I headed to REI Co-op, a store that I frequently shopped in Baltimore. It's located in Indigo Square near the Town Centre in Mount Pleasant. There's plenty of parking ... the interior is well lit ... and the sales floor is well stocked. I knew what I wanted after browsing their website. My goal was to establish the size and place the order as I wanted a particular Columbia hooded down jacket in a trendy tobacco color. I was approached quickly, tried on a few Columbia jackets and within minutes, the friendly and very helpful sales associate placed the order. In three days, my jacket arrived. It is perfect and arrived just in time for the 32 degree temperature forecasted for tomorrow. REI should be your 'go to' for everything you need for your outdoor activities ... fishing, skiing, hunting, hiking, etc., ... accessories, too. Selections are available at all price points, whether you 're looking for value (chose REI branded merch) or 'bells and whistles.'

Some of the items were a bit pricy, or maybe they are comparable to other athletic wear stores now that I think about it. I tried on a pair of the compression style athletic pants/work out pants and the material was very thin, I felt like every square inch of my body was on display, they were comfortable but the material was not what I was looking for, a female sales agent advised me that this particular fabric was new, and she guided me over to the fabric that was a bit thicker, more modest and ultimately more flattering. It was a few dollars more expensive but well worth it. The store was very neatly organized and though I had to seek out assistance, when looking for a dressing room, and when looking for another style of pants, the staff was professional and met my needs. I would return because I really liked some of the styles, colors and fabrics.

They missed part of the issue (popped tire) causing delays in getting the right items to fix the issue. The Ugly: big storm came and further delayed the parts they ordered. Their bike techs only worked part-time. They did not communicate status with me. The Good: after a month, they did fix it nice. They actually did a better job than I expected, going above and beyond to make it right. They did not charge me for the parts or the repair. They earned themselves a customer, and I ended-up buying a pair of shoes from them. Overall, I give them 4 stars for fixing my bike and making the situation right. But they lose a star for lack of communication.

They had a nice selection of shoes, both business casual and sporty styles. I like supporting brick and mortar stores, but I may find myself visiting H&M online more because there is a larger selection.
