We had complete confidence in Mike and were expecting to have a long term relationship with this company providing us with financial advice. In addition, they wanted to file extension because I was "late" getting my information to them. I get final reports from my investments at the end of March every year, and it has never been an issue before. In addition, they wanted to have a different accountant prepare my taxes, as opposed to the person I've used all these years. Also, they are no longer allowing in-person meetings. I was to submit my information and pick it up my returns when notified. Korhorn claim they've been undercharging for many years. As they are financial planners, this doesn't reflect well their abilities. And it should be clear, I understand raising fees, but not more than doubling them. They told me I wouldn't be able to find anyone to do it cheaper. I not only found a firm that charges a reasonable price -- they prepared my taxes without filing an extension. I'm disappointed in Korhorn, and I feel they could have handled this better. They've lost my business and I've lost my confidence in them. This is my experience and my opinion only.

My taxes were getting rejected from IRS last year. All because of the previous year's gross income…read moreamount was wrong?? That has nothing to do with the year I was filling for. I spent 150$ with TurboTax and they couldn't help me. I gave up until this year. I called IRS they said to print it and send it with previous year's tax transcripts so they couldn't say figures were wrong. Logged in to TurboTax to print and I couldn't. Those are my records!! They wanted me to spend more money to download software to bring it up. They finally did give it to me at no charge. I spend days and hours with representatives going through the same steps and they could get it to come up, even with their software. I was hung up on three times after hours on the phone. I was told to make an appointment and they should be able to bring it up in office. TurboTax should have the right software to bring up files of their own. I made an appointment at Grand Rapids location. Their address is wrong, I walked about a half hour going to different buildings. I then drove to Lansing and he was nice but couldn't help either that day. Made appointment for today and it wouldn't let me cancel online. I didn't have all my information. The Lansing location representative then scheduled me out to the 27th without my consent. I am not going to make it!! I will never go through them again!!!

You enter the building in a side "alley" entrance and immediately see a large sign with many business names (and what floor they are on) next to an elevator. Turbo Tax is not on this sign. You can take the elevator to floors 2,3 or 4. Again, no signs at any of the elevator exits for Turbo Tax. After going back outside and circling the building to make sure there are no other entrances and asking several passersby we go back to the side entrance and decide to try the second floor first. I decide to try the first unlocked plain glass office door on the 2nd floor to once again ask anybody I see if they have any idea where the Turbo Tax office might be located. There is nobody behind the reception desk, but there is someone visible around the corner doing their best to avoid any eye contact with me. There are two people in the waiting area and I recognize that I've already asked one of them. Meanwhile my husband is in the hallway calling the Turbo Tax number and because this is not the number to the local office he is being told that they will try and reach someone at the local office to give us directions. Suddenly an individual enters this office and asks, "Who's next?" The two people sitting in the waiting area say nothing, so I show him my phone with the Turbo Tax email showing their address and say "I'm just trying to find an office." He asks again, "Who's next?" then turns and goes behind the reception desk and down a hallway. He quickly returns and says, "Joe will meet with you shortly." What???!!!! I knock on the glass door to the hallway and tell my husband that I think this is the place. He hangs up the call and comes in almost the same time Joe comes out from the hallway behind the desk and welcomes us. We asked why no signs to get us there? Why no directions in the email to confirm our appointment? Why no local phone number to call in the email? We were told that he had no control over any of that. Really??!! We said, "No!" and left to find someone competent in life skills to help us with our taxes. As a side note, the person behind the desk told us that he puts up with this "all day long." Shouldn't the light bulb come on and someone from that office do something proactive to avoid this situation? My suggestion would be a phone call with verbal directions, written directions with the appointment confirmation email or even a hand made sign on the glass door on the second floor office entrance. So much for arriving 15 minutes early for our scheduled appointment. It took the entire 15 minutes to wander around aimlessly getting very frustrated!
