The Dudley is a rustic pub located on Dudley pond. It is extremely popular with the locals. From the outside it looks like a shack. On the inside it looks like a shack. It's just so fun and comfortable and it's gotta a certain vibe. It boasts friendly service and really good food. The portions are generous. The fries are crispy. The burgers are huge (if not a bit under seasoned). Prices are reasonable. Just a great low key place to sit down for a burger and a beer. Can't wait for patio season!

Still the best onion rings in the land. Lots of things have changed, but the Chat is untouched by time. Go, grab a beer, chat with some locals, and cheer on the Sox.

Love this Place Most generally think of the Chateau has a hamburger joint or neighborhood bar. But, in the past year, it has upgraded to a full fledged lunch and dinner eatery. And the food is good, whether you have the renown mini-burger or a grilled chicken/salad wrap. We eat lunch there after a doctors appointment and we drop in for a drink or burger now and then. The atmosphere is comfortable and funky- feels almost like a throwback to a college hole-in-the-wall hang out of the late 1950's and 1960's. A very comfortable and memorable experience which you will like. The bar will accommodate you with a satisfying drink of your choice. Throw in the fact that this place is basically in a neighborhood right on a lake. One thing to know is there are very few bar seats if that is your thing and the place is always busy because the prices are affordable for the drinks and food that you get. Thanks

Have wanted to go here for years and finally made it - what a hidden gem! From the location, to the decor, to the charm , to the service , food, and drinks , this was an A+ dive bar experience for me. This is charming and homey and 100% will be back .

    Interior dining area

A pleasant surprise. A top 10 5 star dive bar hidden away in a neighborhood. I visited with my young grandson. He enjoyed the chicken fingers from the kids meal. I had the fish and chips which is available in two sizes. It was very good. Service was prompt. Both exterior and interior are interesting. Outside dining is available. Parking is ample. There is a staircase that leads to the interior dining with well worn steps.

Today I gave it a try and felt that it was good in some areas and just ok in others. Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

We had a reservation for a celebratory dinner, and I commented to ask if the special would still be on for that date. The chef/owner responded immediately that it would. Knowing specials often run out quickly, I called on the morning of the reservation, and a hostess said, yes, the special was still on. So we got there, we ordered, and we asked for the special -- the waitress said she'd confirm, and then came back and just said 'no, it was just for that day,' which was confusing. I explained that the chef and the hostess had confirmed that it was still on the menu and asked if it had run out -- again, understandable -- and she said it 'was just something we made for an influencer.' At that point, I didn't want to press the two 'no' answers, so we finished the dinner and moved on. I reached out privately after the fact as I wanted to see if there was a better way I could have communicated to the restaurant or asked for clarification, and asked if there was a better way to confirm information moving forward, and they never responded. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back.

For the record: under the ADA (and Massachusetts law, which follows it), a business can ask exactly two questions -- is this a service animal required due to a disability, and what task is it trained to perform. That's it. No vest, no ID card, no paperwork required, full stop. I said as much, was met with attitude, stepped out to keep the peace, came back in with documentation anyway (which I didn't legally owe him), and got a passive-aggressive "well you could've shown me that at the beginning" -- followed by a genuinely bizarre stare-down over the counter. Charming. Then, while waiting on my order, I made the mistake of taking a video of the (admittedly cute) interior -- 100-year-old diner car, hard not to want a keepsake -- and got yelled at for filming, with a pointed accusation that my brother outside was "also filming," said like it was a crime. Meanwhile this place has an active social media presence built on customers doing exactly that. You can't crowdsource your Instagram content and then treat a phone camera like a weapon. Oh, and the hot dog itself: $5 for a boiled dog on white bread, no toasting, no char, nothing. A sad little snack to cap off a genuinely unpleasant interaction. The building has real history. The guy behind the counter does not deserve it.

The burger patty itself seemed like cheap meat... i don't know how to describe it, but cheap meat tastes like it's mixed with pork (even if that's probably not the case) it's just how I can describe the taste. I threw away 3/4 of the $12 burger. If I can't eat something, you know it's bad. On the plus side, the shake was good. But I had a little moo version which is a small and a fraction of the size of a shake at 5 guys for the same price. There's not a single thing that would bring me back here. I honestly wanted to love it. I walked in thinking I could get an awesome smash type burger but overall I would never go back. I'll stick with the other burger options. I hate to say that I would pick McDonald's over Mooyah.. after this experience. Five Guys blows this experience away. Also, the inside was so loud with screaming kids that I couldn't hear the cashier. Not the restaurants fault but also not an ideal dining experience. But maybe the food here caters to kids so it doesn't need to be great.
