It had multiple engine issues I spent over $18,000 fixing it up just to sell the engine was blown and it smelled like cigarettes and it had a hail damage,. If you live out of state, DO NOT BUY anything from this dealership. I bought a Ford Gold Certified F350. It was delivered to me on Friday with a check engine light on, tear in driver side leather seat, gouge in the driver side door and a dent in the back bumper. I called Columbine Ford and spoke with Bryce about my Gold Certified F350. He minimized each issue, claimed he/Columbine Ford didn't see the tear in the seat, massive scratch on the door, dent in the bumper etc. I was told to go to a local Ford dealership for the check engine light, find an upholstery company to repair the tear in the leather seat. And, as for the scratches/dents they neglected to mention prior to the purchase of the truck, I was told tough luck... I haven't put a tank of gas in the truck and I'm currently sitting in a local Ford dealership repair center.... See attached pictures. The last picture I posted is of me sitting in the service waiting room, this could be you! UPDATE - there is a wiring harness and sensor that was completely missing from the truck. My local Ford dealership is in awe that this truck made it through Columbine Fords 172 point Gold Certified inspection. It never should have... I've now been at the Ford dealership now for 5 hrs. After waiting for more than six weeks for an appointment and asked to bring the car in at 8AM I waited all day only to be told I would have to come back tomorrow before a technician could look at it. My next visit the same scenario: six weeks for an appointment and come in at 8AM: then after waiting an hour being told they did not know when a technician would be available. I had to take the car home without them even looking at it. This has to the worse place to get service. My feeling is if you don't have a major problem with a big bill they just ignore you. I will not buy another Ford from Columbine Ford and recommend you research other dealers before you buy a Ford. read more

I brought my truck to Columbine Ford to have my front end fixed, shocks installed, and a new transmission. After having them replace my shocks, the drivers side rear shock fell off while I was driving, I have had 4 transmission leaks that took 3 appointments to find, and my front end still needs work that they missed. My 4wheel drive jammed up because of this and broke my I-joint and they charged me to fix it. When I brought these issues up to the service manager, he became extremely defensive. He had put me on speakerphone so the office could listen in on the conversation and proceeded to say things like "I wouldn't send a truck out that I knew had an issue"....except for the shock that didn't have nuts on the bolts or the transmission leaks that I've had, or the 4wheel drive system that they didn't fix properly... As a business owner myself, I would never have responded to a customer relations issue the way Paul did so I contacted his boss. The GM, Justin, who met with me today and agreed to disagree on my issues. He didn't even give me the decency of providing a private place to voice my concerns. He snickered at me, spoke down to me, and even though his mechanic sent me a video of work they claimed they hadn't done, and we all watched it together, he still denied my complaint. He said they will fix the front seal of my transmission where it's leaking and bring my truck back to me so I don't have to drive the 4 hours back and forth again. He then reluctantly refunded me $600 and said he'd never refund anything for me again because he's not an open checkbook. Excuse me Sir, but I believe that I was the open checkbook when I dropped $10,000 on your shop since April and EVERY SINGLE THING that they did was installed incorrectly. I will never come back here, and I highly advise you, and anyone else that asks for my opinion, to shop somewhere else. Update: 12/07/20 The dealer sent a driver in my 9000 lbs truck to deliver it to me, 2 hours away, in a snow storm, and she crashed it. My work vehicle and livelihood has significant damage to it. The negligence and incompetence of the management is genuinely appalling and my business has suffered tremendously because of it. I did not deserve any of this. And for the record, as of today, I have yet to see this "refund" Justin so reluctantly agreed too. read more

Everything was going OK, I had a funeral to attend and had sent in my paperwork, which they didn't get. So i sent it in again. Still nothing. So about 5 days ago, my girlfriend and I went to purchase a used Lexus from this dealership. Normally I would offer at least the name, but they don't deserve even an honorable mention based on our experience. I had to take time off from building my house and drive about 65 miles to the town of Riffle, CO. Everything started off well enough; the people seemed kind enough on the phone; I spoke with the sales rep and he communicated with me efficiently-- this is where things went really sour. We arrive at the dealership to view the vehicle, a Lexus RX 350; it showed pretty well for a 2009 vehicle. As Brice, our sales rep went to get the key, we prepared for a test drive. We were a bit disappointed about Brice's limited knowledge, but didn't want to be too critical-- Brice was really nice. So we begin our test drive and my first observation after driving about 1/2 a mile is that the rear suspension is in dangerously bad condition (unsafe). Even the Sales manager or possibly owner said to us upon our return "you should have ran that car into a ditch and owned us." that is an exact quote-- it was that bad. I was willing to deal with that since when we returned he said he would put it up on a life and get back to us the next day. True to his word, he tried to call us back the next day, but being in the mountain I was unable to get reception. That is not what makes this dealership one of the WORST I have ever been to. We clearly state we are interested in the vehicle and he promised to address all the concerns. The day after I call him back and we finally speak, he says that the car is getting the air sensor replaced and that the struts have already been replaced. I am thinking great. The next day they do not get back to me though he promised he would... so I call two more times. Then I figure it is Veteran's day so I might not hear from him until tomorrow. The next morning, I get a message saying "the car has been sold" WHAT! unbelievable. Not only did they not communicate with us, but they also sold the vehicle from under us without so much as a phone call. More over, we had already invested a bunch of time, and energy in planning for the purchase of this vehicle. The excuse they gave was that someone else didn't know about the prior (our) commitment. It will be my mission to ensure they get a (Better Business Bureau) BBB faulty mark for being so unethical; I plan on writing to the attorney general for the State of Colorado, regarding their approach to doing business, scaring the car dealer industry (further stereotyping car sales people) and ensuring that anyone who might be considering a purchase here at least think twice. If you cannot be honest with people rest assured the word will spread around. It is unfortunate that anyone especially someone just moving to Western Colorado (an amazingly beautiful place) would have to have this as one of their first experiences. I hope a television broadcaster picks up on this, I would be more than happy to expand on my feelings about Columbine Ford... Never have I experienced such disregard as a consumer for a product. By the way we were cash in hand ready to buy. Sad but true. Ford Motor Company will hear about this experience. If I can trust your dealer, why would I buy a Ford from any of your representatives. I would not be surprised discover that more people are buying from private parties rather than dealers. It shouldn't matter what car I am buying, what should matter is the badge of honor you wear under Ford Motor Company. read more

I just want to say Aaron Cook and Service Manager Paul are two of the best people I've ever met!!! My vehicle broke down driving through Rifle Colorado with my entire family in the vehicle, so I had AAA tow my vehicle to Columbine Ford. It was about 100 degrees that day and by the time AAA had picked us up we were definitely hot and thirsty. Aaron was the first person we came into contact with, he noticed my 70 year old mother and 7 year old niece were overheated and went to the vending machine and reached in his wallet and paid for 4 Dasani waters for me and my family...well it doesn't stop there. It was Friday evening about 5:30pm and we were trying to get to Las Vegas/ Home. We needed to get to Grand Junction to rent a car and there was no transportation available to us at all, we were out of ideas. After speaking with Aaron about this issue he said give me a minute. Two minutes later the service manager Paul comes to me and asks if we need a ride, I said we do but its all the way to grand junction he said no problem get your stuff and put in my truck I'm going to drive you there...Paul was willing to give 4 complete strangers a ride to grand junction on a Friday evening which is an hour away from his home. So it's a 2hr drive for Paul. Once we got to the airport I tried to offer Paul money to at least pay for the gas or his troubles, he absolutely refused...The absolute selfless acts from these two gentlemen are beyond words. June 24, 2018, our F-250 diesel truck lost power on the way to Palisade, CO, from Denver, so we had it towed to Columbine Ford in Rifle,CO. The service Dept. created a "video" of our "truck health" and the technician told us we needed INJECTORS. We paid $3,983.31 for injectors that they DID NOT install in our truck after telling us what we needed.We picked it up in good faith, the technician said "we were good to go" and we drove it home to Lakewood, CO. The truck sat at home for a week. then we left home to go to Northrop,CO,to camp, and the truck lost power AGAIN! The same thing happened! We called Columbine Ford to ask for some help and to remind them we had just paid them for new injectors. We were told,"NOT MY TRUCK, NOT MY PROBLEM!" by their service personnel. So we towed it to the ford dealership in Salida,CO, and requested the "video" Columbine Ford had recently created about our truck be sent to Salida. .The Salida tech told us to wait a few minutes in the lobby while they watched the video. Meanwhile, the service manager from Columbine Ford then told me on the phone "if they would have done their job to begin with, we wouldn't be in this mess." No kidding! Within a few minutes, the service rep in Salida came in shaking his head, after watching the video, and told us we DID NOT HAVE NEW INJECTORS, and that #5 was really, really, really bad and should have been replaced!! He said we had received "new injector cups!" Apparently really expensive ones! So...after ANOTHER almost $4000 paid to the Salida dealership, we now have the new injectors we paid for in the first place!! I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND doing business with Columbine Ford! read more

I purchased the car in march after paying 4 or 5 weeks rental while my truck was being fixed and not k owing how much longer it would take. I told the salesman and Tina the finance person why I was buyingbit. I went initially to buy a Camry. It had body damage that was not on the advertised photo and I was uncertain of how it was running. Within a week, It began to shutter and occasionally loose power when shifting. I texted with no response. I began to Google the symptom as it was so odd I was uncertain what was happening. I learned then there was a recall on the transmission. After I tried a few dealerships near me, to fix it but could not get a call back, I texted my salesman if I could return it as I was told I could bring it back in 30 days if not happy with it. So, on April 7, I drove it back to Rifle. Paid 200.00 for a taxi to grand junction to get a rental, as can't take a loaner out of town. I called Gennesy to see if I could pay to have the car returned. She said she would ask. Never called back. So, I called to follow up. She asked again. Then called back and agreed to deliver to Denver for 250.00. However, 40 inches of snow was predicted that April 16 weekend, so I said let's hold off. The next week I took a rental car back over. Got a ride to the shop, where not only did they not do the repair Aaron had informed me was available "oh yes there is a recall on that. We can get it fixed", but no one on location even knew my car was there and they could not find my key or my paperwork. 45 minute later, I picked my dog up from board, took a right onto Patterson and it shuttered and lost power causing me to get tailgate and honked at. I immediately called the service supervisor John and was transferred by front desk to Used sales manager Steve, who did not pick up and I left a VM. When I got home after staying at Gunnison due to weather over Monarch pass, I emailed Jimmy Bresnan, who forwarded my email. After a month of no reply despite my review on Facebook or dealerrater.com, I emailed the other Gm, and today I received an email full of lies from Pete, who turns out to be the. Service manager. It is full of spin and lies. Of course now trying to claim the reason my warranty was extended was over the transmission. The same transmission his department found did not need to be repaired, and a claim. Unsubstantiated in the sales contract. He says too bad so sad for the 700 in hotels rent a cars and taxis, claiming he "offered" to transport it. Shameful, blatant lies! read more

Ended up working hard at calling other dealer around the state and found almost the same truck that I wanted in Denver. Pretty simple, you need a dealer to follow through on their word. I was made a 'no questions offer' over the phone only to take a days trip in gas and spend several hours waiting while the dealer decides to go back on their word and 'not remember the conversation'. Classic bait and switch... Would never use these guys or Brad Wilkins specifically and suggest you do the same. Save yourself the hassle, there are many other dealers that do what they say. Edit 12/09. In regard to the comments by the dealer... A bait and switch is considered anything you offer (such as baiting the customer while they are at another dealer) and switching their offer once there in person. As for the trade mentioned, the dealer is referring to a rear door handle that could not be opened (which I promptly showed them how to do and was working fine) an airbag light that had popped on (of which I included the replacement part) and a check engine light from a brand new $600 service completed on the exhaust - again, all documentation provided. All of this was explained in fine detail over a one hour phone call with two individuals from the dealership; hence the reason I explained a 'no questions offer' in the original statement. This information was all conveniently forgot upon arrival, and nothing was 'written down' or could be recalled. On top of all of this... After waiting for an hour In the lobby while they chastise me for not having a second set of keys (really??), the dealer states they now need to put the car through a full inspection, which would have taken an additional two hours. I am saying it again, save yourself the hassle. Bottom line, I drive straight to a dealer with a 5-star Yelp rating the next day. I bought a $47,000 vehicle, they took my used vehicle (which was such a hazard to this dealer) and gave me $3,500 more for my trade. And guess what? It was all signed and done in less than 35 minutes. Trust the reviews here.. There is a reason for the complaints, and if I could, I would give this dealer a negative 5 for the ridiculous excuses to try and blame the customer a second time... We travelled a long way to buy a King Ranch from Columbine Ford. They did not tell us about a recall on the vehicle and obviously did not attempt to fix it. So we spent hours trying to program the technology on the truck only to later find out that the system has been recalled and needs to be fixed. They couldn't seem to find a spare key and we had to arrange to get one made at our local dealership. Columbine paid for it but they should have taken care of it in the first place. They gave us a brochure for 6 months of Sirius radio but then kept backpeddling on the promise to get the Sirius radio that they promised at the sale. They implied that we made up the brochure or something. The service manager was obviously irritated that we were interrupting his day. When we tried to contact them to reply to their numerous broken promises, their email all of a sudden bounced our email. Some customer service for buying a $40K vehicle. read more

Over the years we have been to many dealerships. Now as we get older and are on Social Security we are limited in our finances. After a truly awful accident with a vehicle that should have outlasted us, we had nothing. Of course we held a fear of grabbing something when perhaps there might be a better deal out there but our first stop was Columbine Ford in Rifle, Colorado. We were met by a young man named Bryce Benson. We told Bryce exactly what we wanted, how much we could spend and various other financial details wants and needs. Along with Manager Steve Baskett and Receptionist Sandra Aceves, we were made to feel right at home with little to no pressure on us. Bryce went above and beyond to accomodate us and Brandun Weeden spent plenty of time helping us "get to know" the vehicles we were interested in. KUDOS to this staff....we did purchase a vehicle, are very happy with it and WILL recommend Columbine Ford as well as Bryce Benson and Brandun Weeden to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle new or used.
