Shout out to the office ladies - Nikki especially was so helpful and an absolute joy to talk to!! I had an appointment today but was trying to see if my partner could take my appointment due to him randomly experiencing mouth pain. I called them morning of the appointment and they were so understanding and actually able to squeeze both of us in! They were incredibly helpful with figuring out insurance, explaining costs and options, and overall just really supportive for us young things trying to navigate healthcare. Dr. Shaffer, and the hygienist, Gulnaz, were equally kind and helpful! I didn't feel shamed for not having seen a dentist in a couple years- they were understanding and explained my diagnosis clearly and helped me with next steps. This was huge for me as someone who struggles health anxiety. They live up to their name in both practice and attitude -- Gentle Dental is who I will be recommending to all my friends next time someone is looking for a dentists. This was my third visit, and the experience was bad enough that I walked out of the appointment. The dentist was rude and condescending every time I saw him. On my first visit, he made unnecessary comments about my age and brushing habits. On this visit, he refused to do two caps because he didn't want to numb both sides, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. I can tolerate some disorganization, but this office felt completely unprepared. No one seemed to know what was going on, and the lack of coordination made the appointment uncomfortable and frustrating. As I walked out, the dentist actually laughed, which was the final straw. I and my son used Gental Dental crossroads in 2023 for routine teeth cleaning. I have no complains about the cleaning nor the dentists. but the billing has been a total nightmare. After months of calls, messages, email, I finally got it all cleared up with the office and paid my portion over the phone on 8/13/2024. I was told by the staff that my account would be closed and I don't owe anything. I should stop receiving mails. however, I still keep getting letters and text messages from their billing department a year after. I have documented everything. I've been coming to this location for years. Also been bringing my kids here for years, every 6 months for their appointments. Overall, the experience has been great! But within the last year, there have now been 3 instances where the office has canceled our appts and needed to change them--1 for myself and 2 for my kids. 2 times they gave hardly any notice and 1 time they gave me 2 weeks notice, which is good. But....the next available appt they could offer me with the times I originally asked for, was OVER A MONTH out. I get things happen with staff. However our schedules as parents also fill up too and having to change appts, causes a disruption in our family schedules as well. I wouldn't be so irritated if this hasn't happened 3 times now to us. Plus my daughter's mouth is bothering her and now we have to wait 7 weeks when it was only 2 weeks out. read more

We have seen many dentists and didn't care for a lot of them, but then found this one and we love this office and the staff. They are always very flexible and our kids absolutely love them. Back again, Still having issues with this place and wanted to add some more things I heard. This place is full of scammy dentists and an unorganized/unethical payment office. I have encountered dentists that lie about amount of cavities. They've told myself and multiple other people that we have gingivitis and need to buy their overpriced products when we don't. They're trying to scare us into over paying and it is disgusting. I pay everything up front or have had to set up monthly payments with them. Their system for monthly payments are extremely unorganized. I'm still getting calls and threats about them sending my case to collections even though I have already paid everything off... 4 years ago, which was confirmed to have been paid off 4 year ago. This has happened multiple times and then I get my money back when they do an audit. I'm f***ing tired of this game?? What is wrong with this business? Why am I getting calls starting today about something I paid off 4 years ago?? Insane. Be warned. I have not met a single real person that has had a good experience with this place. They stole so much of my money because 4 years ago I was naive and trusted their nonsense. I'm pretty sure these good reviews are not real. I've also heard from others and experienced that they will physically harm clients to make them think there is something wrong with their teeth when there isn't. 0 stars. I was with them a year and a half. What went right? 1. Cleaning appointments over 1/2 hour or more. Twice I had to reschedule 2. I signed saying how much they thought treatment was . It was always more. 3. I was going on vacation to Africa. I was having a tooth problem. They couldn't find anything. It was infected I was gone 2 weeks with it bleeding 4. So many appts rescheduled from there end, that my treatment plan put me into the next year and I had to pay my deductible again at the last appointment. 5. They are corporate. And it feels that way. I would give this dental office negative stars if I could. I recently went to this office for the first time to get x-rays and a maintenance cleaning that were fully covered by my new insurance. Following a quick exam, they recommended a deep cleaning for $581 as they were "so concerned about my dental health". I thanked them for their recommendation but said for now I just want my free maintenance cleaning. The dentist then refused to do the maintenance cleaning saying "it was against company policy". Clearly their professed "concern about my dental health" went out the window when I wouldn't fork over the big bucks. I'd hate to think that dentistry has descended to the level of a used car lot, but apparently, at least at this office, it has. read more

my experience here was normal until there was a miscommunication between my insurance provider and this office. I somehow ended up receiving checks from my insurance company that were supposed to end up at the dental office. I brought this to the attention of the branch both times that this occurred and was told that I do not need to give them the checks and that my account was up to date. Here i am a year later hearing from the office that i do indeed need to pay them for the checks that they told me i did not need to pay them. Upon calling the branch to discuss this i was constantly interrupted mid sentence and told that this is essentially my problem and to deal with it. If you want to end up with a headache and being a confused middleman between your dental office and your insurance company then I definitely would recommend this location. Gentle Dental at Gilbert and Guadalupe has been my dental clinic for my dental needs. As of late their dental practice has fallen to an unsatisfactory rating. Within the past 3 years I have had 2 of their crowns break while eating. Eight months ago my crown broke in half while eating. This crown has been placed almost 12 months prior to the breaking. That crown was replaced free of charge by Dr Shannon as a re- do. On Friday, 05/22/20 another crown broke while eating a hotdog. That crown had been placed approx 3 years ago. I attempted to see a dentist the following day but was unsuccessful as the offices were closed until today due to the Memorial weekend. The answering service attempted to contact an on call dental doctor but to no avail. I was told by Oscar, the answering service, he would continue to attempt to contact the on call dentist to contact me. Oscar informed me he was finally able to contact Dr Lee who would be calling me, but I never received a call. Today 5/26/20 I went to the office in Gilbert and Dr Lee saw me. To my surprise I was told the defective crown would be replaced but I would have to pay for a new crown. This is the second crown that has broken. I asked Dr Lee if the maker of their crowns is using substandard materials and possibly poor craftsmanship as now two crowns have now broken in less than one year. This is not normal and I demanded the crown should be replaced at their cost due to defective crowns. I was informed corporate would need to approve it. This is not acceptable. The crowns they provided should be guaranteed and replaced at NO cost. I am going to wait corporates response on making me whole. This is an unsatisfactory dental practice. Went here for braces for my daughter. They were not up front about the fact that there is only one available day per month for orthodontics appointments. If you cant make that appt. you cant go to another location. My daughter had a bracket that came off X 2 months and we couldnt get anyone to look at it. The front desk made us an appt at another location, got out of school and once we showed up they refused to see us because we were not a patient at that other location. Of course we had already paid in full for the treatment and now we cannot get our money back. The orthodontist is actually great but the business is very poorly run. She forced an examination saying i couldn't clean my teeth unless the doc examines my teeth.. so i did the examination, cleaned my teeth. Why did i com here? You may ask.. my regular hygienist is out of town so i figure "let me try this location, it's closer to my house" wrong bargain! And then on the way out, the MA asked me if i was going to make my next appointment in front of everyone, F**k NO!! I'm not coming back!! My husband tells me i'm too polite and normally, I would have said yes and cancel it later but i was just so annoyed that I couldn't say yes!! I see all the "1 Star" ratings and from what I understand, the past dentists here have been less than professional. Well, let me tell you, "There's a new Dentist in town" at this location. Let me start with the reception staff, super friendly and up front with all the paper work and can answer any questions. I strongly suggest that you double check with your insurance provider before you go. It can depend on the dentist, not necessarily the facility that is covered or not. Lisa is the dental assistant that will take you to the back and has you smiling right away. She is good at taking those x-rays and if you have Torus, hard bump on the roof of your mouth, she will give you the part for the x-ray that goes in your mouth that won't irritate those. Now about Dr. Brightman, the dentist. She is so good and proficient I followed her from Portland, Or. Actually, we both happen to move to Gilbert and when I knew she was going to be near me, had to make sure she was going to take care of my dental needs. She does a neck and jaw exam before she even starts on the teeth. She will tell you and recommend treatment for ONLY what truly needs to be done. She is super friendly but professional and even hums a tune or 2 with the piped in music. And, the sometimes needed shots...barely feel them at all. I don't have to white-knuckle the chair at all.. So, to the 1 Star reviewers, if you haven't been to this facility lately I highly recommend that you check it out again. read more

I can't say enough about this office! Bonnie, the Practice Manager, went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of financially. Hailey at the front desk was super friendly and explained things clearly when my son had his wisdom teeth out. I also had my teeth cleaned.
