    Breakfast area

Stayed this weekend for dance comp. Nice vibe, felt like a bed and breakfast due to set up (see pics) King size bedroom Suite. Room seemed to be recently renovated, my daughter slept on the queen sized pull out sofa; initially there was no bedding on the pull out, my husband went to front desk and we were immediately accommodated. We slept in the separate bedroom (had a door) had a king sized bed, 4 decent sized pillows and it was comfortable! Breakfast area was great. Clean, and very well kept. Had 2 waffle makers; fresh sausage Patties and scrambled eggs which an employee was serving; decent coffee; juice, cereal and toast. (No pastries). In the lobby at night there were (free) fresh baked Otis Spunkenmeyer cookies which were good and fresh coffee. They also had a mini snack shop where you could purchase chips, honey buns etc for about $1. I gave 4 stars only for the TVs. Both were Roku which is fine, but the process of having to sign in and then log into your cable provider to watch live tv/local stations was a bit tedious. We had no issue doing it but I couldn't help but think that someone else, less tech savvy, would struggle with that process. Lastly, staff was friendly, warm and engaging. I stayed here as a last minute option, comfort inn has never ever been on my radar, but I'd def consider staying at the one in Athens again, or even other places!

My stay here was not comfortable at all. I did not feel safe and I would advise anyone else that tries to stay here that Mike Patel isn't even worth you're money. Not even a penny. Putting in your card on file isn't safe at all because they will overdraft you. I have never been in a place that does not respect me or my wife. I have been married for three years and this place had really tested our relationship. With that being said don't bring you're loved one at all. It's more of a pool party place because the workers often ignore phone calls or hang up in you're face. Breakfast is served, yes. You need to be up on time though. Check out isn't until 1130 but the housekeeper will just bust into your room while you're asleep still in bed and try to clean your room.

Charged $100 bucks for towels that we used to clean up coffee that was spilt. Would only recommend this hotel if it was a last resort.

Hotel is worn and dirty. For the price per room, one would expect it to at least be clean and stocked with towels.

Was here for 4 nights. Didn't clean once and the A/C was broken and even though I asked they didn't fix. Breakfast in the morning is ok.

My husband and I stayed here for one night and would stay here again in the future…read more The staff upon checking in were very friendly and the decor was unique and nostalgic in the lobby, cafe, and room. It was $10 to park even though they had their own parking lot (this seemed a bit excessive to me). The room itself could have been cleaner, especially the floors in the bathroom. There is a restaurant and bar next to the lobby that we did not get to try due to having other plans. The location is ideal for walking around downtown and having a night out. I also had no safety concerns while staying here. I would stay here again for the same price (we paid around $110 for 1 night with a discount).

Truth be told - this is a Motel. Albeit, better than a Red Roof Inn, but still a motel. Pictures…read moreshared on their site show the main building where the lobby, coffee shop and restaurant/bar (The Foundry) is located, but the rooms are across a street in a large L shaped, two-story building. First the positives: The lobby and coffee shop are decorated in a fun, quirky way which creates a casual and relaxing environment. I've heard the decor described as being from a Wes Anderson movie. (I think that is an accurate description.) We would have our morning coffee over there relaxing on the comfy couches/chairs and had a surprisingly good breakfast burrito at the coffee shop. Location was good. Close to downtown, easy 10 minute walk to most things, and it was close to the North Oconee River Greenway walking trail on the other side of the river. Our room (on the second floor) was comfortable, clean, well appointed and quiet. The quietness may be due to the fact that we were possibly one of only two or three customers in the hotel those nights. Nonetheless, we slept well and have no complaints about the room. Now for some minor negatives: Staff, which comprised mostly college students, were less than friendly or attentive. At check-in, important information was not disclosed, like the optional housekeeping service, or that the restaurant/bar was not open (at all) during our stay. The $12 per day parking fee was excessive in my opinion. We were the only car in this lot - I feel like they could've waived the parking fee. And the $75 dog fee was a bit steep - but the room rate was low, so I guess it balanced out. We had to call for towels (and to replace a broken soap dispenser) repeatedly before someone finally showed up around 7 pm - I think they didn't have anyone working.... Anyhow - would I stay at this hotel again? Yes. My girlfriend probably wouldn't however. I think had it been warmer and had the Foundry been open, we probably would have had a better experience there. But, it is significantly cheaper that other hotels I looked at, and, frankly, you have to take that into consideration.

I only interacted with two staff members during my stay though. On to the room. Our room was clean and tidy upon our check in, bathroom included. They didn't refill the complimentary bath soaps, lotion, etc before our arrival. Another guest at the wedding said the same thing. We didn't interact with housekeeping because we stayed for two nights so we put the 'still sleeping' sign on our door. They had complimentary breakfast. It was your standard 'hotel' breakfast. Eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, bagels, fruit, etc. My only complaint was I wish they had toppings for the oatmeal like they did for the waffles. Check out was a smooth process and I didn't have any charges or issues once I returned home.

They sent me a receipt with the one day amount, and then I submitted my expense report through Work. Then the next day I got a new receipt for an additional amount. They never should have sent me a 1 day stay receipt. I do not recommend this hotel.

They have a comfortable lobby and there is wonderful outdoor seating. The room is also very nice. It is clean and fresh and has many items you would like a room to have. However, you will immediately notice the train tracks right outside the window. During the day there are many people walking the tracks and if you are on the 2nd floor as I was, they can look straight into your room. The trains do not seem to be especially noisy, but they were loud enough to wake me up while sleeping. They offer a comfy bed, but the pillows are very uncomfortable as to be unusable. They say they offer breakfast, which is not complimentary, however it is a window where an attendant will make a coffee for you and heat up stale danishes and quiches which are completely inedible. The dinner meals are not worth the time or money spent. The best part of this hotel were the receptionists who cheerfully offered to bring our doordash meals to our room. This hotel is a hard pass going forward.

Oh the fun part, train goes by all night, horn, screech and all. But they do provide ear plugs and a loud white noise maker. We changed our room from right next to the tracks to other side facing parking lot and heard everything. By the way, walls are thiiiiiin. I mean toilet paper thin. So if you got 400-500 a night to burn anything else would have a better return. Just saying. Great concept totally the wrong place.
