Every experience over the last 5 years I have had with every member of the staff administrative and medical has been fantastic. They are a more affordable option to personal dentistry but there is no lapse in care, empathy or professionalism due to that fact. Billing is always straight forward. They keep in mind that not everyone can afford every procedure at once and I have never felt pressure to have work done that I didn't need. This was one of the worse visits ever! So many things happened but to narrow it down to a few......they drilled the outter side of my cheek, cutting my cheek on the outside of my face, they had to redo the filling twice because the equipment wasn't working right, the lady suction cup the side of my cheek on the outside of my face, making it impossible for me to open my mouth, I have TMJ and they kept telling me to open my mouth wider and I could not do it and my tongue was in the way a lot, kept yelling at me to move my tongue when I cannot feel it! by the time I left, my numbing was completely gone. That's how long I was in there trying to get one filling. Giving me a hard time because I could not afford a a root canal so I chose a filling and they were not happy about it. I have gone to five dentist appts since then to try and have them fixed because the pain I feel when eating thanks to them. The women that work reception are amazing & The dentist are top notch. they make you feel so comfortable and are so respectful I've been coming here to this location, since I was a Youngin, & my kids were young as well my oldest 24 & still coming, & if they cannot meet your needs with your children's teeth, they will recommend you to another Children's dental clinics depends on your insurance but they try to get back to you as soon as possible they say a week but it's never a week. I made an appointment with Comfort Dental to have a couple teeth fixed. The first day was a consultation and the dentist said if I needed any Valium to let him know before my appointment and he would call it in. He said that I would need a driver. Then he said I could use laughing gas but it's $60. I declined both. I've never had a dentist offer me drugs just for a cavity fix, but after what had happened I should have requested it. The day of my appointment I told him that he needed to numb me up really good. He started giving me the Novocain and I immediately got freaked out because he was pushing it in my mouth so hard. I started to shake and cry. I was gently kicking my chair because it was so uncomfortable, the dentist used a mean tone and told me to stop kicking the chair. I was holding my breath so I wouldn't cry more. My eyes were filled with tears. He started to work on my tooth but I could still feel the pain so he had to give me more Novocain. He seemed really upset because I could still feel it. After I was numb he returned and started doing the work. My mouth was opened for an hour. After he was done he never showed me what he did like my other dentist did. I asked him if he had fixed the cracked tooth and he said I have put out a request for a crown and I'll be in touch. That was it. I never received a call the next day asking me how I'm feeling. I was in pain after the Novocain wore off. My jaw hurt, my throat and my tooth. It didn't hurt before I went in. My body was still shaking. I called the office at 7:50am and I told the receptionist that I was in pain and she said the dentist was out till Friday so I had to wait. I said can the other dentist call me? She said she's busy with other patients but will call back. 3 hours later I called them back asking why I haven't received a call yet. She said she would call me. Well I finally called again around 2 pm asking to speak to a manager but the office lady asked me what's wrong so I told her. I told her that I was going to report them if I didn't get a call back. She said we can get you in today at 4, and I said I do not want anyone messing with my tooth today since I'm in pain and what happened yesterday. I said please have the dentist call me right away and if not I will report to the board. I woke up the next day and seen the other dentist had called at 7:45 pm and left a message asking me if I had any allergies and to give her a call back. Well I called them back and told them to remove me from the books. I said I will not be back. Yes, the pain is much better now but I had an entire night/day with severe pain and anxiety. I'm looking forward to seeing my original dentist up north. He is gentle and very informative about what he's going to do and what he's done. I will take the long drive to him. I highly recommend not going to this comfort dental unless you enjoy being treated horribly. read more

My experience with Dr. Kim. Not even joking a little. I went to her to get a root canal done which failed and resulted in a tooth infection twice. I went back to her for the infection the first time, and they prescribed me pain medications and gave me a referral to a specialists that is in the same network as her. That specialist quoted me $1,650 to fix the failed root canal. I couldn't afford it so I took the pain medications and tried to ignore the pain. I then went back to her yesterday for the second infection on the exact same tooth. She then proceeded to do the same thing as the first time by giving me more pain pills and a reference to pay out of pocket to get it fixed by a different specialist elsewhere. Aside from horrendous customer service from the actual dentist (who gave me 7 shots of novocaine and when it didn't work, she bluntly told me to either deal with it or leave) she did several fillings that I found out yesterday were improperly done and fitted. An ACTUAL dentist professional showed me photos of the work and how ill fitted it was. It will cost me 2400 dollars to fix the mess this idiot created at Comfort Dental. Dr. Lavato is an amazing dentist. We have been going to her exclusively for the last 10 years. She doesn't just specialize in dentistry. She specializes in people too. She takes the time to understand her clients and their individual needs. My son has special needs, and she is the only person he will let near him. Even though she has assistants to help, she takes care of him herself. My husband had a bleeding disorder. She works closely with his PCP when he needs any work done. He is also terrified of dentists, but she takes her time with him until he is ready to begin. They have done everything for us from cleanings, chipped teeth, to extractions. She remembers the people and families she sees in her office. We refuse to go anywhere else. We cannot say enough how much of an asset she is to our family. I am the first to admit I have an unrealistic fear of the dentist stemming back to my teen years. Dr Kidd and her team has done such a great job at accommodating my ridiculous crying, shaking and whatever else my body just voluntarily does. They never make me feel like "that lady". I always wait until I can't manage any longer (which I know doesn't help the process, but it is what it is) they are quick to get me in and access my needs are direct with the treatment plan and I never feel like I have been left hanging. I am grateful for the team! I am also grateful being a mom of 3 who's husband works very irregular hours. Some visits I have had to haul my kids with me and they are very understanding when my 5 year old needs to come back just to see where I am or to help her with the restroom! read more

The people are pleasent as well as the dentist. I have been to several dentist in my life and I miss my favorite ones in PA. The feel here is like a Dr's office. You come in on time and then wait for 30-40 minutes before you are seated and ready to go, very frustrating. They have several dentists that work on you, hence Franchise Comfort Dental, not a single dentist office, which is OK but prefer a Dentist who knows you and your family. The receptionists are minimum wage earners and could not care less if you are waiting. They did provide a breakdown of services and cost which were spot on, thats good. But, I think, like most practices, they SQUeeze to many appointments in on one day to maximize profit but lose the customer service touch. Recently had an appointment for a cleaning and xrays. This was one of the most disappointing dentist experiences I've ever had. First, they had to do a "consult" in a room, then after that was finished the doctor said that they would take xrays, a short exam and MAYBE there would be time for a cleaning. I've never scheduled an actual appointment for a cleaning and been told there "might" be time. After a haphazard look in my mouth, the doctor told me I had two cavities (I had a prior dentist visit at completely different dentist and they said I had 6 cavities at the time...) So not only was there no cleaning done, I don't trust the doctor's rushed opinion. I've never had such a terrible, waste of time, appointment before. If you do decide to go with Comfort Dental, I recommend scheduling at any office other than this location--or just save yourself the trouble and find a different dentist completely. read more

However, all of the dentists that I've seen over the past several years have been very friendly and attentive. Dr. Dominic is my favorite. I have been to this office 4 times in the last 12 months with my children. The check ups are done with small xrays, and are rushed. They bed side manner of the dentist that we had wasn't great. She insulted my older kids. They did not want to return. They filled one of my child's tooth with no anesthetic, stating it was a small cavity. The next day it was hurting her, she returned to the office and they questioned her, asked her if she was on drugs and made her feel very upset that they were insisting she must be if her tooth still hurt. They then repaired the tooth and told her to take Advil. The second instance I had 4 of my sons teeth extracted, they shot him with the anesthetic and pulled them out with pliers, he cried the whole time. He had to have 2 more extractions we went somewhere else, the procedure was cheaper per tooth and they used laughing gas and more numbing agent, he was terrified because of the last experience, but it actually was less painful. Now that I have been to another office, I realize how sub par their standards are. Their teeth cleaning involved no actual cleaning with tools other than an electric tooth brush. This may have been a miscommunication, but when I called I made the appointments for check ups and cleanings. Their xray machines took very small pictures and they did not do a full pano even when pulling 4 teeth. They must have taken 8 xrays to try to get a good picture of the teeth they were trying to pull. To top off my amazing experience, they then did not send me a bill for a year. I finally got a bill, and a call from the collection agency in the same week. They said they had sent multiple bills, I received one. I then had to pay an extra 41.00 in fees to the collection agency. read more

Just found out yesterday that the filling is not even sealed to my tooth so food and what not go under there and it causes an infection leading to a root canal. I first went in to get a tooth pulled and a root canal/crown.. I was told my insurance wouldn't cover those teeth. However it would cover up to $1500 on other teeth. A few weeks later I get a letter saying my insurance is covering two root canals and I was confused as to what two root canals. Going to the dentist and they apparently sent in work on teeth that weren't even bothering me to my insurance company and said I was covered on the root canals and crowns. They said that's all I could get work done on so I might as well get it while the insurance is covering it. Here I am less than six months later. The one root canal has already fell apart twice oh, and I'm told I will need to pay more money for them to finally do it right. The other one is rotting from the inside. Both root canals they did we're done improperly. You'd have better luck at the dental school. And on top of that while getting the two root canals they waited until my teeth were completely drill the part before telling me there wasn't enough money for the crown. So instead of getting one done completely I got two done halfway and they're both just falling apart from terrible dental work. I went in with two bad teeth and now I'm leaving with four. Go anywhere else they talk a good game there but you will fall victim of insurance fraud and poor dental work. They can't read x-rays properly, they don't know how to drill right, the only thing they know how to do is get unnecessary work covered by your insurance. read more

I came here to have a crown installed by Dr. Lovato. It was improperly installed and she (actually, a dental assistant) attempted to repair FIVE TIMES. Comfort Dental and Dr. Lovate have refused to take any responsibility for the less than professional service I was provided. I spent thousands of dollars at Comfort Dental for nothing, which they have refused to reimburse. In fact, I had to spend thousands of more dollars to go to another dentist to repair her work and install my crown correctly. I definitely was taken advantage of by these people. read more

My story very short. Almost 20 years ago I picked a Comfort Dental near my house. I HATE dentists. On my third visit I had Dr. Kidd. The most caring, AND not hurting dentist I ever met. Ever had a root canal where it didn't make you cringe? I had two with her. No discomfort at all. Also 2 deep cleanings, same thing. If you can't stand the thought, ask for Dr. Kidd at Bearcreek on south Wadsworth. You will love her. I drive from 104th and Chambers 27 miles to see only her. Ask for nitrous oxide gas to get calm if you have to. When she retires, I won't be taking care of my teeth like I should be........who wants to be afraid and scared every year or three.....lol. And the front desk has a LOT to do, so maybe we want more compassion. The dental assistants for the most part are very good.
