. The building itself is pretty interesting as the exterior doesn't provide any hints as to what is inside. You do have to climb some stairs to get into the store. Take your time as they felt a little steep. It was neat to see a bunch of Subarus in the parking lot because that led me to believe that most of the people that worked here also enjoyed the great outdoors. You've got to appreciate a staff that firmly believes in the product that they sell as they wear the brand and put it to the test on a daily basis! The service was outstanding. The clothing is expensive but often very worthwhile. There is often a lifetime warranty on products although you should ask before purchase. We brought in a 10 year old down jacket with a stuck zipper. They told us we should be machine washing it, not dry cleaning, as the cleaning fluid is probably the problem. They put something on the zipper to make it work and this is to wash it at home. If that doesn't fully take care of the problem then we can take it back. Seriously good service! read more

My family once stopped off here during a Christmas Eve rainstorm, they welcomed us with salmon and beer!! Sadly, that part of Ventura's Patagonia store is long gone. Like others here, I found the staff to be sneering, kind of repulsed by older people, and dismissive. The once truly compassionate staff has given way to the young, tough, and entitled sales crew. They actually told me I wasn't able to receive a return credit, since I wore the pair of pants (right after buying them). That was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back for me. The puffer jacket I got started leaking feathers from the elbow. Patagonia would send it in for repair at my expense, after I laundered it. Per the worker, repair consisted of patching the elbow seams with a "closely matching color". The worker stated multiple times that all puffer jackets are meant to be worn with an outer shell jacket, not alone; yet photos in store and online show puffers being worn with nothing on top. Limited parking is available by the store. If not, there was plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. The store exterior looks vintage and once a meat-packing plant. WHY I LOVE THIS STORE - Patagonia Heaven. You can find exclusive items you usually don't see at REI and other outdoor retailers. Most of their apparel is made to fight climate change and animal and humane rights and uses recycled materials. Prices for their clothing are pretty steep, but their money goes toward challenging environmental crises because they believe in living in a sustainable world without chronic environmental harm and for future generations. My personal favorite item is their DOWN JACKET, which I've owned for almost ten years. It has weathered all chilly camping experiences. What just happened with my order completely contradicts the ethical image Patagonia sells to the public. I paid €240 last week. One item went out of stock. Instead of refunding me, Patagonia: - kept the hold of the full €240 on my card, - placed a second €120 hold without my consent, - shipped only €120 worth of products, - and issued no refund invoice whatsoever. So right now Patagonia is holding €360 of my money, while delivering half of the order, and then your support tried to blame my bank - even though my bank confirmed that this is entirely a Patagonia payment failure. For a brand that constantly talks about responsibility, transparency and doing the right thing, this is an unacceptable way to treat customers.I never expected a "values-driven" company to withhold funds like this. Because of this situation, I have already been forced to:-freeze my bank card before traveling- initiate a chargeback-start formal EU complaints for unlawful withholding of funds and lack of refund documentation If Patagonia truly stands for the values it advertises, your European finance/accounting team should fix this immediately instead of hiding behind outsourced call centers reading scripts and shifting blame. Great place to check out the newest items for outdoor clothes for hiking, running, snow, or casual wear. This location is the headquarters. Love their sales which happens twice a year. Great time to purchase their Better Sweater fleece or jackets. I also like their down jackets which keep me warm. Also easy to shop online and they have web sales all the time. Just need to spend $99+ for free shipping. They also have a price adjustment policy where if something you buy goes on sale within 14 days you can ask for the difference but only applies for online purchases. I asked someone at the store for prior in-store purchases if they honor or match the 14 day price adjustments online and I was told no. One star knocked off for that. Otherwise, love the return policy! You can return anything anytime as long as you have receipt and tags. If not then they'll give you store credit at the lowest selling price. I've finally reached this long awaited destination and found the store beautifully adorned with all of its Patagonia products for the winter, as their summer products have changed out. No sales yet, but I am looking for the newest clothing, which is of high quality and saving the environment. I know that plastic recycling is difficult and not 100 percent, but just the idea of not wasting any product and re-using our great used clothing is something I've always believed in. This is a nicely decorated Patagonia store. It's located in a "not so obvious" location, right next to a building that looks like a Daycare (not so sure) The size of this store is pretty big. They have three sections, when you walk in, you will see a children's section right when you walk in. Then, there's the main room, which has the newest and the most popular styles for adults, both men and women. Then, there's the third section, which involves outdoor gear for skiing, and other activities. There is also a small section for backpacks, and accessories. I recently purchased my first Patagonia jacket. I had ordered it online and received it within a week. Unfortunately, after the first time I wore it I noticed the thread was pilling. Seemed odd this would happen so early on. I decided to call the Ventura store to talk to them about this. I spoke with a girl that was very friendly and said they'd be happy to swap it out for me. She said they didn't have my same color and size in store, but they could order it for me and it would be shipped to my home. Today I made my way to the store to take my jacket for the exchange. Btw-This is the flagship store, which I think is pretty cool. They are handling Covid well- there was a gentleman outside the door, he asks what you're there for and then determines how to best take care of you. I let him know about my exchange, and he said I could go in and do it at the front counter. Immediately inside the front door is the counter and he asked the girl standing nearby to help me. She did show me some other sizes and colors in the jacket, which I ended up deciding on another size and color for my replacement jacket. She also apologized for the pilling and said that wasn't normal at all to happen so early on. The store employees I dealt with were friendly and helpful. The store itself is clean and laid out very nicely, and the building was some other business from years before. Has some history to it. I left the store having had a good experience. And now I'm eagerly awaiting my replacement jacket (which should arrive in about one week's time). read more

I typically don't post reviews, but I seriously do not feel comfortable walking into this location. I almost felt profiled while I was there. I went in with the intention of purchasing some items for the new season and to my surprise, they had plenty of options so I grabbed about three to try on. As I was walking around, still browsing, I was approached numerous times and asked if I would like for them to take my things to the register and repeatedly had to explain that I was wanting to try them on. This is sort of when the discomfort started and did not feel welcomed. Once I tried my things on, I browsed a bit more and settled on my options and took my things to the register. I mentioned to the cashier that I would like to use my membership with my purchase and he asked, "what membership?". To which I answered, "I have a Patagonia membership I would like to use." Which he then responded, "umm, there is no Patagonia membership." I had to use the entire name of the type of membership I had only for him to say, "oh, you have a membership?" I gave him my information and he finally pulled me up and went through my items only to tell me that my discount was not applicable to two of the three items I was planning on purchasing. I told him it was fine and decided to purchase the one item, despite already feeling anxious for practically being questioned for having a membership. After leaving, I checked the items I was denied online and my discount was actually applicable. I will be returning my item purchased and making all of my purchases online going forward. This was a very disheartening experience and while I know this doesn't speak to the political values Patagonia has, I believe they should consider their staff at their locations just a little more to better align with them. read more

The representative suggested I purchase multiple sizes to ensure the best fit and to return the other products. Not only did purchasing multiple sizes get me free shipping, but Patagonia takes online returns at the store! After receiving my order and determining the correct size I went to the Ventura location to return the other products. With no hassle or hesitation the employee at the cash register quickly processed my return. In fact the return was so easy and un-awkward I left the store in shock and amazement wondering what just happened. First off -- we LOVE the brand and consistently spend good $$$ here. The woman in the front, her name begins with J & she has blue/green eyes was so welcoming and so sweet. She completely made our shopping experience. HOWEVER -- the visual merchandising manager was so unbelievably rude. The day of my last visit to Patagonia, nothing was going my way. After a series of frustrating and inconvenient events that morning, I was browsing the store when an employee discreetly said, "Excuse me...your pants are ripped." What she kindly didn't say was, "I can see your entire butt." The seat of my jeans was split from top to bottom. No idea how I didn't notice that--I blame a crying baby and a 3 year old. After recovering from the initial shock of basically being naked in public, I wrapped a scarf around my exposed bottom and asked the employee, Christina, where I could find some pants. She was incredibly sweet, helped me find some cord I really liked, found my size, and held my baby while I tried them on. Clad in my new cords, I came out of the dressing room and she took my ripped jeans (not from Patagonia) and offered to patch them for me. Fifteen minutes later, Colby had finished them and they were back in one piece. Christina rang up my new pants and gave me a 25% discount. I left the store after an experience that was simultaneous the low and high point of my day. Patagonia is an impressive brand. They use sustainable practices to reduce their impact on the environment. They make high-quality products that last a lifetime (unlike my jeans). They treat people well--the people who make their clothes, their employees, and the people who buy their clothes. Yes, their clothes are expensive, but you get what you pay for.
