It seems like any more than 70 would be cramped, though I believe they say it fits over 100 easily. The course is stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms were all clean and updated. The staff was kind and helpful. One issue I had was that the events coordinator was not onsite nor was she in communication with me AT ALL the day of the event. I was really surprised to hear that she'd been out golfing earlier in the day as if my event was pretty meaningless to her. Thankfully, the rest of the staff went above and beyond my expectations. A sweet lady even assisted me bringing in all of my boxes of decor and reunion supplies. The food was outstanding, plentiful, and everything I'd hoped for. Some guests said it was a little salty, but I love salt, so I didn't mind one bit. The food is a bit spendy, but it's served at a country club price, so the cost shouldn't surprise anyone. The meal was served by attentive waitstaff. When the kitchen forgot our few veggie dishes, they were quick to make them right away to remedy the issue. The bartender was excellent. He took orders quickly, made excellent drinks, and was friendly. I do wish there were better or different beers on tap. They carry the Sierra Nevada standards, but other than that, the selection is pretty minimal. Other than the few little things I'd have changed, I experience was pretty close to perfect. I'd recommend Canyon Oaks Country club for small to medium events any time. If you're trying to pick between Canyon Oaks and Butte Creek Country Clubs, I'd have to pick Canyon Oaks having had important events at both. It is a link style without the ocean so there's no trees. We got lucky with a relatively cool, relatively wind free day. It's definitely target golf. On many holes you don't use driver, but it is a relatively short course. Afterwards we went to rock and brew where they had $3 20 oz beers and $10 pound of wings, also good value. The service was outstanding!! The casino was small but nice. Downside it's an hour and 45 minute drive from Sacramento.

That was the first clue that we probably should've just turned around $300 for four of us and we got treated like shit we got to the fourth hole and we weren't going fast enough for the people behind us, which we were on time within three minutes after them, making us late at the clubhouse three of us was in the green. One of us was in the sandpit and she was getting her ball and the guy from up above which was Brad's student hits a ball in about hits my friend wife in the head within 5 feet we did not say anything, but we just kept on going. We got the whole six and then the Ranger came around Brad and was real asshole and told us we needed to speed it up and we let him know that we weren't that far behind and then the people behind us cause they were the ones complaining which we didn't know that they were friends at that time then I let him know that people behind us hit the ball and almost hit somebody and he started making excuses for I did say I was gonna stick the golf ball up the guy's ass. If he hit somebody, he did not like that. He took that as a threat, but hitting some way with the golf balls a threat too he favoritism his student they ruined the game for us and we got threatened to get kicked out then we hit the guard shack again and the guy tells us it's illegal to play six people in the game that we get kicked out. We knew the people in front of us, but they were not playing with us. We caught up to them one time and we talked to him for a few minutes and that was it because they were waiting for the people in front of them because they were going extremely slow. These guys need to do better like I said they ruined a game that we were having fun at over Brad the Ranger and he is a instructor there too. I hope Rolling Hills sees us and does something because when we talk to the people down below, they said he's an issue, especially the ones that clean the carts they do not like him

Yeah the course is rough around the edges but that gives it character. And the greens fees are pretty cheap making a round on the weekend more affordable for those on a budget.

Then the moron working in the pro shop argues with me that I should have known about it, and that most people just call. If you are offering online booking as an option, then block out tee times before the tournament, at least for 18. They block out tee times starting at 8:00. So they're still selling 7:30 tee times to play 18 with no warning on the website like with most courses. The people running the course are halfwits. They had an issues two years ago with their trial membership and were letting people golf for free for months after the trial was done because they're too dumb to check things like that so now they're trying to screw everyone on prices. I'll never be coming back.

I am pleased to report that the greens are in good shape, while the fairways are better than they have been. I'm not saying the fairways are great, but they are playable. However, Tuscan has serious problems. Yesterday I reached my limit. Our tee time was 2:16. When my playing friend and I got there, we were informed we would have to play the front 9 twice, due to a wedding being scheduled at the clubhouse for early evening. I asked whether we could start on the back 9. No deal -- the wedding party would be having photographs taken on the 18th green! Are you freak'n kidding me? We got our cart and headed over to the first tee. By the third green, it was obvious the cart ( a hand-me-down from another local, but successful, course) would not last the day. We nursed it up to 5th, resting it and one of us getting out to walk on the slight uphills. (Nope. Neither of us are porkers.) From the 5th back to the turn is a downhill run. All good. At the turn (is that what you call it when you have to play the front 9 twice?), we asked for and received a different cart. That cart stopped dead in the path on the slight pitch up to the 4th tee box!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? I would like to say this is the first time this happened to me at Tuscan Ridge. ITS NOT! I know, I know. I'm not looking too smart by now. I wanted Tuscan to succeed. It is a challenging course, with spectacular vistas. However, this was my last time. I'm done. Tuscan needs to get the wedding issue fixed. Why is it necessary to close half the course for a wedding? The cart issue has been ongoing for years. The canteen (it's NOT a restaurant) closes at 4 in the afternoon. That cold beer you want? Bring it yourself. Hazards include broken-down equipment around the course, with dead carts scattered here and there. It's a beautiful day. Think I'll head to Bidwell.

My kids had an absolute blast playing through the course, and it was the perfect family outing. What's even better is that there's so much more to do besides mini golf--inside they have arcade games, plus batting cages and even a skating rink just across the parking lot.
