I have been a loyal patient at Comfort Dental for several years, and I've always praised the compassionate care provided by Dr. Ryan and his wonderful staff. Dr. Ryan is, without a doubt, the best dentist I've ever encountered. His kindness, compassion, and remarkable ability to calm my anxiety about dental procedures make every visit comfortable. However, my recent experience has left me reconsidering my loyalty. During my last visit, I encountered a receptionist with red and black hair, I think I heard someone call her Julia, whose demeanor was shockingly at odds with the warmth I've come to know from this office. I had a wisdom tooth causing me significant pain and I had specifically requested an appointment with Dr. Ryan. I was scheduled for an appointment nearly 36 hours later, which I accepted as I wanted to see only the dentist I trust. Upon my arrival, I was extremely disheartened to learn from Julia that Dr. Ryan was not in that day. When I expressed my disappointment regarding the lack of communication about my appointment, her response was cold and dismissive. Her utter lack of empathy was palpable and it was clear that my pain and trust in the practice meant absolutely nothing to her. She bluntly told me to either see the doctor on duty or leave. Reluctantly, I opted to see Dr. Adams, who, while trying to provide care, did not meet the high standards I've come to expect from Comfort Dental. His demeanor suggested he was more interested in clocking out for the weekend than genuinely helping me. His suggestion to endure my pain until another dentist could assist me was unsatisfactory. He prescribed ibuprofen and Orajel, which did nothing to alleviate my suffering. Dr. Ryan has repeatedly assured me he could remove my wisdom teeth quickly and comfortably; however, Dr. Adams's response was dismissive, sharing his own regret about undergoing the procedure without sedation. I made it clear that I couldn't endure the pain I was in over the weekend, but he insisted the medication would help, which it did not. The weekend turned out to be one of the most painful experiences of my life. After six excruciating days, I finally got care elsewhere and had my wisdom teeth removed by a surgeon I had previously been referred to by Dr. Ryan. Had Comfort Dental communicated properly when I initially called to see Dr. Ryan, I could have avoided the unnecessary wait and gone straight to the referral surgeon sooner. Instead, they prolonged my suffering and provided extremely inadequate care in the process. I do want to express my gratitude to the technician, who I believe was named Than, for his kindness during this ordeal. He was the only staff member that day who made me feel like I mattered. In conclusion, while Dr. Ryan and some team members deliver outstanding care, the disorganization at the front desk, Julia's extremely unwelcoming demeanor, and Dr. Adams's lack of effective treatment have significantly tarnished my previously stellar opinion of this practice. It is unacceptable for dental professionals to show such disregard for a patient's pain and suffering. If you're fortunate enough to see Dr. Ryan, you're in extremely capable hands, but beware of some less effective staff members. read more

They either hate their jobs or each other or both.I didn't see a dentist; because of the way I was treated I left after finishing the new patient paperwork. My name is Brittany Powers. I Just spoke to an extreme rude women named Jenna who had the most condescending and rude attitude I've ever encountered. She refused to give me the name of the office manager to complain just said she comes in once a week. She actually scoffed at me twice on the phone. I sat on the phone for almost an hour earlier this week establishing my two kids who adventure dental sent big files over for. The girl earlier in the week told me she would create new files for my kids so we would have to deal with any issues as I had cancellations over 6 years ago when we were out of state. Worst customer service I've ever encountered. Office manager please pull the call from 9/10 at 4:24 pm. Your employee needs to be fired! Edited 9/11/24: Spoke with Dentist at the office who apologized for Jenna's behavior but asked me to remove review. I advised I will not do so because people need to know honest reviews of the businesses they are dealing with and who represents their companies. He advised me that he vouches for Jenna and she likely was having a bad day and this is a one off. I advised if I had a better experience with them I would remove it. I received a call that my family was dismissed from the office this morning lol - I'm assuming because of my reviews and honesty. Read all reviews - this office has issues. Dr Ryan and Dr Young are the absolute best dentists I have ever been to. I have had bad teeth for as long as I can remember, I lost several during and after pregnancy and needed new teeth. They got me in promptly for my extractions and I had the snap in over dentures done. the process was very streamline and i couldn't be happier with the results and care I have gotten from them both through the entire process. plus they are the most affordable option in my opinion! highest recommendation! All the doctors and dental assistants here are fantastic, super knowledgeable, friendly, and will work with you. They really do great work here. As much as I wish I could keep seeing the dentist (still my fave) and the office folks at Calabasas Smiles, I needed to get one closer to home. My husband told me about his experience with Dr. Adams and it sounded like I might've found my local dentist. Everyone I encountered was kind, all my questions were answered. The front office gal was a peach, and invited me to rate the office if I found I had a good experience. She said they pride themselves on providing a good experience for their clients. The dentist was encouraging regarding my dental hygiene habits (something that is challenging for me to keep) and gave me a report similar to my dentist in CA, as opposed to $1000+ work another dentist in town quoted me. Also, instead of charging me for a new mouthguard he told me I could keep the one that had a piece broken off, he also offered to smooth any edges to make it more comfortable to wear. And he didn't make fun of my short teeth! My records hadn't fully transferred to this office so I got to appreciate the beautiful view of the Rockies I saw from my dental seat a little longer. A seat you could likely request. Even if I don't get the seat with a view, I will still go back to Dr. Adams. I'll miss the folks in Calabasas, but I'm glad to have found a great group at this Comfort Dental. read more

Had a terrible and painful experience here. It's the dentist's job to know in advance what will hurt and what won't hurt. They're supposed to be the "experts" and they spent forever taking painful x-rays, so they should know in advance what areas to numb, instead of deciding after your screams of agony that they didn't numb everywhere they should have. I have paid for multiple fillings and deep cleanings only to have another dentist tell me that the "deep cleaning" detached my gums and has now caused multiple cavities below the gum line. I have genetic dental issues as well as additional problems due to medications which cause dry mouth and was actually referred to as a "meth addict" by him. When did dentists drop to the level of slimy car salesmen that say one thing then do another?? Husband needed a root canal. Went to Firestone Comfort Dental because it's a mile from our house. Original visit was great, the dentist relieved immediate pain and prescribed antibiotics. Even with our insurance, a root canal is $600 out of pocket. The dentist says don't worry, we take payments. I paid half of the $600 upfront. Dentist completes root canal and when finished husband is in so much pain he can hardly talk or focus - this is not acceptable. No patient should leave a dentist office in that much pain. Today, 10 days later, we go back for the permanent crown. Receptionist says they won't do any work without the other $300. I said, wait, the dentist said we can make payments and I paid you $300 less than two weeks ago. She snarkily says you have to pay or the work won't be done and "I'm just doing my job". So basically they are holding the crown hostage unless everything is paid upfront even though the initial agreement was for payments. And to be clear, we do not owe them for any other work so it's not like we are behind on payments. We left and will return to our old dentist even though it's a 45 minute drive and will probably cost us a ton to have him start the permanent crown again but regardless, Firestone Comfort Dental won't get another penny from me. Nor will they have our future business that could have been substantial given my husband needs a lot of work. read more

Dr. Jarom John is a miracle worker and a skilled artist. I could not be more pleased with the work he's done and the results that make me proud to smile again. His work so far: 3 extractions in one visit, 4 fillings, complete deep cleaning, and a crown. In January, when my insurance renews, I'm going back for a lower gum partial denture. I just moved to the area so today was my first experience at the Comfort Dental in Firestone and I was even better than my experiences at other offices. Dr. Adam and his dental assistant were really nice and very thorough with my cleaning. And I am not sure if it is just this office, or maybe all Comfort Dental offices, but this office had more advanced technologies when they did my x-rays and cleaning.
