The way I was treated by front desk when checking out she was very rude and seemed not to care about any questions you have didn't receive extra gauze or after care instructions for my tooth extraction and was told I'd be fine going back to work the very next day I've had other tooth extractions and was told to take at least 48 to 72 hours off work I don't know when they stopped having compassion for their patients this used to be such an amazing place and you felt heard but not anymore I will not be returning read more

Dr Holman was great! Came out and saw me in the lobby while I was waiting to see what I was having an issue with and I showed him. He instantly gave me my options based on what he saw without X ray. Ended up getting a molar extracted and he made the process painless!! I didn't even know he had pulled the tooth out until he said something! I will definitely use this location for all my dental needs as this one experience sold me on this place(even though dentist trips aren't fun) I appreciate the respect the staff had and how helpful they were! read more

My opinion of this dentist is a complete 180 degrees from my initial visits. This location does not have a dental hygienist so a dentist has to do the 6 month cleanings. The last two six month checkups and cleanings I've had, Dr. Michael Stoor did the cleanings himself, which was what I expected. The issue is that he only cleaned the bottom front teeth, approximately six teeth. I called him out on it, and he said that the rest of my teeth were clean and "didn't need cleaning." Now I know that I am fastidious about my home cleanings, but the 6 month cleaning by a professional is essential to good oral health. Recently, I visited this office again and had a different dentist and he cleaned all of my teeth. Looks like Dr. Stoor just doesn't like to do teeth cleanings, but I'm sure he enjoys getting paid for doing nothing! Shady behavior. read more

I am writing this review after a significant amount of time going to this location. Let me explain. Since 2015 I have been going to this location for Comfort Dental. A friend told me at that time that there was a good dentist there. There was one, Dr Matthew Phillips. That is why I patronized the place for my dental needs. That is also why I recommended this place to my wife when she needed a new crown and implant. Dr Phillips was good. His colleagues, Dr Stoor, and Dr Parker, at that time were equally good. Recently, my wife needed a filling fixed, as it had fallen out. She went to this location for her appointment. She finds out that neither Dr Phillips, nor Dr Parker, are working there anymore. Her appointment was with Dr Heng. She had the work done by Dr Heng. Either there is a communication issue, lack of experience issue, or simply he does not care. She has been having problems with Dr Heng. He addressed a minor issue with one of my wife's cavities on a Friday (putting a filling). On Saturday evening that very same filling fell out. She went back and had Dr Heng look at it, and he told her that the filling is still there, and not fallen out....just the part of some glue or prep for it that is no longer there. Anyway, my wife still kind of can feel a "hole" there like something is missing. It is because of this, that she is now looking for a new dentist. Dr Heng and my wife do not mix. I will also say that this has made me think about changing dentists also. I never had any major dental issues. Just a standard cleaning. I am seriously considering changing dentists. Bottom line, when they lost Dr Phillips, and Dr Parker, they lost a lot of good expertise, and good dentists. My review would be more positive if Dr Phillips or Dr Parker were still practicing at this location. Please "kick Dr Heng out!" After my wife's horror stories, I am not letting that guy touch my teeth!!! read more

Let me start by saying, most people dread having to visit the dentist and this place is the reason why. I moved to the East Valley approx 3 years ago and haven't visited a dentist since, after the family dentist we had been going to regularly had retired. I ended up having a dental emergency in the middle of the night with a tooth that I had originally had bonded about a decade ago (originally costing me $400) and frantically called about a dozen different dental offices and left messages in the middle of the night to try and get an appointment first thing in the morning. The following morning, Comfort Dental was the first office to return my call.... Good sign, right?! No... not quite. The lady at the front desk who called me was very pleasant. She was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She even made me feel comfortable and welcomed when I showed up in person at the office for my appointment. I then was taken back to sit in the chair and have digital X-rays done of my teeth to evaluate the damage. I explained to Dr. Stoor my situation and let him know that I had been a regular client of my previous dentist but since his retirement, hadn't been seen. He immediately responded with..."Oh wow, 3 years without any care... hmmm" That should have been my first sign to leave. I am religious about taking care of my mouth and brush and floss regularly. Dr. Stoor then stepped away and his dental assistant then came in and we had a very pleasant conversation about our children - he too made me feel welcomed. After about 10 mins, Dr. Stoor returned and started by saying "Well, I wish I had good news to give you... but I don't!" Then proceeded to tell me my only option to fix my chipped tooth was a root canal which was quoted at a hefty $1,600. I asked him why the tooth couldn't be bonded like previously, since I have NO pain and had been just fine with a bonded tooth for the past 10 years, he explained that that wasn't an option and would only be able to fix my issue with the root canal. I then told him, I would like to go see if I could get a 2nd opinion, which he was encouraging of. I left and called back another office, which was a "family dentist" instead of a franchised office. That office also saw me almost immediately, did an exam, explained the damage in great detail and gave me many options to achieve the results I wanted. End of story, I walked away from the family dental office paying less than $300 and with a giant smile of pearly whites on my face. read more

I called yesterday because I had pain in the upper tooth in the back..Got in today (next day) saw Dr Stoor. They x rayed it and pulled the tooth out. I didn't even know he had pulled it out..Great dentist I would highly recommend him..I had to drive a little ways but OMG it was well worth the trip. Gentle Dental is not recommend they over charge and you have to come back later. read more

I would not trust the five star reviews listed below. I went here because I was in excruciating pain. The dentist here was so impersonal as well as the staff. I paid them for a check up and they didn't even check my whole mouth, just the teeth that I said were in pain. A molar and a wisdom tooth, were infected and I was told they needed to be removed, with out any explanation. So I asked if there were any other options, and a staff member immediately got defensive, and basically told me,"if you don't want the work done, then you can just find another dentist," needless to say I was insulted. I went through with the work, because I had already invested in a checkup, half ass as it was. A few days later I had the removal done, but the drugs they put me on worn off ten minutes after it was all done, they gave me a prescription that took an hour to fill. I was in unbelievable pain for almost three hours, I could not drive nor function, and had to be escorted by a family member, because I was in so much pain from the surgery I was actually crying. It was extremely embarrassing to wait and fill a prescription, while consumed by the madness of pain induced migraines. Do not bring your business here, I'd rather see this place closed down. read more

After my fiasco with Gentle Dental I made some phone calls and Comfort Dental said they could get me in Monday thinking I was going to get my tooth pulled only to find out it was still infected which I already kind of knew because of the pain I was in they only charged me $19 for the visit and will remove the tooth today for $100 very upfront very nice they even sent me a note appreciating me for coming to them they were awesome. They gave me more antibiotics and some pain medication. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my daughter here for a toothache because I couldn't get her into her normal dentist. We go 1 week ago, they do exams and say she needs a filling and schedule her today. While we are waiting, 3 walk-ins come in. Usually that isn't an issue but it becomes an issue. We go back, I inform them that she autistic, ADHD, and has anxiety ( I put this information in her patient forms when I filled them out) so she will need laughing gas. Only one person could go back with her and she chooses my brother in law so I go wait in the waiting room. He comes out after 15 minutes or so and says she wants me back there. She is hooked up to the laughing gas but come to find out, she freaked out on the dentist because he just came in, had her open her mouth and tried to numb her all without giving her any of the laughing gas I told them she'd need. We sit there for about 40 minutes and the assistant comes in and says we will have to reschedule. I ask why and she said she'll get the dentist. Then she says that maybe the dentist can give her something to take before the appointment to calm down. He comes in and I ask why we have to reschedule, he says "I don't have time." He just took in 3 walk-ins and didn't "have time" for my daughter who had an appointment. I asked if we could get something to help her relax for the next appointment and he said "no, she can take benedryl." I was in complete shock. Benedryl will not help her relax. While I was in the in the waiting room, 2 of his appointments had to reschedule too. I really hope that they aren't billing our insurance because HE had to reschedule. After the appointment, I find out from my brother in law and my daughter that he told her that she shouldn't need any laughing gas. Yes, my daughter can pass as an adult but I know adults who need it. Why should it have even been an issue?!? He also just walked in and didn't even introduce himself to her. He walked in, sat down then told her to open her mouth. Once it was apparent that she needed laughing gas, he tossed the tools down on the table and just walked out. I will say that the office staff and assistants are nice but the dentist is HORRIBLE. 1 Star is too much. Edit: I'd like to add that they billed the insurance as a cleaning when they dud absolutely nothing which is fraud. read more

I scheduled an appointment for cleaning. Arrived on time. No one greeted me or checked the sign in sheet. Left me waiting for 1 hour and 10 min. and were still unaware that I had signed in and was waiting when I asked how much longer it would be. If the office disrespects patients in the waiting area, how can patients be sure the dentist and assistant will take good care of them. The front desk sets the atmosphere for the whole visit. Scam artist! I have been with the same dentist for 20+ years but gave this office a shot since it was closer to my home. My husband and I both went in for a cleaning. They did x-rays and a "cleaning". The cleaning was a joke. They spent not even 10 minutes doing a cleaning claiming we had not plaque. This was the first lie. Then the dentist came in to go over my x-rays which he never showed me. He told both my husband and I we each had two cavities. This is the 2nd lie. I just went back to my old dentist for anther cleaning and 2nd opinion and to my surprise no cavities!! My dentist took a good 45 minutes cleaning my teeth. Went in for an exam/consultation and a follow up appointment for an inflamed gum that I initially stated. Then took xrays, with a very nice dental assistant. Told the doctor before xrays and after it was my gums and maybe a minor cavity he looked at the xrays told me that the area was minor and I repeated with My first concern that brought me in, my gums; and he looked confused not sure of what I just mention! Went to the receptionist for a receipt and next appointment was seated with a girl who was shaking and looked obviously aggravated! I politely asked for a receipt was told "well I would have to type it in" and she then talked down as if I was a child. Just wished I was told more about the gold plan. Later did I see there was a monthly charge. The doctor said she would go over it all! So I assumed that is what she was going to do. seeing she was aggravated I did not get a receipt. I told the girl Jenson, you really have a bad attitude and she didn't apologize just angrily stared at her computer. Called back to ask if there is a closer location and that I didn't get a receipt if one could be emailed. Put on hold the doctor answered and immediately states without hearing my 1st question! Of is there a closer location and can I have documents emailed. Dr. Phillips states; "I don't think this is gonna work out if you don't like my staff." Excuse me your staff are "stellar" just brought it to her attention that she could be more kind! Then he says "well I would still like to treat you!" All I wanted was a receipt. The doctor refused to see that a patient was treated rudely and not given the right paperwork, for that I would not go there! He should of heard the very first thing I asked about the location and been there to see it! I wouldn't make being treated rudely up!!! I only write good reviews and it saddens me to not get treatment due to a disgruntle receptionist. Dr. Phillips should of heard/seen the attitude before answering and took the time to apologize for not letting me know she wasn't the treatment coordinator. Communication is key and none was given except negative behavior and BAD customer service. Comfort Dental corporations should read these reviews and see the only "good" ones are from people who only have one review, this location being it where as other honest reviews are of people with real reviews from all over read more

They were friendly the first visit I had an emergency and had to have a tooth pulled that had got infected. Then the second visit to have to tooth pulled and discuss what we wanted to do they were very pushy with getting their dental insurance which I could not afford. they are nice dentists just very quick and don't speak much to the pacient. read more

Let me say this. I am 41 and I have THE WORST dental anxiety ever. I mean full on trembling and all that. I was super nervous to have an extraction done. Dr. Stoor is hands down AMAZING! He helped me relax and literally, 2 minutes after he started he said "ok all done'. I made a follow up appointment to have him do a check up and determine how much work I may need on other teeth. I have to say I have been to a lot of dentist and Dr. Rennaker is the best. I got a implant done and he was so gentle and kind, always making sure I was ok. He even called me on Monday to make sure I was doing ok. They have the best prices in town for implants. The staff is also very nice. read more

The doctor took me for $175.00 for cleaning and tooth pulled but told me it was $100.00 for him to do this! Plus doctor wouldn't return my two calls and u went in only for them to return 115.00 out if my $315.00. They took so be aware. I also have osteoporosis and when he pulled my tooth I thought he was gonna break my jaw, then two of my teeth aren't cleaned and when they did x-rays said I had to take my rings off for this to be done, when I said never heard this before the girl went to ask doctor and he said no just earrings. This place is a joke and also a man that was in something came in to get work done and they said don't take your insurance so he called 911 and I they told emergency people they don't take his insurance was scared this guy was gonna do something by the way he was acting and they thought it was funny. I recently went into Comfort Dental so that I could get some answers from another dentist had told me about these issues that had arose. Now, I don't know much about teeth, I am NO DENTIST, but I was treated so poorly by Dr. Phillip, as soon as he came into the office he saw who I was and instantly asked me, "What can I do you for, now?" Well I had only asked him if and to see my XRAYS, because I was told that the tooth he had recently worked on in July of 2015 the root canal inside was failing, now I do know your supposed to have it caped, BUT I AM NOT MADE OF MONEY, so I had to wait. He didn't like that the other dentist told me what he did so he started to get huffy and upset. ACCUSING ME of wanting something, HE WOULD NOT STOP, he is like "You came in here looking for something." ALL I WANTED WAS ANSWERS. THEN HE SINGLED me out and made me look like a fucking idiot. I dont know anything about teeth so am I suppose to put a 100% into all this NO I WILL NOT, because every dentist or doctor says SOMETHING different who am I suppose to trust? After that terrible experience I suggest you do NOT go there, the doctor there is nothing but rude, and only accuses you of something. My review is long overdue. I started seeing Dr Stoor when I moved here from Denver a few yrs ago. I followed him from another Comfort Dental to this one. I had full dental extractions due to peridontal disease followed by full dentures and later, implants. He is the absolute best. I previously had been followed by my cousin who was a dentist out of state. I have a very low pain thresh hold as I really have not ever had pain. After having the lower extractions and a new lower denture, it was the most awful excrutiating pain that I have ever had in my life. As a retired RN, I thought of all of those patients I have had who had dentures and could not imagine them all going through this awful pain. I wanted to die! I did get pain medication, but no where near enough when I had the lower done. I realize that all Dr's are watched carefully for prescribing pain meds due to all of the people addicted to those meds. The rest of us must suffer through no fault of the Dr. I love Dr Stoor. He is so personable, professional, concerned and just fun! I always look forward to seeing him. His staff is also wonderful. My brother-in-law who recently moved from Denver visited another Dentist today and was not happy. He will be visiting Dr Stoor for his next visit. worst experience ever at a dentist. after waiting for almost 2 hours despite having a scheduled appointment dr phillips came to see me and was rude and hurtful. I had a tooth break a few days ago and wanted to get it fix he informed me I would need to get the tooth pulled which I was ok with but wanted it replace with something as it would be visible. I do have allergies to metals which make things more complicated. I asked Dr Phillips the names of the part so I could look up the metal purity he wouldn't give me the names of the parts I asked what could be done and his response was "not get a cavity in the first place". I didn't choose to get a cavity if I had know I would have gotten it taken care of sooner. I just wanted the names of the parts or procedures that could be done so I could see if my allergies would allow it. He refused to help at all and got very mean and disrespectful. read more

I went to this Comfort Dental location a year and a half ago for a cleaning, I also had a couple cavities that required fillings. The dentist I saw actually ended up drilling the wrong tooth and cracked it. Then he tried to cover the crack with fill material. I went back 24 hours later with a pretty bad infection. As a result, I was told that I would now require a root canal and a crown. I ended up being held hostage, so to speak, because I was in excruciating pain and needed to get my tooth fixed... I asked for them to just pull the tooth because I couldn't afford the $1000 that the root canal and crown we're going to cost me... They insisted that I should just get the root canal and crown and apply for Care Credit. I relented and they started the process. The office staff were unprofessional and inefficient at every encounter. After the whole process was complete I was told it would take several weeks for my crown to "settle"... It never "settled"... I have always had pain and sensitivity. The dentist who did the work said I may need to have the tooth next to it root canals and crowned as well. Yeah, that was out of the question. After the fact I asked for copies of my records and when I finally got them almost a month later I submitted them, along with a charge dispute, to Care Credit. Care Credit, along with my insurance company, determined that the dentist was at fault and I was not financially responsible for the root canal and crown. I was refunded by my credit card company and the dr had to pay me and the credit card company back. Let's fast forward to last week. I woke up in excruciating pain at 3:30 am last Monday under the crown and in the surrounding area. I called a different dental office and was seen the same day. As it turns out, the original root canal Comfort Dental did wasn't done properly (big surprise there) and I required dental surgery to correct Comfort Dental's shoddy work, yet again. It was recommended that I have the crown removed and an extraction performed. Upon completion of the extraction, my new dentist showed me the root he removed and the large abscess attached to the root that was supposedly already canalled by Comfort Dental's dentist. I wish there was a way to recoup my loss of income as well as my financial costs for the new dentist to correct what Comfort Dental messed up in the first place. Do NOT go to this place! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! read more
