Had a problem with the liftgate on my Outback. The service desk got me in right away & solved the problem.

Well, that was a horrible experience I wanted to get out of as soon as possible. I'm based in Denver area and my car broke down on the way to steamboat. I thought I'd check out the dealer here to see if they had a car for me to buy. I've been following prices on Subaru Outback's for at least 3 months and know what the prices are in Denver, visiting 2 dealers there because I knew my car was on its last mile. For a 2020-2022 Outback with 20-40k miles, you'll pay $28-30k. Go check CARFAX and you'll see. We asked what inventory he had and he said our price was impossible for an Outback -- that he had just sold a 2018 with over 100k miles for $25k. That poor soul who bought from this dealer... Check your prices before you go. That's all I'll say. He was pushing me towards an impreza, not even close to what I wanted. He just pushed us out "nicely" since he was 15 min out from close time. Wouldn't let us see a new Forester (considering getting a Forester as well) since he knew he wouldn't sell it to us since we're not looking to spend $37k. Hated it. Glad I don't live here and this is my only option. Go buy in Denver, folks. Some feedback for the sales guy: Don't assume your customer isn't informed and spew out all this information without letting them speak for a minute. Listen more, talk less. read more

FANTASTIC JOB! I'm on my 4th Tahoe, this year I called Stacy Rodgers and told him the Color, (Interior & Exterior), Premiere Edition, Fully Loaded....lots of other extras....and within one day he found my PERFECT Tahoe! In Wyoming! No muss, No Fuss....easiest car sale I have had in Steamboat EVER! Car arrived over the weekend and picked it up Monday! Alex Wolf did all the paperwork in a short time also ... easy Peasy!! I appreciate the time & effort Stacy & Steve took to locate my New Tahoe. I have low expectations when approaching a used car lot, but today was by far the worst experience. First, Ian/Wolf tells us that he only has one model of the car we are looking for, there are only 20 minutes until close (mid day Saturday), and we should check their website frequently - indicating his disinterest in helping us. He proceeds to tell us how impractical any car we are looking for without a local dealership because it often takes 3 weeks to get a simple oil change and only Subaru owners are fast tracked to the front of the line. After taking our drivers licenses to test drive the car we are looking at, he tries to talk us out of test driving any cars making it clear he had no interest in showing us a vehicle. We finally take the vehicle for a 3 minute test drive wherein he continues to tell us why our choice is so terrible for Steamboat. Prior to this visit, we were open to several makes and models of SUVs fitting our criteria - 3rd row (seats 8) and reliable AWD in the snow. However, he left such a poor impression, it would be difficult to consider a Subaru in spite of what a great value and reliable they are. read more

Sold me OEM seatbelts for thousands of dollars then refused to install them. Had the audacity to try and sell me on a rental car after assuming I had a car payment. Bad people. We purchased a vehicle from this dealer from out of state for a friend who really needed a vehicle. The Dealership knowingly sold us a vehicle that they knew had major problems and hid this by saying that they couldn't do a mechanical check bc of the price of the car. They Recommended we get a mechanic do a check on the vehicle and recommended a local mechanic shop as we are out of state and do not know the area. The sales guy drove the vehicle to the Mechanic shop . The shop does the check and gives us a list of minor repairs needed and one major repair, But said it drives good. The sales guy also drove the vehicle back to the dealership. We negotiated the price with those repairs in mind , and the day after we purchased the vehicle the clutch goes out. This was NOT mentioned by the mechanic shop as an issue . Things do happen with vehicles,however It didn't make sense that the mechanic shop didn't mention the clutch to us as it is impossible to not know the clutch was bad , any mechanic would know immediately if a clutch was going out. Knowing that we could not trust the mechanic now , and that somehow a mechanic and salesman drove it right before we purchased it, and didn't mention it at all, I Called to speak with the sales manager and explained the situation. I was met with the most unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. He was rude and didn't even listen to what i had to say . In a very condescending and intimidating manner he said that the conversation would be over if i kept saying what happened. He got very upset instantly when I simply asked what the dealership could do . He could have just honestly and respectfully said that there are not many options or that he will see what they can do , but instead he decided to act out aggressively towards me in an intimidating way so I would go away.Please be aware of this dealership!! They will not be honest with you . read more

The wife and I just bought a 2011 Subaru Forester from these guys and it was an enjoyable experience. Car shopping is always fun, purchasing one almost never is. They guys at Cook made it pleasant and easy. When the car we wanted wasn't on the lot, they ordered one for us and it only took 2 days. They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and got exactly what we wanted. That's why we buy local when we can, the salespeople listened to us and made the process as painless as possible. I didn't purchase my 2015 Crosstrek from this dealership but it is the only Subaru place in town. Last Friday my car wouldn't start. With the help of Subaru road side assistance and the most amazing service department manager I've ever dealt with (Darrell Horton) I got my car towed at no cost and returned with all problems fixed by Monday! Luckily it was a simple part and it didn't need to be ordered. They not only fixed the problem at no cost but replaced a few wear and tear things on my vehicle, finishing all that off with washing my car!!! I had a minor mechanical issue with my outback while on a road trip. Their parts department got the parts in fast, worked with me on the price and let me use their space to replace them. I wasn't car shopping but dropped in due to an emergency issue with my Subaru Impreza. It was on the weekend so their shop was closed, but the salesperson I dealt with was very knowledgeable and taught me things about my car that the people at my own dealership had not shown me. (Subaru owners: There are a set of eyebolts kept with the spare wheel that should always be used for towing your vehicle! These screw directly into the car frame through an access panel on the bumper.) The salesperson showed genuine care and concern about my well-being and my vehicle. These are great people and if I was buying a Subaru in the area I would definitely shop here! read more

What a sad experience. I had such an amazing experience until we had the sad fate of dealing with a firey Elizabeth F. I think she is a service manager. Not sure why she even chose to show her presence to us, but you would have thought that we were there to take her job. From the initial, common, hello I gave, she was nothing but rude. It is employees like her that they make brick walls for. If you must hire her, keep her far far away from customers. I will not come back until I get a personal email from the owner that she is no longer there. The staff, car dealers, finance manager, etc...everyone else was amazing. I just don't deserve the rude attitude she gave us. We drove all the way from Denver to buy our 3rd car from Cook Subaru. Never a bad experience until then. I have wrote the company on their website with no reply. So either Elizabeth gets those emails (and deletes them) or they just don't care. Either way an absolute great experience was ruined because of her. We still bought the car, and love it, but will have to start buying locally now. It just isn't worth the hours long drive to ruin what used to be a fun trip. read more

I bought my used Subaru from Cook two years ago. Overall, I am happy with car but it was quite a frustrating experience buying it from them. When I went to test drive the car, they brought the car to me already turned on. It drove really nice, and after some thought I decided to purchase it. After I signed the documents, I went out to the car and went to unlock it by putting the key in car door. The salesman, Staci, informed me that the I would only be able to enter the car using the keyless entry and there wasn't an actual key to unlock the car. Thanks for telling me now!! I guess its my fault for not checking to make sure the doors open with a key. But it wasn't something that crossed my mind. I asked him how I was supposed to unlock the car if the battery died or the keyless entry got wet. He told me that I should take the car to denver ( I lived in steamboat) and find an inexpensive locksmith to replace the lock. I felt that the whole process was misleading and dishonest. If you plan on buying a car from Cook, make sure every little part of the car works before you buy it. They will be of little help afterwards. Ohh and don't buy the extended warranty they will try to sell you. It doesn't cover anything. read more
