But at 5:00 am I was awakened by planes taking off seemingly directly over the hotel. The employees were very nice, especially the breakfast attendant. The breakfast had a larger variety than most HIE locations. The seating area was fairly crowded with tables and chairs in a small space. My room was clean, the shower looked dirty at first but after examination it seemed to be stained rather than dirty.

It's walking distance from the beach and the main strip. We parked our car when we arrived and never touched it all weekend. The hotel also provides bikes to rent but we found that most places are walking distance and the roads/paths are not very bike friendly. Check in was super simple. Our room was very clean and updated. I wish they had smart TVs to connect to Netflix but we didn't spend much time watching TV anyways so it wasn't a big issue. The restaurant did seemed to get a bit noisy at night which drifted up to our room. The breakfast baskets were a BIG hit! The frittatas tasted so good! The fruit cups were also so fresh. I tried the prosciutto croissant on our last day which hit the spot. The quality of food was top notch - just wish we were able to order more! I had an appointment at the spa as well during our stay. The spa staff is super friendly. I used the robe and spa slippers provided in our room and spent some time in the salt water pool and hot tub before my appointment.

They are Double Dipping in terms of making money on a weekend that family is visiting children for Culver Academy and know all hotels are booked. Just poor business and slimy people. Disgrace and not the way business should be conducted here in America. Hope the $150 was worth it cause you lost a customer who stayed there a couple times a year.

The carpet in my room felt sticky to my feet and left my feet dirty. In the middle of the night, someone was smoking a cigarette and set the smoke detector off for the whole hotel at 1 o'clock in the morning and we had to evacuate and let the fire department clear the building. Worst night sleep of my life. This was $70 cheaper than the Holiday Inn and I deeply regret my decision. You pay for a hotel to get a good nights sleep, I didn't get a good nights sleep.

I'm greeted very friendly with each stay along with clean rooms no issues whatsoever upon check in beds are extremely comfortable rooms are very clean and smell pleasant unlike some hotels in this area. The new GM is an extremely sweet and kind person that always has a smile. I got stuck here last year during the horrible snowstorm that came through here and they provided food until we were able to leave the property. I stay in many different hotels due to travel for work and I will always choose this location. Oh make sure you on time for breakfast because it's amazing

This was, without question, the best Bed & Breakfast experience we've ever had. The property itself is situated right on Lake Michigan on Lake Shore Drive in St. Joseph, and it's been a B&B for several decades. The rooms are nicely furnished, and the view from the deck facing the lake is priceless. However, what makes South Cliff Inn truly spectacular are the owners. You will not find better hosts than Daniel and Allison. Their attention to detail and their personal touch are almost from a different era, and they are singularly focused on providing a memorable experience for every guest. When staying here, it doesn't take long before you realize that nearly every other guest (all week) is a repeat customer.
