Comfort Cover Systems installed a roof on my home in 2021, and the experience has been consistently disappointing. The installation quality was poor -- the perimeter of the roof was never bolted down (see attached photo). When Hurricane Ian hit a year later, the unfastened perimeter allowed the roof to lift. The repairs were not covered under their warranty. When I pointed out the missing fasteners, the employee inspecting the damage said, 'it was not engineered that way.' My response was simple: then it was engineered wrong. Now, WINK News in Fort Myers is reporting that many of the roofs they installed after Ian are turning black and require annual power washing. The company originally promised to wash those roofs three times but has not followed through. My roof -- installed 16 months before Ian -- also turns black and requires yearly power washing, so this is not limited to post‑Ian installations. In my experience, Comfort Cover Systems does not deliver quality workmanship, and they do not stand behind their work. Buyer beware. read more

Comfort Cover Systems installed a white membrane roof in May 2024 that is now asphalt gray. The CEO told us that this is a common problem in hundreds of homes that they installed in this area due to a chemical compound applied by the manufacturer, IB Roof Systems, starting in 2021. They have washed their hands of responsibility and directed us to the manufacturer, which refers to the problem as a "maintenance issue." There are 609 homes in our park with white membrane roof roofs abounding. Curiously it seems that just their roofs are the ones having this problem. In fact, they set up a cleaning company just to deal with this. The problem is that it's at the owner's expense and we were told it would be required every six months for at least three years and then once a year in perpetuity. read more

I would not recommend Comfort Cover systems! I have had two roofs put on my mobile unit. The first blew off during Irma and now have a second roof. Roof system and workmanship is good however their covering becomes covered in black mold. After several calls they did come out to clean it but the mold returned in 5 months. The salesman told me that would not happen with my 2nd roof but it has. Customer service is easy to contact and report problem however getting someone to come out and inspect required several calls. read more

We had a leak in an unknown location. I called Comfort Cover and they had an estimator out the next day Saturday. He said in would take about 30 days to get the permit. They were able to get it in three weeks and we schedule the repair. The installers were very professional and finished the job very quickly. I signed a contract on 06/01/2023. Gave a deposit of $1,000. Mr. Geoft Wright sales person told me the work will be done between 4-6 weeks. 90 days past. I called the office where Mr. Robert Mays junior stated they cannot install until 2023. I was transferred to Mr. Gary Smith MGR. He stated I will receive my deposit since it's null and void. Mr. Mays told me the check is on Rebecca Mays office for signing. No refund ever came. Apparently Comfort Covers System is calling people to get a deposit over the phone as some of my neighbors said to me. read more

We had a roof put on by CC a few years ago. A year or so later we noticed water running down the inside of the carport when it rained but couldn't find a leak. Finally during Hurricane Ian water started coming down from a light fixture in the kitchen ceiling and called a roofer who found that one of the light tubes that CC had installed was not sealed. The roofer sealed it with silicone and I called CC. No one answered the phone or returned my many messages and I thought they might have gone out of business. Finally after more than a week I called their supplier who got them to call me. They said Chris the service guy would be out but had no idea when and he wouldn't be calling me. Just supposed to wait for an indefinite period. I recommend staying away from this company because they can't service what they sell and a leaking roof leads to more damage - not a good situation after spending a lot of money on the roof. read more

Marlene L. I keep calling the company to get advise on how to clean my roof which is 3 years old. Every year that I have cleaned it, it has more dark spots that will not come off. I tried the tide and a soft brush but it does not remove the dark spots. I have asked for a company that they would recommend and still they have not returned my calls. I wish I had done better research before I had hired them. I do not know what will happen if a real problem occurs. The actual product and job was very good, but their costumer service is lacking. I was told the job was to be done on a certain week-- the week came and left no call.... They told me they would call the day before coming out. It would of been nice to receive a courtesy call to let me know plans changed and it would be another week out. After the job was completed I noticed an issue with the trim work, I call and was told they would send someone out to correct the problem... 3 week later no show .. I called again and was assured they would get to me, when ?????? I live in a community and I was trying to get them more work but not now. I would be embarrassed to recommend them. read more

I had damage to my home caused by the installation of the cover on my roof in July of 2016 and the company will not return my calls. I have had $2,000.00 in damages and losses and when I talk to Gary Smith ( which is 5 times so far) he always promises to get back with me and he doesn't. I had a roof installed in July of 2014. They did a fantastic job, came out a couple days after I signed the contract and got it done in 1 day. I had them add the foam sheet insulation to my roof and it made a huge difference in cooling the house. They cleaned up after their work, I didn't fine a scrap of anything after they left. Now after almost 5 years the roof is holding up great, even after the storms. I highly recommend. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! The sales force signed a contract with my mother, an elderly woman, and had her pay $4000 down on May 1. The roof is leaking inside the house, and several calls to them and they state that they are still booking February's owners. No roof in sight for my mother. Upon request to cancel the contract, the response is 25% cancellation fee. And, 'good luck' was the response to my comment about taking them to court for inability to deliver on the contract and elderly abuse. read more

The sales representative answered all the questions I had (even when I called on the weekends) and came by the property several times. The installers were friendly, polite and extremely efficient. Needed a roof over and wanted a company we could trust. We did our research and Comfort Cover has been in business for over 30 years and we could not find any negative comments or ratings through the BBB. The sales guy was great and explained that they would need 30 days to get the permits in place and gave us an estimated date for installation. When the date arrived, we called to confirm only to be told we would be delayed by 2 weeks. That's where we ran into problems. The first Comfort Cover representative we spoke to agreed to move our installation up to April 21st; however, when the 21st arrived, no installers. When we spoke with Comfort Cover on the 21st, the representative was rude, unwilling to provide a confirmed installation date regardless of the reasons I gave him for the need for a date we could rely on, and after 30 minutes had me so frustrated I asked to cancel the contract. This resulted in a discussion with a manager and a confirmed installation date. On a positive note, the installers arrived on the promised date and time and did a good job. The individual from Comfort Cover who stopped by following installation to ensure we were satisfied, told us he would bring our concerns to management. So far, we haven't heard back from Comfort Cover about our concerns. Cautionary note to anyone contracting with Comfort Cover, they can take the reservation but it may be difficult to get them to complete the reservation in the timeframe promised. read more
