    Beef Negimaki

Establishment is beautiful yet casual and service was wonderful. There's one woman handling the front of the house and the dining room, and she did a beautiful job. The tea was delicious, as well. Food was 'Meh'. The Avocado crab salad - skimpy on the avocado (one beautiful, skinny line of avocado slices as a border to hold fields greens, topped with about 1/4cup of crab, shredded). The Beef Negimaki - waaaay over stuffed with scallions; so stuffed that it was all I tasted. The Sushi Rolls - some were okay, some were 'meh'. The bill was $70 - A lot considering we weren't thrilled. We don't plan on going back because it wasn't for us, but may be for someone else.

A great restaurant in the neighborhood to have delicious Japanese food including sushi and drinks. The ambience is chilled and relaxed. Including a nice outdoor backyard for the spring and summer times The staff and service is very friendly and excellent.

Really great prices and really great food! I absolutely love underrated restaurants, food is great and fresh, prices are great, no long wait times, barely any hype, it's a gem! Food comes out fast always and it's a chill and comforting vibe. I've tried various things from this place since I come here occasionally. All speciality roles are amazing Hangry roll is delicious, dragon roll is awesome. The Thai style food is good and not bad. The place is clean and has a comforting atmosphere which I always appreciate. Shobu is good restaurant and I hope they keep it up!

I've been here a number of times and it's always a pleasure. Parking is horrendous so be advised to plan around that if you're driving in for your visit. That's also mainly the reason I seldom come here, but food is delicious, atmosphere is serene and servers are super nice! Today I tried their stir fried shrimp udon noodles, and the seasoning was so delicious! Shrimp was cooked perfectly! Dragon ball appetizer is a good size and came looking as delicious as it tasted. Their quality of food is consistent and well presented. The prices are highly competitive and lean towards the more expensive side in comparison but it's nothing outrageous and they certainly uphold their standards. I recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

This place was alright.... Came in on a Monday afternoon. A little expensive but alright... (due to the tuna being $2.50 per each piece) We came for lunch and we were like the second table seated. Wasn't busy at all. So service was quick, nice and attentive. Place was clean and we enjoyed our nice quiet lunch. Would come again!

Backyard. It's bit chilly tonight. So we went inside. Would be nice in a crisp night

The food is fresh and tasty. I just don't like the chef's special sauce. The service is quick and polite. The ambiance is Asian chic.

My new favorite restaurant…read more The food was good, fresh, presumably well-sourced based on taste, and a very fair value. The restaurant is not overly expensive -- the $65.00 lunch bill below suggests a high-end selection and/or apps. I had a pineapple mint lemonade, sea bass on saffron risotto, a lovely salad topped with potato gnocchi, and cake dessert for $85 inclusive of 20% tip and tax. Nearly everything tasted fresh and homemade. Worth it. If this were served in Restaurant Row, the bill would be $40 more and the food not nearly as good. Because Beets & Carrots offers something rare and startlingly somehow in decline: food that tastes like food the body happily accepts as such. They serve meals that stand out simply because they taste like food. It was nice to dine outside the home feeling confident no digestive issues, lethargy, brain fog, bloating, etc were around the corner. You can tell that someone health conscious who cares about how ingredients show up in the meal is in the kitchen, someone who thinks food is both very fun and very serious. Least favorite: The lemonade. Mostly personal preference here, as I prefer a much tarter, less watery lemonade with higher lemon:water volume ratio. But I think most people would like it; I would get it again. Favorite: Both the entree and salad (which surprised me with a deliciously simple horseradish dressing) were great, but the bass wins in my book. Skin crisped to perfection...very flavorful fish and a great cut...creamy, perfect risotto. I appreciated that the risotto wasn't too salty as well.

You would never know what this place is due to lack of actual signage on it, and weakling by you'd think it's a grab and go of some kind BUT NOT AT ALL!! This place whatever we ordered which was a lot have great flavors and were perfectly cooked . The start of the show was also unfortunately the one that disappointed as well. So the lobster new berg flavors were amazing I'd want to order it over and over but I will never again either . Portion is abnormally small, and for the price of 40$ you definitely would expect a lot more and also seems as if the lobster was also overly chopped and not enough in the dish . The burgers were great Stroganoff was amazing And the gnocchi the duck ragu But every item are over small in portions unfortunately So if you want greys flavors or even amazing flavors but are a light eater then this is your spot

First, the space is small, but very nicely decorated, and they do an impressive job utilizing every inch of the available space without making it feel like you've been seated inside someone's pantry. There are outdoor tables as well, although on the day we visited, it was approximately 100°F with about 80% humidity, and thunderstorms were lurking in the distance like they had a personal vendetta against Brooklyn. So, needless to say, we opted for the air conditioning. Now let's talk about the food. The Man ordered a panini and I ordered a wrap. Both were delicious. However, both were also a little on the dry side, so a little more moisture/sauce would have taken them from "really good" to "DAMN, that's good." But then there was the chicken. Good Lord. I don't know what Panino Rustico does to their chicken, but I would like the recipe, the scientific formula, the family secret, the DNA sequence--something. I don't know if it's brined, marinated for three days, dry-brined, blessed by an Italian grandmother, or simply handled by someone who possesses supernatural poultry abilities, but that chicken was INCREDIBLE. The flavor was so ridiculously good that I would happily eat that chicken every day. It was easily the standout of the entire meal. The menu is also enormous--which is a wonderful thing--but it means you need more than five minutes to make a decision. There are so many options that choosing lunch becomes less of a meal-selection process and more of a strategic planning exercise. Unfortunately, this is where our experience took a bit of a nosedive. The service. On the day we visited, the service was, quite frankly, poor. Our server was very eager to take our order, but once the order was placed and our food arrived, it was as though we had entered a witness protection program. We weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink when we ordered. We weren't offered refills. We weren't given the basic mid-meal "How is everything?" check-in. And after we finished eating, we sat there for well over 10 minutes trying to get someone's attention. We had both clearly finished our meals, and I even placed my silverware and napkin appropriately on my plate--the universal restaurant-language equivalent of flashing a giant neon sign that says: "WE ARE DONE EATING." Still... nothing. And this was particularly disappointing because we had actually planned on ordering dessert. By the time our server finally came over, however, we'd been sitting there waiting for so long that our enthusiasm for dessert had completely evaporated. At that point, we simply asked for the check. And that's a shame, because I really wanted dessert. Despite the service issues, we WILL be back. Why? That chicken. Seriously. Whatever you're doing to that chicken, keep doing it. The food itself was flavorful and enjoyable, the space is cute and thoughtfully arranged, and the menu offers an almost absurd number of choices--which is a good problem to have. I can absolutely see us returning and trying more of the menu. I just hope our next visit comes with a little more attentive service. Because Panino Rustico clearly has the food part down. They have some genuinely delicious offerings, and that chicken alone is enough to make me come back. Now, if they can get the service to match the food, they'll have a seriously fantastic neighborhood spot on their hands. We'll be back. We'll be ordering that chicken again. And next time, we're getting dessert. Assuming someone finds us before we're forced to send up a flare.

I called ahead to order my food to go, and there were no issues at all. The food was really good. My only complaint is that I wish they had told me there was no dipping sauce included. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

The place is small but clean and well kept. There are tv screens on the wall behind the register with the menu but they have menus on their tables too. The service was a little slow, but it did not take away from my first encounter and the quality of the food. I opted for the A1 Signature Poke with salmon, tuna and shrimp and my kiddo did a Create Your Own poke bowl. We were waiting for another order for my younger boys so we ate our bowls in the car. The cuts of fish in my bowl were great, tasted fresh and so good. I was a little iffy on the mango but trusted the process and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the mango chunks paired with everything else. The portions were generous and there was enough sauce for all the components. We even got 2 drinks to go, on the house which I thought was such a sweet gesture since it was pretty warm outside. Already wanting another poke bowl as I write this. I can't wait to be back. Highly recommend.

Well I ended up with the medium and she got the well done. We wanted cheddar cheese, well we both got swiss. We wanted truffle fries and we both ended up with regular fries. We ordered the chicken liver mousse, crispy potato tart, and burger. The chicken liver mousse is a must order and something I get every time I come here, whether it is this location or the Park Slope one. The mousse itself is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami. I just wish it came with something better on the side. The pita was a little underwhelming and was not warmed all the way through. The crispy potato tart was excellent. The potato was super crispy, and a bite with the salmon, egg, sour cream, and potato together was perfect. The lightly dressed arugula helped cut through the richness and made for a nice palate cleanser. The burger looked pretty simple when it arrived, but it ended up being surprisingly good. The patty was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Overall, a great neighborhood spot and one I would happily come back to.
