Everything was working and this place is pretty modern too that is taken care of pretty well in well-maintained. Plenty of parking spots here too. The State of Michigan government recently made a reauest of proposal to update hand drying in the bathrooms by replacing the old World Dryer Model A's with the brand new VERDEdri's, which is a nice upgrade. The outside is kept very trimmed and manicured. This location has a large truck parking lot that will fill up and get busy during the week. The weekends... it's dead lol. The greenspace is plentiful, so your dog or your legs will enjoy the stretch. If you need to stop, this a decent place that has a consistently clean public bathroom.

I do like getting free road maps, and for those of you younger than old-as-dirt, we used to use these paper maps to get from here to there. Kind of a primitive Google Maps only it worked better. Apparently the State of Wisconsin didn't print new maps for 2024 so I guess the old ones will have to do. This has become a place for homeless people to spend overnight, and I kind of like that they don't roust them in harsh weather but it does mean the place doesn't smell as clean at night. The vending machine coffee is actually better than the gas station and fast food coffee at this exit. Not saying it's good, but the area gas stations and fast food places don't believe in fresh coffee so this is as good as it gets in the afternoon or at night. If you're on a long car trip this is a pleasant area to take a brief walk to relieve lower back pain. There are recycling receptacles though lots of people just put trash into the plastic only and aluminum only bins.

I read online that this is a newer rest stop designed specifically for truckers, with several truck-long parking spaces. So with that in mind, I'm understanding this a bit more. The bathrooms were clean, which is important no matter the type of stop. We'll just remember this when we roll through the next time.

There was a large section of the parking lot blocked off with caution tape partly held up by a trash can. One of the two entrances to the restaurant inside was blocked off with a stack of water bottles and the restaurant space was very disorganized. The drink station had litter on the floor but was fairly busy with people using it so the litter may have happened not long before I noticed. If you need a toilet, you may be in luck with a clean one, but otherwise it's just another average disorganized gas station.

Apparently Indiana's public health strategy is to spread as much disease as possible so that those who don't get killed off, will then not need clean facilities and basic health care. The few food options here are also poorly operated with clearly underpaid employees and unsanitary conditions. If you absolutely have to stop here, be sure to use industrial quantities of alcohol based hand sanitizer after touching anything to get into and out of this place, front the entrance door to the toilet stalls and back out. Rub your hands, rub your legs, your forearms, anything that even remotely or accidentally touched anything inside this place. Also, don't count on these bathrooms having soap, working faucets, clean sinks, or toilet paper (check before you commit to a toilet or you'll be stuck there without paper - but you should always make your own toilet seat liner out of as much paper as you can safely get out of the dispenser because these toilets are never maintained in a condition of cleanliness nor disinfected properly on a regular enough basis). Clearly neither the government of Indiana nor the bloodsucking, publicly traded billionaire corporations (Starbucks, 7-11, Sbarro etc) that operate in this hellhole care if you and your family live or die, so if you absolutely have to stop here be extremely careful with your hygiene.

Restrooms were being cleaned as I was walking in. Restrooms are in modest condition though they've seen to be a bit outdated but thankfully everything was in working condition and nothing was broken. Plenty of parking spots as well so there shouldn't be an issue when it comes to parking with easy access back to highway.

We spent Labor Day weekend at the Harbor Grand per a friend's recommendation and it could not have…read morebeen better. The location is great! It's walking distance from the beach and the main strip. We parked our car when we arrived and never touched it all weekend. The hotel also provides bikes to rent but we found that most places are walking distance and the roads/paths are not very bike friendly. Check in was super simple. Our room was very clean and updated. I wish they had smart TVs to connect to Netflix but we didn't spend much time watching TV anyways so it wasn't a big issue. The restaurant did seemed to get a bit noisy at night which drifted up to our room. The breakfast baskets were a BIG hit! The frittatas tasted so good! The fruit cups were also so fresh. I tried the prosciutto croissant on our last day which hit the spot. The quality of food was top notch - just wish we were able to order more! I had an appointment at the spa as well during our stay. The spa staff is super friendly. I used the robe and spa slippers provided in our room and spent some time in the salt water pool and hot tub before my appointment.

The decor is very nice and the hotel has an overall just nice classy aesthetic with a beautiful actual working fireplace in the lobby. A HUGE one, they were nice enough to let us check in early. This is huge if you have children especially ones that need to nap. The hotel was super clean. Our room was spotless. The king suite offered so much space for the 3 of us. The location is pretty central to most things you'd want to visit in the area. The in-room breakfast makes it super easy in the morning to have a stress free bite to eat in the AM. All the food we enjoyed seemed a step above typical "hotel food" Another HUGE plus, it was basically empty the day we visited. We had the entire pool to ourselves. My 3 year old was in heaven. This alone was amazing, lol Ok so now the cons: The hotel is super DARK inside. It's just more geared towards adults. The room was painted black and also super dark. Just took away from the beautiful sunshine that was outside the walls of the hotel, Advertised in the room for smores roasting but was told by the front desk they stopped doing that. Advertised for Ben and Jerries Hotline which is another added cost when you are already paying so much for the hotel. Not much for families to do here. Or if there was activities or things to do, no one really explained them. All in all would stay here again being mindful of the caveats!!!!
