Fun place with great helpful people. Only down side is the kids and the Karen parents that complain or get mad cause things are not going their way. Like a couple of the 1 star reviews was there that day don't spawn in facing the other guy or go to a different spawn place. Then they get mad they don't win any drawings. Raise your kids to think and stop babying them. Paintball is more then just a shoot sport you have to think and play with a plan and look at things critically. So get better is also saying think why the same thing keeps happening and do different my 10yr daughter plays and doesn't complain so much as these teen boys. This is a fun place to do paintball. Plan to pay about $50 to $60 per person. We reserved time from 1:00 to 4:00 when they close. I emailed to ask if play stopped at 4:00, just to be clear, and they responded "yes". But on the day our party played, they decided to close early and play ended at 3:45. When I asked, they said, "well, it's almost 4:00, and they are almost out of ammo". We paid over $400 for our group. They should not close early. Let the kids play until closing time. Surplus city combat zone is great. I have been here twice for two different weekend camping/paintball trips and have nothing short of a blast each time. I am new to paintball but this place has gotten me up to speed fast on scenario paintball. They have a campground right next door ($10/night) with clean bathrooms. Also there is the feather river close by camp that can be used to cool off (100+ degrees when we went last). Then next door to the campground is the surplus store that owns the campground and the paintball course. They have some crazy stuff in there, you should check it out. Especially if you need some type of camo because you forgot yours at home (der). Now to the course. It is very big, at least 4 acres (guessing). heavily wooded in some parts open in others. They also have a setup for speedball. But this place is varied. You have elevated places, trucks to hide behind, brush to climb in, bunkers for protection, and 6-7 flag areas for capture the flag. W went one weekend and there was 200+ people there, what a fun weekend. The 100+ degrees was bearable because if the good times being had. Thanks for a great spot to play Surplus City! read more

Asked the employees if our group (who rented out the entire park) could vote on the game/map we would play. They simply replied "no, this is not a democracy" The customer satisfaction should come first, not the satisfaction of those working their ESPECIALLY if the park was rented out to a group. Customer service was extremely poor. Guns worked properly at the very least. read more

Don't go here the owner doesn't care about his customers. We were having an issue with people surrounding the spawn point to the point where we couldn't even touch our spawn, so I went up to the owner and told him about it and he told me to "get better" because we couldn't touch our spawn point without getting shot by 10 people and the owner was doing it too, so nobody on blue team could spawn in. We also bought a Groupon for $35 and it had their location listed in the list of places that accept the Groupon and they said they don't do that and we had to pay $600 to play because we drove an hour and a half to get there. read more

It is 3 stars for number of items available. It is a 1star for price. For a surplus store they are extremely high, a lot of the items you can just go online and orer new for the same price and most time less. If you want a large selection this is a good place. read more

It's an ok park. Usually busy with rentals but sometimes hardly any self equipped walk ons. Call ahead to see if there is anyone to play with or bring you own group. Spring and summer there can be clouds of mosquitos. Seriously you would never see more mosquitos in one place in your life! Bring repellent or wear double layers. Things have been picking up as far as self equipped players. I hate being a walk on player with no one to play with. read more

Overall good experience. Pros: beginner focused, centrally located and fun courses, some staff are good, facility is clean, the rentals are clean and worked well. When we got started, we were able to keep going. Cons: So, some staff were good but most of them were rude, condescending and weren't very approachable. Felt like I was a burden when I asked questions. We showed up payed over 150$ and sat for about an hour and half to even start playing on two separate occasions. We were hard pressed to be included as we only had 2 players in our group. They didn't communicate with us or tell us when we would be able to play. Great course and has awesome potential, but as of today and last week I don't think the experience was worth what I paid, but had fun none the less. read more

we went here for our nephews birthday party. it's our first time to play paintball. masks and equipments are for rent. wear something thick cause the shots gonna bruise. nice maps. call them before if you're bringing groups. if you're having a party theres no shade so bring some tent coz its gonna be hot. equipments are good but the masks doesn't smell good so bring something to clean it up before wearing it. read more

Super fun and affordable to have two hours of fun. Lots of hiding places to choose from. The staff is nice and friendly. Very patient with new comers. I highly recommend a try if you haven't already. You can choose to play with your own private party or with others. They work with you. Ps. They have bench tables and bbq pits for whoever wants to grill. Facility is good. I knocked off 2 stars for taking a 12:30 reservation then telling us they are closing for lunch from 12:30 to 1:00. Kinda defeated the point of the reservation. Staff is a little trashy too. read more
