I eat here often. I always do take out, but stepping inside the place for the first time, it's really nice looking. Kind and friendly service. I love getting the special rolls. They come with an extra choice of rolls on the side. It can get a bit pricey depending on what you choose, but it's ll well worth it. Some rolls are about $30. But I don't mind paying for quality.

Came for take out. My daughter loved her double portion of California rolls and I loved my gyoza. The staff was super friendly. The gyoza portion was was pretty small; I recommend doubling up. It tasted great, I'd definitely will eat again.

A year into the pandemic and I'm still ordering their lunch specials! Great value, fast service, healthy options, tasty food and beautiful presentation. Love it! I wish they opened a little earlier than 11am though, the kids have lunch at 11am during remote learning! :)

Always delicious and beautiful sushi rolls! Buy one get one specials rolls are such a good deal. And placing a pickup order on father's day was a breeze.

This is your run of the mill sushi spot in the neighborhood. Prime location by the buses and train station. Several blocks away from my old high school haha. Nonetheless, it's good food with decent prices and friendly staff. Their chairs are a bit clunky but comfortable. I don't recall much of their decor besides the chairs. Had a basic order for an impromptu dinner here; spicy salmon and a ginza roll. Also ordered a taro bubble tea which was really good. My friend had a more complex order which I didn't bother to figure out because he simply pointed to the pictures in the menu sooo it should be easy to replicate if you recognize it from my photos lol. If I were in the area more, they'd probably be my go to! I recommend checking it out. I'll try to stop by again and order more interesting menu items, but alas this is all I have for now. They left a good first impression on me and I feel like that counts for something.

My GO TO sushi spot in that area IMO it's the best for the price Delivery is great, food is great Consistently delicious

Salmon teriyaki Bento box (lunch special comes with salad or soup)

I frequent their sister restaurant that is on Avenue U very often. So I already expected great food and service from Omiya. I ordered for delivery a salmon teriyaki Bento box during their lunch special so it came with a side salad ( you have the choice between a salad and soup). The California roll that came in the bento taste tasted very fresh. I love eating imitation crab. The tempura items included (taro, shrimp, sweet potato, and suimai) were very good. The salmon was a little dry but that might have been because I ordered for delivery.

My maki roll was huge size! Delicious and I can't finish it.

I've been going to this place like for 3 years. Today I came and place my order to go, and parampam --- in like 2 minutes everything was ready! Wow! Great service and super friendly atmosphere there. The only complain;))))))) that my maki rolls was very big size, and I could not finish them. Also I ordered spicy tuna and salmon, and they've been without stupid crunch like many places put non stop(I hate it). But it's amazing that they make really good size of sushi. If I will be in this area, I will definitely come back there.

Horrible place with mediocre sushi. Went in for lunch one weekday and while most restaurants in the area are typically teeming with customers, this place had only 2 other tables occupied. That's the first red flag. Second red flag is the exorbitantly high prices for rolls. The reason, buy one get one "free." This place is a joke, service is nice but the food is subpar at best. Fish is lacking in flavor and pieces are small. Paid for two salmon roe sashimi ala carte and the eggs were not fresh at all. Shriveled and not glossy, they seemed to be a few days old at the least. The kicker? They charged me $1.00 for sriracha in a saucer, you know, like if you go to a reputable restaurant and ask for a condiment. Charged me also $1.00 for spicy mayo served as a condiment. Im surprised my glass of water wasn't $0.25 for the ice and $0.10 for the cup. Credit card machine was down so they took my card number down. Told them I was on a lunch break and I needed to go. They took their time and didn't tell me the machine was down till I got up and walked to the register and asked what was going on they took almost an hour and a half. I wouldn't come here for a free meal let alone pay for one again. Stay away from this place.

Still my favorite sushi spot after all these years! The sushi is always fresh and the price is affordable. I always recommend the lunch menu; 3 rolls for $12.95.

I use to come here for sushi a lot in the past. The place is pretty big and can accommodate large parties. I like their bogo free appetizer and special rolls when dining in. I usually order the sunomono, rock shrimp or Star Wars. I like the sunomono. The quality of the fish is not bad and I like the sauce that's drizzle over it. The rock shrimp and Star Wars are very similar. They are both fried shrimp but with different sauce. The rolls are pretty cheap compared to the city. It runs from $3 and up and they have a good selection of rolls. This is one of the few places that have mango and apple rolls. I like the eel mango roll, tempura rolls, futo maki and Alaskan roll. I order the spicy salmon and tuna sometimes but I prefer their other rolls. From the special rolls I usually get the dragon roll and soft shell crab. Our bill usually comes out to be around $40-$50 for two people and we are always full.

My new favorite restaurant…read more The food was good, fresh, presumably well-sourced based on taste, and a very fair value. The restaurant is not overly expensive -- the $65.00 lunch bill below suggests a high-end selection and/or apps. I had a pineapple mint lemonade, sea bass on saffron risotto, a lovely salad topped with potato gnocchi, and cake dessert for $85 inclusive of 20% tip and tax. Nearly everything tasted fresh and homemade. Worth it. If this were served in Restaurant Row, the bill would be $40 more and the food not nearly as good. Because Beets & Carrots offers something rare and startlingly somehow in decline: food that tastes like food the body happily accepts as such. They serve meals that stand out simply because they taste like food. It was nice to dine outside the home feeling confident no digestive issues, lethargy, brain fog, bloating, etc were around the corner. You can tell that someone health conscious who cares about how ingredients show up in the meal is in the kitchen, someone who thinks food is both very fun and very serious. Least favorite: The lemonade. Mostly personal preference here, as I prefer a much tarter, less watery lemonade with higher lemon:water volume ratio. But I think most people would like it; I would get it again. Favorite: Both the entree and salad (which surprised me with a deliciously simple horseradish dressing) were great, but the bass wins in my book. Skin crisped to perfection...very flavorful fish and a great cut...creamy, perfect risotto. I appreciated that the risotto wasn't too salty as well.

So the lobster new berg flavors were amazing I'd want to order it over and over but I will never again either . Portion is abnormally small, and for the price of 40$ you definitely would expect a lot more and also seems as if the lobster was also overly chopped and not enough in the dish . The burgers were great Stroganoff was amazing And the gnocchi the duck ragu But every item are over small in portions unfortunately So if you want greys flavors or even amazing flavors but are a light eater then this is your spot

I opted for the A1 Signature Poke with salmon, tuna and shrimp and my kiddo did a Create Your Own poke bowl. We were waiting for another order for my younger boys so we ate our bowls in the car. The cuts of fish in my bowl were great, tasted fresh and so good. I was a little iffy on the mango but trusted the process and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the mango chunks paired with everything else. The portions were generous and there was enough sauce for all the components. We even got 2 drinks to go, on the house which I thought was such a sweet gesture since it was pretty warm outside. Well I ended up with the medium and she got the well done. We wanted cheddar cheese, well we both got swiss. We wanted truffle fries and we both ended up with regular fries. The mousse itself is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami. I just wish it came with something better on the side. The pita was a little underwhelming and was not warmed all the way through. The crispy potato tart was excellent. The potato was super crispy, and a bite with the salmon, egg, sour cream, and potato together was perfect. The lightly dressed arugula helped cut through the richness and made for a nice palate cleanser. The burger looked pretty simple when it arrived, but it ended up being surprisingly good.
