I've had chicken parm and pizza here before. The chicken parm sandwich is pretty good - mostly driven by their sauce which is top notch. I would joke they should bottle it but it is in fact bottled and available for sale lol. Pizza is ok - not my favorite crust but ingredients taste fresh and of course ... the sauce! I think it's more of a sub shop than a pizza shop but good to have options. Staff has always been friendly and attentive when eating there. The atmosphere has that old school Italian place vibe perfected. Half expect to hear the Godfather soundtrack playing when I come inside. read more

I stopped into Comella's to grab a bite to eat before heading to the TCAN. The restaurant is small but they make really good use of the space. They offer dine in, pick up, and I also believe delivery. They had a fairly decent sized menu with different meal sizing options. The prices were incredibly reasonable and the portions were also very generous. The young ladies running the front counter were incredibly friendly and hardworking. You could tell they liked the job and helping the numerous customers that were coming in. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. Small and cozy spot in downtown Natick that fed many hungry coworkers for lunch today! We stopped in for a pickup order which they had "hot and ready" as soon as they opened. We tried many types of pizza, with the chicken+bacon+ranch and plain pepperoni being top hits! The prices are a bit high for what I didn't know is a chain of restaurants, but it really did seem like they put the most into our food and we appreciated it. Used to have $5 large cheese pizzas which were so awesome and my families and friends go-to, especially for big parties and events. However they continued to raise their prices and decrease the quality of their ingredients. I've had the chicken broccoli ziti and I liked it, just tasted like a classic pizza place pasta dish. My favorite pizza is their Olivia Rose, which is buffalo chicken pizza. It has the perfect amount of sauce and is definitely one of my favorites, but definitely a little pricey. It's also good to note this is a red sauce pizza, not white sauce. The thing about these pizzas is that they can be hit or miss depending the day or type of pizza you get. They can sometimes they can be kind of undercooked with almost too much sauce? The center of the pizza sometimes has cheese taken out and too much sauce / undercooked sauce in the middle. Or sometimes they are a little more cooked with less sauce and can also almost be a cheesy bread. Either way it is still good but I definitely would much rather not have much too much sauce. The picture below is one of their better pizzas, it was cooked just right. I feel like when you add toppings (like onion and pepper) is when the pizza is usually undercooked. read more

Craving eggplant parm my tummy drove me here. Thank you yelpers for helpful tips! This is a small place and I can see why it is mostly take out. On the end of the corner of Main Street is this little place with just a few tables. It did give me that inviting feel to want to go back and eat there. The mess was just that. A mix of this and that which is hard to describe. Wanting the eggplant parm I ordered a side of the mess to go with it. For about $9 I got 3 meals out of it. Filling for sure. The eggplant parm reminded me of lasagna since it was layered. It was thick and delic and I was pleasantly happy with the side of mess. After placing my order and getting there in about 10 mins it was hot and ready to go. Now the dilemma is if I go back to try their pizza or getting seconds on the eggplant parm. Parking is hit or miss in downtown Natick but most of the parking is within walking distance with a meter. read more

Pizza is very inconsistent at Comella's especially for what the price is up to now. Ordered a large Pepperoni and while the Pepperoni was adequate, but the foundation pizza was minimalist with the tomato sauce and cheese and the dough was uneven and very thin on one side of the pizza. Ordered lunch from them online to be delivered. 2 miles away. 11:50 am. Called at 12:55 and was told 10 minutes so I decided to go pick it up. After a 5 minute drive I walked into an empty store ( no customers) and was told they are "just finishing up" after another 10 minutes I was told " they dont have any morning drivers" guess what, Ms. Entitled, its after 1 pm. I wish I could give zero rating.The staff threw away my to go box in trash when I went to the restroom .( The food had hardly been eaten ,I had to catch a train so was rushing). This is still understood, but is the staff so dumb , I had just taken the to go box from them and I was the only customer in that restaurant. Then one of the staff offers me the to go box from the trash saying the trash can was empty do you still want it? What am I a slave to eat food out of trash can?. I ordered a large pizza and some cannoli for a family Labor Day lunch and Comellas did not disappoint. The crust on the pizza had perfect snap/chew balance and it was aromatic from abundant freshly chopped basil. My only comment is the sauce needed more salt, it was a little bland. It's easily correctable at home, but something the restaurant could easily fix themselves. The woman working at the front desk was great also, very efficient and friendly. read more

I came here after signing a lease for my apartment over five years ago and have been coming here ever since. It truly is home made tasting, the pasta sauce or "gravy" is wonderful. The prices have gone up a lot, the $5 large cheese pizza is now $8+ which I do think is too much for what it is, and the calzones aren't very good. Tonight I went back to my first Comella's meal, eggplant Parmesan- it's so delicious! I suggest adding mushrooms and green peppers to it, even better! The portion is huge and with this you absolutely get what you pay for (I didn't order w any pasta either and it's a meal in itself). I'm also a big fan of the cannolis w chocolate chips. The only flaw is that they don't deliver, but it was usually a stop on the ride home or a short walk to pick up our order. Your siblings (the newton one especially) I enjoyed, but you...you fall short. The Mess: Poorly cooked pasta, skimped on the extras, and the sause was bland The meatball sub: Flavorless meat, same bland sauce, and soggy bread. And whoever made it just slopped it together carelessly, The italian sub: the flattest I have seen, skimped on the meat, way too small, looked like someone sat on it before you gave it to me (and kinda tasted like it too). Natick, unfortunately, is short on good lunch places. I thought Comella's could fill that void a bit, but it is just another disappointment. I got refunded, but I would have expected a discount on my next visit for that type of inconvenience, especially since I only have a 30 min lunch break. The price was mysteriously almost $2 more expensive when I went to pick it up, apparently because I got grilled chicken on my place (was never asked nor specified). Fine, ok, I was hungry so I didn't argue. The sauce was watered down and bland. The pasta was a bit overcooked. Yuck! Ordered two pizzas and a Greek salad for my family. WAY OVER PRICED at $53. First off, the salad had very little lettuce and TONS of those disgusting, cheap black olives from the can. They have Sanpellegrino in the windows and an broad pasta offering, so present as a sort of trattoria. But that is where it ends... If you want pizza and munchies, this is a great place! If you want an Italian meal, it's not. The pasta offering was limited, the sauce was immature and pressed with sugar and there were no vegetables that I could see - and no wine. We tried for a whole meal and were served, garlic bread, salad, stuffed shells and veal - all at the same time. It was fun to - go family style and shuffle the food about. I have also ordered a half sheet of tortellini and it is a large portion, served 6 ppl. I usually order on a weekend night and the place has been hopping with ppl picking up orders.
