Tom Yum Soup (Lemongrass Soup) - $20.10
    Bryant D.

Would you believe me if I told you I paid $20 for a soup? Would you believe me if I told you the soup was barely half full? I do not fully understand the reasoning of a soup costing more than an entree being served this way. Unacceptable.

I used to love the Thai food restaurant previously housed at this location called My Thai Cafe. I used to live nearby and dine there regularly especially their lunch specials. The Thai salad with peanut dressing, Pad Se ew, Drunken noodle were all consistently delicious. I moved to Shore Road and when ordering food delivery I noticed My Thai Cafe disappeared to oblivion. Then came Come on Thai and was happy to see a new Thai place take over. I took a chance and ordered: curry puffs ( small portion) Thai salad and Pad See Ew; all delicious. Except for tonight... I ordered Pad See Ew with chicken and fried tofu with sweet chili sauce. I also requested a wedge of lime for noodle dish and of course chopsticks. The first helping of Pad See Ew had a fishy undertone taste.. just did. The second helping tasted much better. The real disconnect was the tofu.. as you can see from my picture not golden brown, the texture was a bit rubbery and just blah. Additionally, no lime wedge and no chopsticks. Honestly, what's the point of adding a note in the note section of the order when no one pays attention? Utensils were provided, forks, which were not what I asked for. Honestly this time around rated 3 stars, I bumped it to 4 because my past orders were very tasty. I would love to bump it to 5 but consistency is the key ingredient missing. Come on Thai! * review for delivery only

My friends treated me to dinner this past Friday. I made a group reservation through Google and promptly received a confirmation about our reservation. We arrived on time and saw that a table was reserved for us. We usually get a table even without a reservation but since we were a group of 6, I didn't want to to risk it. We ordered a few appetizers for the table including Golden Calamari, Chicken Satay, and curry puffs. All were delicious. My friend and I ordered Thai iced tea as well. I ordered mine without milk and added lactaid milk I brought from home. I really hope they consider offering this beverage with an alternative dairy option. It beats bringing my own, which I'll continue doing if they don't offer it. We each ordered our own entrees. I got my favorite which was the drunken noodle with shrimp (spice level 1); my husband got the drunken noodle with chicken (spice level 1); my friends ordered drunken noodle with pork belly (spice level 2), pad thai without scallions or onions (spice level 2), basil fried rice with vegetables, and green curry. We all enjoyed our dishes very much. The service was still good even though it got busy after we arrived.

Dropped in here on a Friday night. The restaurant decor is very bright and cozy. I came earlier around 5pm, there was no wait. We were greeted and served quickly. The Thai iced tea is absolutely amazing !!!! I loved it here. The food is also good quality. I throughly enjoyed my pad Thai and crab rangoon. The portions are big and the pricing aligns well with the potions. There was a flag placed in mine I believe because it was vegetarian, and there are plenty of vegetarian options on this menu. Would come dine here again

I came here on a weekday afternoon, the place was empty since it's before the time people usually get off work. We were greeted and seated right away. They have a good amount of things on their menu, so a lot to choose from. We ordered papaya salad, mango salad, green curry, pineapple fried rice, and satay. We all agreed that everything was pretty good, except for the satay. I didn't think it was really well seasoned, on the bland side. But overall it was. Will come back. Also FYI, they have a break 3:45-5pm.

I had ordered online with lackluster results but I'm sure glad I gave an in person visit a try! The waitress was really friendly from the start and attentive despite a lot of tables being occupied. I got the pad kee mao, the BBQ pork and the massaman curry roti. The massaman curry roti was delicious - the curry flavorful and the roti crispy. I just wish there was more of the roti! I ran out before the curry was even halfway done. The pad kee mao tasted way better than when it was delivered! I asked for as spicy as they could make it and I could feel the heat on my tongue. Definitely one of the more serious heat I've had in Thai food. The BBQ pork was great, too! The pork was juicy and flavorful. I ordered because I was really curious what Thai BBQ might be. Not sure if this was authentic in any way, but the dish reminded me of Viet porkchops quite a bit. No complaints here.

The food is so good! I love thai food and this place really hits the spot! Everything is so tasty and great service. The drunken noodle is on point and the green curry is delicious! Everything is so yummy, I will be back!

The restaurant opened under new management in February 2025 and has been a welcome addition to the variety of ethnic restaurants on the street. The menu has a nice mix of traditional and creative choices. I had the seafood/chicken pad thai and was favorably impressed - several broiled shrimp and fried calamari complemented the chicken in a sweet sauce that was just what I was looking for after a long bike ride on a hot day. In the short time I was there, several delivery drivers picked up orders, several parties were seated and the phone rang multiple times with orders, attesting to the popularity of the menu. I'd also highlight the friendly, attentive vibe of the owner Pop, who is genuinely concerned that diners have the best possible experience. No liquor license or BYOB at the moment, but that is expected to change soon. Hoping to return later this week with friends who have just moved to nearby Bensonhurst.

    Roti with Massaman curry sauce.

I was that dummy who unknowingly walked in here thirty minutes before closing. Nonetheless, I was greeted and seated with outmost warmth. What I got: Massaman Curry with fried tofu: I have read some reviews that say the curry is too watery for their taste, but, as a fan of thick curry myself, authentic Massaman curry isn't suppose to be thick. The spices were there; the veggies--carrot, potato, and onions--were crisp; and the fried tofu was perfectly cooked. 5/5. Roti with Massaman sauce: I love roti. Some places do not know how to prepare roti, either burning it or simply reheating it. This roti is...perfection. Pair that with the fantastic Massaman curry sauce and you have one tasty appetizer. I would return just for this. Delightful! 5/5. I'll be returning to try the rest of the curries and some noodles!

Wow wow wow!....... Literally "THE BEST" first time having drunken noodles and let me tell you it won't be my last, it's cooked with love, purrfection, actually felt I was in Thailand eating this food The curry puffs were very soft, flaky tasty!! The fried rice OmG definitely the best I've ever had, the right portion sizes. Friend my service, clean was surprised they were rated as a B. But nonetheless best Thai I've had.

Simply lemonade that was absolutely amazing.

Great food, terrific service! I love a place where my kids will try new things. Try the iced teas, lemonades and multiple apps.

Some of the best Thai food in NYC. Everything is very flavorful. Very cozy spot for indoor dining, good for couples or groups. I'm very fond of their crispy pork and Chicken with Basil Sauce.

My new favorite restaurant…read more The food was good, fresh, presumably well-sourced based on taste, and a very fair value. The restaurant is not overly expensive -- the $65.00 lunch bill below suggests a high-end selection and/or apps. I had a pineapple mint lemonade, sea bass on saffron risotto, a lovely salad topped with potato gnocchi, and cake dessert for $85 inclusive of 20% tip and tax. Nearly everything tasted fresh and homemade. Worth it. If this were served in Restaurant Row, the bill would be $40 more and the food not nearly as good. Because Beets & Carrots offers something rare and startlingly somehow in decline: food that tastes like food the body happily accepts as such. They serve meals that stand out simply because they taste like food. It was nice to dine outside the home feeling confident no digestive issues, lethargy, brain fog, bloating, etc were around the corner. You can tell that someone health conscious who cares about how ingredients show up in the meal is in the kitchen, someone who thinks food is both very fun and very serious. Least favorite: The lemonade. Mostly personal preference here, as I prefer a much tarter, less watery lemonade with higher lemon:water volume ratio. But I think most people would like it; I would get it again. Favorite: Both the entree and salad (which surprised me with a deliciously simple horseradish dressing) were great, but the bass wins in my book. Skin crisped to perfection...very flavorful fish and a great cut...creamy, perfect risotto. I appreciated that the risotto wasn't too salty as well.

The waitress her name was Jennifer, she was very nice and accommodating. I didn't experience any attitude or rudeness from any of the staff which was good. My only complaint is that she didn't write down our order which in turn got our food all wrong. I ordered the burger well done, my chick ordered hers medium. Well I ended up with the medium and she got the well done. We wanted cheddar cheese, well we both got swiss. We wanted truffle fries and we both ended up with regular fries. So yeah this pretty much goes down to not writing exactly what we wanted and us getting whatever food they felt like giving us. I would recommend next time to please write down customers orders so that the paying customer gets exactly what he's paying for. I will say again the food was very good but they screwed up the orders. Will I go back, I don't know but I hope in future they write orders down so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

You order your food at the front counter, and while we waited, the owner surprised us with a complimentary almond croissant since it was our first visit. It was absolutely delicious -- flaky, fresh, and easily one of the best almond croissants I've ever had. The menu has a great variety of options. Home is where the heart is and there is nothing quite like a home cooked meal. I have to say most Bay Ridgians enjoy dining local and in our neighborhood. I love to support neighborhood gems because majority of restaurant owners here, love their clients, establish loyalty through cooking delicious food and provide consistent great customer service. I was in the mood for a " comfort food"breakfast, you know, eggs, avocado, mozzarella, tomato, deliciousness and I found it on the menu simply named "Breakfast Sandwich". Which consists of voila: Mozzarella, avocado, tomato jam, arugula, crispy bacon, dijonaise, sunny side up egg between multigrain toasts. I ordered this sans the bacon ( requested turkey bacon which they do not have). What arrived in my plate was this decadent open faced egg sandwich that looked delectable.. and was!! Let's first talk about the wheat toast: I tasted it naked and it simply melted in my mouth. The ingredients worked well together, perfect synchronicity. I used one half of the toast to sop up any fallen ingredients. Highly recommend! For a drink, I wanted something a bit different, thus, ordered the Mango Mint Peach tea, fruity with a hint of mint. Loved it and went well with the Sammy! There are lovely options besides breakfast sandwiches like quinoa, oatmeal, granola, pancakes, French toast.. breakfast is served all day and lunch is served @noon. I arrived before 12 and was told I can order breakfast or lunch. It has a cozy, intimate vibe which I love.. one where you can dine solo, or do work or read or just enjoy the fabulous food. I will make "The Common" my home away from home. The mousse itself is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami. I just wish it came with something better on the side. The pita was a little underwhelming and was not warmed all the way through. The crispy potato tart was excellent. The potato was super crispy, and a bite with the salmon, egg, sour cream, and potato together was perfect. The lightly dressed arugula helped cut through the richness and made for a nice palate cleanser. The burger looked pretty simple when it arrived, but it ended up being surprisingly good. The patty was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Overall, a great neighborhood spot and one I would happily come back to.
