Kiddie pool area perfect for toddlers. Two twin slides for the young kids and plenty of chairs and lounges to relax. Their clubhouse is brand new and hosts a check in desk, beer & wine bar, and snack shop. Bring your own food or have theirs it's all good. They just ask that beer and wine are purchased on property. Pool is open Memorial Day to Labour Day approximately. The highlight of the property is the clay tennis courts excellently maintained. 8 courts in all. They have 4 pickleball courts as well. All courts are lighted and well maintained. This club is full of fun/competitive adults and kids of all experience levels. They have a couple on site pro's that can get your game to wherever you want. They also have adult learn to play, men's/women's leagues and competitive tennis all the way up the rating ladder. Club is family owned and they love tennis and pickleball. They both work to put on wine nights, group events, kids pool parties and in my opinion the dues are cheap. Check them out if you need some pool time, a gym, club, tennis/pickle courts or just a sense of community.

It was quite busy - not surprising given the mid 80s temps and not a cloud in sight. But I was still able to find some quieter areas. It's nice loop to walk around and there is plenty of seating, benches, trash receptables, plus restrooms. Not sure if there is normally a fee to park/enter, but I did not have to pay on my visit. Highly recommend for a leisurely excursion! @azfitfoodfun

Jetton Park is perfect for hot days. It's in a wooded area so it's a well shaded. There's lots for kids to do and while most of the stuff I will say is geared towards kids five and up there are things for younger kids to do and I do appreciate the handicap swings. Kids younger than three have a very tiny area to play compared to everything else. They're definitely going to be drawn to the main play area, which is bigger and you might have bigger kids running around so that creates a little bit of an unsafe situation when you have a mix of uncoordinated children, and bigger rowdy kids. Even if your kids are bigger doesn't mean that they'll be able to use everything at the park. Some of the things are definitely geared towards balance and coordination so if your kids are not well coordinated or have good balance or can catch themselves if they fall I would stay close by. The other thing I love about this park is that we can bring our bikes and take a ride down to the water and let the kids play by the sanded area. The trails are beautiful and you'll definitely get some good distance in if you're going to go to any of the stops along the trail.

Upstairs is a spa type area with salt room and infrared sauna room. I took some time in salt room with an adult canned beverage from bar downstairs.. very relaxing!! Then went back down to bar area where they have food menus and drink menu as well as a variety of fresh smoothies! The staff was very nice and helpful.. answered questions I had and gave suggestions.. hence the salt room lol.. you don't know what's offered if you don't ask! I paid $10 for 45 min in salt room.. they never told us anything about membership.. might be free and pay as you use.. not sure but we enjoyed our visit. Food was pretty good too.. hubby ordered brisket tacos and smoked Mac n cheese which was pretty good! Cook came over get our thoughts on taste he was pretty nice too! They offer drafts and other adult stuff as well. I'd definitely come check it out if in area.. they knew we were here for race so it was pretty laid back.

Pickle ball, tennis, a state of the art gym, a salt room, an infrared sauna and a refreshment lounge which serves smoothies, snacks and beer along with several TVs in some of the areas. I believe they offer yoga too. They offer different packages for individuals and families. We decided to dump our Planet Fitness membership and join up here instead. It's a clean, uncrowded, non judgmental environment. We look forward to getting back into shape now that we are both retired.

The 'new' gym is hideous. in contacting the management,, the person couldn't have cared less, she was condescending, flippant, she didn't listen to what I was saying and she was dismissive. it was clear her missive was to get me off the phone. The staff is put in a terrible spot. they aren't being communicated with from management. people are wandering around lost in the facility because of the lack or non existence of staffing. Rooms aren't available when you talk to one person but another person says they can unlock it. they are RUINING the experience of going to the gym. They are of course charging full price for a lot less than 100% availability of what we had prior. She uses the phrase ''sorry you feel this way" clearly its NOT a feeling, its cognitive thought, something they do Not understand at the Hickory Foundation YMCA. id be embarrassed to tell anyone I was management at this place. No-one cares, its apathy to the Nth degree and it starts At The Very Top who refuse to interact with membership because well, they just do not want to hear it.

There are so many activities and different programs to help anyone get into/stay in shape without getting bored. There are no joining fees or contracts, just monthly dues. Very affordable, around $40 a month for a single person and $65 for a whole family. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool where they offer water aerobic classes, private lessons, and lifeguard training. A wide range of group exercise classes are offered such as Zumba, Martial Arts, Step, Spin, and Yoga to name a few. Swati is an amazing Yoga instructor; highly recommend her Yoga Reflection class. The gym is pretty standard with free weights, machines, treadmills, etc. Personal trainers are available for those who want one-on-one motivation and coaching. Also, can't forget about the basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields and the new climbing tower! I have only been up the tower once...on the easiest side... with 8 year olds zooming up the wall beside me ...but still it was inspiring to make it to the top! Summertime is super busy with campers all over the place but the camp counselors do a good job of keeping them in check. Last but not least, the staff is sooooo friendly and helpful! Especially Thelma, who greets nearly every member by name and goes out of her way to help the elderly members.
