Comfort by Design did a fantastic job with my water heater from start to finish. When I called, the receptionist was highly knowledgeable about scheduling and pricing, and she was quite willing to let me call other places since I was researching price and availability. I ended up sticking with Comfort by Design largely because the receptionist was not pushy, listened well to me, and had technicians available that day. I like hiring companies with whose employees listen to me and work with me to solve a problem, as opposed to pressuring me to choose them or to buy more than I'm comfortable with. My initial interaction with Comfort by Design met those criteria. A technician arrived within the time-frame I was quoted, and he had the part I thought was broken on my water heater. After diagnosing the issue, though, he discovered that there was at least one other broken/malfunctioning part that needed to be replaced. He showed me the problem and explained the process of replacing it. After discussing my options with the technician, I decided to replace the water heater. At no point did I feel pressured into making that decision. The best surprise of the day was that Comfort by Design was able to replace the water heater immediately. Another technician was available to immediately bring the water heater, and the two techs worked together to install the new one and remove the old one. They also carted the old one away. Before leaving, they patiently answered several other questions I had, and they explained and scheduled the necessary inspection of their installation. They did a great job respecting my property while moving the large water heaters, and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Finally, the cost was reasonable and about what I expected to pay. Custom by Design is definitely going to be the first place I call should I have any plumbing or HVAC (they also do HVAC!) needs in the future. read more

Samantha, from the office staff, was pleasant and efficient in setting up my appointment for an estimate with Scott Byrant, president / co-owner, who acted as my sales representative. Scott was very personable and easy to work with. He provided me with the information that I required in order to make a decision and offered me an excellent price on a top end unit. The removal and installation work began the very next day with Jeremy and Danielle arriving on site early in the morning. They were both hardworking, task-oriented, and respectful of my home. Jeremy kept me informed of their progress throughout the day. Jeremy ended up working until after 9 PM that night and was back at it the next morning at 7:30 to complete the installation and conduct the checkout of the unit with me. Just had a new Air Conditioner installed with Comfort by Design, and it was a fabulous experience. On the sales side, Scott was very friendly and easy to deal with. He didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff that I don't need and broke everything down for me exactly as I did need it. After the quote, that was the end of it. No additional charges after the fact, or any of that funny business that I've seen in the past. The installers, Mike and another gent who's name escapes me did a marvelous job! They got everything done very quickly and the result looks marvelous, even with the added challenge of having to route the connectors clear across my house and down to another floor to reach my furnace. Finally, their work passed inspection easily, lending more credence to the superior quality of their work. This is the best company I have ever dealt with. They were very attentive, quick to respond, and their price was more than fair for the work I needed to be completed. We are selling our home and needed our furnace inspected along with the water heater. I was very impressed with service Comfort By Design provided. From speaking with Joe the manager to scheduling with the Admin Samantha to the alert via text message and arrival of the technician. I have never had such fantastic service! The technician David V, explained everything he was doing and how all the operations of the furnace and water heater work and a heads up to watch for sounds in the water heater and call if needed. I cannot explain how amazing this company is. The OWNER came out to my house at 3 am for an emergency call to help rescue a family pet. My cat got stuck in the ventilation system and he not only helped come up with a plan to get her out but executed it with precision in a timely manner. He called in backup and a second employee was there in a jiffee with the tools to complete this job. We were able to locate her and safely get her out and back to freedom and treats! I again cannot thank the staff and Owners of this amazing business enough for what they did for me and my family today! We had Comfort By Design come out to do a furnace inspection after talking to them at a home show. The office called and scheduled the appointment right away and texted reminders of that appointment. The technician John that came to our home arrived on time, wore shoe booties while in the home and was very knowledgeable, answering any question we had. John performed a very thorough inspection of the furnace and gave us information and recommendations on services that could help our quality of life, since we suffer from allergies. We had an excellent experience with comfort by design. The quote was done in person by Scott Brian, one of the owners and it was fairly quick , cordial and priced reasonably well. Installation was done within two days notice after the quote and it took less than a day to make the installatiuple of weeks I'll make another review at the effectiveness of the mini split a/C unit tallsince the weather is very hot yet. What a terrific experience! When Scott came out to our house, he first assessed whether our current furnaces and a/c compressors, which we were planning on replacing, were sized correctly. Once this determination was made, he thoroughly explained all of our options, including the pros and cons for each option. His pricing was very competitive. The teams that came out to remove the old and install the new systems arrived on time, worked efficiently and effectively, and were extremely respectful of both our house/furnishing and us.
