The team is always responsive to our requests and needs and always, always puts well well being of kids first. Teachers are valued, respected, and a collaborative part of the leadership team. And, it shows. They're comfortable bring up ideas or concerns, and are greeted with responsiveness. This is the cleanest childcare facility I've ever seen in my life. This is also the only place that I trust my child to go during the pandemic. they already cleaned and sanitized more than any place I've ever seen. Now that's even amplified. Not only does the whole staff love my little boy, and he loves them... Not only have they helped him grow socially and emotionally... Not only does he love going to school everyday... Not only is it's a collaborative team where teachers are actually valued, respected, and listened to... But. I will never forget the night my mother-in-law passed suddenly. Because of the team's responsiveness, I never worried about if I would be able to get ahold of him during a constantly changing situation. It's not only that. I actually felt comfort knowing that I could reach out to them at any point, get a response, and that response would be to fully support my child and my family in any way possible. I really appreciated that at the end of the course, they set up all of the certification dives for you, so that you can immediately get certified at the end of the course. Sometimes dive courses don't do that, and it leaves you having to figure out where you're going to dive to become officially certified. Thunder Reef lined up multiple options for dates to complete the dives, as well as affordable hotel options. All of the staff really go the extra mile, and I could not recommend Jen and the whole team enough. :) I left the course feeling confident and excited to explore the world of diving!

She has slightly more homework than her last school, and it requires a parent to be involved in the home learning process. They use classical education versus CORE or Beka, which is far more advanced, demanding, and structured. Grades are broken down into Pre-Grammar, Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. My daughter is in the pre-grammar stage. Then in 3rd grade she will enter Grammar. 5th, she will enter Logic, and I believe Rhetoric begins in 9th. Grades are broken down into stages. It seems difficult at first, but when you understand how it works, you will marvel. They begin Latin in 3rd and end in 8th I believe. Then they will touch on Greek in high school. They study the classics and will have strong presentation and debate skills by the time they depart for college. This is a K-12 school. Teachers sometimes act unprofessionally by showing favoritism, enforcing rules inconsistently, or treating students disrespectfully. The dean and principal, especially Mr. Antony, seem more focused on strict and unnecessary policies--like the harsh phone rules--rather than actually improving the school environment. Their lack of leadership and failure to take student safety and well-being seriously make it clear that Mountain View is not being run the way a school should be.

Even with the multiple times we have moved away only to return, my son has always attended Evergreen district... I think we always figured he would end up here. He has wonderful friends and the teachers are excellent! Sure, no school is perfect but this school has some amazing teachers who inspire the students to open their minds. My son changed his career goals because of one of those teachers and now he is in Running start in full pursuit of his goals.
