Do not ever, ever, ever rent from them. Don't ever even view any of their properties. They are liars, and con-artists. If they call something a "security deposit" they actually mean "holding fee." You will never get that money back. We gave them a "security deposit" before moving in, but then never signed a lease because they had a bunch of ridiculous add-ons in addition to the rent price. They never gave us our money back, and have never even called me back after I have left them 7+ messages or met with me when I have driven up to their office to talk with them. Before you give them your money, everything will SEEM great. It's not, it's all a lie. First of all, $79 is only the minimum and there are extras that will cost a lot more. Worst real estate company I have ever worked with. Completely unreliable and the communication is terrible. Plan on not getting a response for up to five days later every time you reach out to them. The agent at the particular property I was looking at was on a conference call the entire time she showed the house and lacked any sort of knowledge on the property. They don't even deserve a 1star --Worst Company Ever! I rented my house for the past year and there is zero communication- they don't return phone calls and if they return an email they might answer 10% of the body of the email. They are NEVER in their office and they only give you their office number- ironic right. They, without contacting me the owner, allowed my tenants to go month to month and checkout in the slowest time of year.... in addition to that, they couldn't fine a renter without dropping my rent price 400 dollars (insane) so I said no way and have been trying to close my account. My last rental income credit was 250 less than normal and I've been trying to get it resolved for the past month (with zero response). I have also been trying to close my account and still no response on how to get my money back and they keep bailing on showing up to return my keys. I am about to call the cops and have put a claim in with the better business bureau. These guys should not be handling anyone's property- they are wreck-less and do not value your assets. Is there anyway we can give -10 stars? This is a fraud company. We had contract for no pets & they allowed pets at our house without any notice. When our neighbors told us, your tenants has pets, we asked them. They didn't say anything. As pets were in the house, now we are not able to rent the house. This is probably one of the WORST companies I have ever worked with. The company is impossible to work with unless they are taking your money. When we first signed our lease they had no problem contacting us. When we were trying to break our lease we could not get a return phone call. When my husband tried taking the issue to a manager with the company the manager informed us that he did not want to take our phone call. They will not break our lease even though the owner of the property is selling the property. They say we still owe 6 months of rent. The staff is probably the rudest staff that I have ever dealt with. I had to call and fake my name to find out that the owner was even selling the property because they weren't up front with us about anything. Wish I could give 0 stars. Super suspicious that all of their 1 star reviews on google disappeared in the last few weeks. I personally left a detailed review months ago when I lived with them detailing how terrible they are, and now it's gone. I also had multiple people contact me about similar experiences they had and they had also written reviews, and now they're gone too. Here's just a short list of some of the main problems I had with them: Disgusting condition when I moved in (including rat traps in my room that they mentioned nothing about), we had to make a 2 page list of things that needed to be fixed and contact them weekly for MONTHS until they fixed it, our garbage disposal was broken when we moved in and they charged us $300 to fix it after telling us they would not charge us, they then cussed out me and then my mom on the phone after we politely called to ask about the random $300 fee on our portal, and to top it off--when we moved out, we cleaned the apartment to a 100x better condition than it was when we moved in and they still took over half of our security deposit. When we asked why they took any of it they basically said there was water damage under the sink, which we literally had pictures of that exact water damage that was there when we moved in that they of course never fixed. Current owner with R.E. Pros "managing" the property. In the last year the tenant had to establish direct communication with me to inform me of all the maintenance issues with the home. REPros is charging me above contractor rate for partial and half arse repairs if they are done at all. I have found double billed repairs which REPro insists was the same repair across two dates so they billed me two different months. Anyways I am trying to break free from them since my contract is expiring and they refuse to answer emails or phone calls. Let me start off saying that one star I gave "Columbus Real Estate Pros" is 5*'s to many. I wish to god I would have yelped them before I started dealing with them. I found a place in New Albany that was privately owned and managed by this awful company. I filled out the applications on line. The next day I revived a call from "Blake". I told him I knew the floor plan so no walk through was needed. He informed me I was first on the list for this condo. And he would call me back in a few hours. I asked him for his email, he said he would give it to me when he called. That call never came. "Blake" and I didn't speak again for 9 days. I left him voicemails ever day sometimes twice daily. One time I actual spoke to someone in the office other than a recording. They informed me that only "Blake" can give out his email. On the 9th day when we spoke I was informed of how busy he is and that he had someone else that was interested in the condo. "Blake" didn't like me asking about his customer service so he decided to hang up on me. In the mean time I found a new place. "Blake" went with the other people and I still got charged $150.00 for terrible customer service...well actual no service. read more

This Company is a joke. My boyfriend chose this company to rent out my house back in February, they have a 30 day guarantee to get it rented, it was not rented until May. They have charged him since February fee's when they did not even have a renter. Now there is a renter and he has have yet to receive any money. His statement shows he had to pay almost $500 for then to fix a garbage disposal leak, and his account is being charged for other fees as well, I have yet to receive any profit from my house being rented by them.They are under several different names not just Columbus Real Estate Pros and apparently have many complaints with the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. read more

I have had a similar experience as the previous two reviews. We are moving to Columbus and wanted to get some information about a house for rent that was posted on their website. I called the office over and over all day long and the only person there was the receptionist. She didn't have any information about the house, whether it was rented yet or not, when we could set up a viewing- nothing. She said the agents handle all that and none were in the office. She would not give me their cell phone numbers to call, and she would not call them for me. All I wanted was to ask a few simple questions. I finally decided just to go ahead and apply online for this one house, since it looked pretty perfect for us. That evening around 6:30 pm I got a call from an agent (communication with an actual agent is about as rare as seeing a unicorn) and she told me they already had tenants for that house. Therefore all that time I spent filling out the rental application was pointless. She told me she would email me a list of other homes they had which were similar, but she never did. This week I've called, emailed, texted the agent many times about another house, and have gotten no response at all. read more

SCAM!!! Read all reviews before speaking with these people. They are consistent. This "company" is a complete scam. They began managing my rental property and I had to fire them in less than half a year because they had trouble getting tenants into the place smoothly, they lied and cheated tenants out of "late payments", they were constantly unavailable and non-responsive to tenants and me, and they billed me enormous amounts of money for repairs that they failed to prove with repeated requests for documentation. If you are a renter or an owner and you do business with these people you will lose. They even commingled my tenants deposit with operating funds so they could hold the deposit hostage until I paid for unproven repairs -- which is totally illegal. I've filed a FBI fraudulent business complaint and can't believe these people are still in business. But then again, I have no confidence the feds can protect us against slime balls like this. If I could give zero stars I would. I have had them manage my condo for 2 years now. It started out ok....first year went pretty well. Tenant didn't switch over water bill to his name and it took about 3 months of back and forth to get it fixed but overall not bad. Tenant moved out, was told they did a walk through and everything was ready...my wife and I went over just to clean, found the staircase from first to second floor had broken, older house, it happens. I called and emailed them to let them know that it was broken and asked them to arrange for contractors to come out and give estimates. After 3 weeks they did nothing...I ended up calling contractors and going out to meet them for estimates (why did I hire a manager if I'm managing it myself?). Then, I walk in one day with a contractor and there is someone moved into my home, the one with a broken staircase...furious I called and emailed, with no response (no one actually answers phones there, ever and the voice mail boxes are usually full). Finally got ahold of manager, expressed my horror, was told I would get a letter from them assuming all liability were the new tenant to get injured on the stairs, never got it. Now my rent payment is late, by 3 weeks....tenant paid it, I haven't gotten paid....this place is a scam. Run far away, don't give them a dollar. read more

As a prospective tenant STAY AWAY! They are extremely unprofessional and liars. I am a very successful profession that was moving to the area. I looked at one of their units and expressed my interest. I explained I was under a very time sensitive situation and will be making a decision shortly. I emailed them on a Thursday evening and said I would take the unit and asked what I needed to do. I did not hear anything. I emailed again on Friday. I finally received a response stating they were in contact with the owner and would get back to me. We discussed a move in date and everything seemed good. Then I received an email stating someone just came to see it and they will be applying and if I wanted the unit I need to apply ASAP. I was under the impression that I had already begun the process. I asked for an application via telephone and 3 emails. Several hours later I received the link. As I was filling out the application, I received an email saying someone else filled out an application and was approved. They then tried to get me to rent a more expensive unit. I have been renting a property from RealEstatePros for 5 months. By far they are the worst management company that I have worked with. They didn't have the property cleaned before I moved in (they did give a credit but it wasn't enough to cover it). Once I became a tenant they became non-responsive to emails. They didn't transfer the water bill in my name. Got a shutoff notice. I paid the bill even though it went back 2 months before I moved in. I've been waiting 3 months for the credit they owe me. Started strong, but can't get a simple call back ever. I agree with nearly all comments per our experience. They are "managing" a property for us. Our tenant called with a few issues that needed to be take care of. The contractor made a few very subjective decisions on the scope of work and we were stuck paying the bill. Actually just received reduced proceeds that month with no statement of what was done until I called. I am frustrated. I have no meaningful recourse against the work that was done. I was told by the maintenance manager there were no photos of what was done and that the contractor had already quit. Again, was looking forward to a good experience, but have been getting progressively more and more frustrated with the original issue that cost me money, but further the fact no one could provide details for 44 days and I only received ONE returned phone call during that time period. read more

STAY AWAY! They only get the one star for the youtube video advertising my property. They do a poor job at screening tenants (as evidence by 3-5 eviction notices I was billed for), responding to me (weeks would go by and no response) and the tenant. It was not until I heard from the couple next to my property that I learned that a previous tenant made requests for repairs to the company and they were ignored. I gather that they told the tenant that I was unwilling to pay, but I was never made aware. They say that they can rent a property in 30 days ( I always thought that was a stretch), but I called them on it when it clearly past the 30 days. Then I got some song and dance about the many factors that influence rental market. They should not make claims that they can hold up. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I am a renter and have been renting for years and never had a problem with any landlord or agency prior to my dealings with columbus real estate pros. 1. Property issues were not responded to timely. This resulted in me receiving a $400 water bill which I had to pay for. 2. They gave us a property that was infested with bugs. When we moved in, we told them and they responded that it was our responsibility to deal with bugs (even though we just moved in). There were piles of bug fogger left in the cupboards from the previous tenets so we know it was an issue from earlier. 3. They are EXTREMELY rude and unresponsive. 4. If I was the property owner, I would have been horrified by the way they took care of the property and responded to issues. 5. Move out process was a nightmare and they didn't return our full deposit stating that we left items in the house (but they were there when we moved in). We actually intentionally left them there as it'd be stealing if we took them! I've never been treated so horribly for trying to be responsible. 6. The handymen they sent out were always polite and professional. The office staff and organization in general is extremely incompetent. They are a nightmare to deal with and you will never get a response to anything if it's there fault. They are very quick to respond if they need something from you. This company has not changed since 2010 when I tried to use them. They talk very professional and have a nice website but when it comes down to it they don't deliver. My place went unrented a whole year. They decreased the rent each month until it was less than half of what I had been getting myself for the previous six years. They finally found tenants 7 months into the agreement but I refused to agree to the price as it was a steal and well below market value. My wife and I entered in a year agreement with Real Estate Pro's on 1/9/14. The up front effort and engagement with us had no concerns. However once we were a few months we realized their actual situation. During a late payment from our tenants during our October to November 2015 cycle our bill showed no payout amount to us. And the payout received by us was even lower than the fees assessed. While they did try to add some back in the next month a $96 gutter cleaning appeared when I requested to them that they call me with all maintenance concerns as I wanted to fix all I could and there was no call from our tenants to request this service which I already complete twice per year. And most times we would call in and leave a message with no response. We missed our chance to stop our contract at a year so we decided it was in our best interest to pay the roughly $618 termination fee to end this. We hand delivered a 30 day notice on 2/29/16 and requested if there was anything else needed. On 3/28/16 I again stopped in due to no response from phone calls to verify that everything was on schedule to terminate in 2 days. I was at that point notified that both renter and tenant had to complete an electronic termination agreement. This email was not received until April 14th which was 15 days past our termination date. At that point we were still requesting our tenants $1100 in security deposit and our $500 in operating expense back from them. We received only $1442 back. We followed up with calls (again with no response) and emails on 5/8 and 5/19 requesting why we were shorted $58. When I notified them of my cancelling I received a call in 5 minutes from a manager. However when I had concerns no one would even answer the phone. Save yourself the trouble. read more

They rented out a house after we were told it was ours... After trying to contact them, across multiple DAYS, we were finally able to talk to someone, more than a clueless receptionist, and set up an appointment to view the home. We finally, after more than a week of trying to inquire and see the home, actually get to see the home. Everything seems fine. The realestatepros representative spoke poorly of the current tenant, which seemed unprofessional. We put in our application for the home, which wasn't free. The next day, we get a call from the representative stating that "we got the home". We would simply need to drop off the deposit to hold the house, but it was ours. We were the next in line. So, we go to the bank to get a certified check, since they don't accept personal checks at the beginning, and all seems fine. I plan our move. I rent a moving truck for that area. I rented a storage unit in that area. My wife is going to drop the check off after work, today, but then, we receive an email informing us that someone else had applied and just dropped off a deposit check... therefore, we were no longer able to rent the home. Everything was difficult along the way, and, in the end, was a waste of our time and money. If you wish to use their services, GOOD LUCK!
