There were so many things wrong. The carpet was nasty, the WiFi was janky, There was no coffee or orange juice. The elevator wasn't working and the stairwell was filthy. Stayed this weekend for dance comp. Nice vibe, felt like a bed and breakfast due to set up (see pics) King size bedroom Suite. Room seemed to be recently renovated, my daughter slept on the queen sized pull out sofa; initially there was no bedding on the pull out, my husband went to front desk and we were immediately accommodated. We slept in the separate bedroom (had a door) had a king sized bed, 4 decent sized pillows and it was comfortable! Breakfast area was great. Clean, and very well kept. Had 2 waffle makers; fresh sausage Patties and scrambled eggs which an employee was serving; decent coffee; juice, cereal and toast. (No pastries). In the lobby at night there were (free) fresh baked Otis Spunkenmeyer cookies which were good and fresh coffee. They also had a mini snack shop where you could purchase chips, honey buns etc for about $1. I gave 4 stars only for the TVs. Both were Roku which is fine, but the process of having to sign in and then log into your cable provider to watch live tv/local stations was a bit tedious. We had no issue doing it but I couldn't help but think that someone else, less tech savvy, would struggle with that process. Lastly, staff was friendly, warm and engaging. I stayed here as a last minute option, comfort inn has never ever been on my radar, but I'd def consider staying at the one in Athens again, or even other places! read more

My stay here was not comfortable at all. I did not feel safe and I would advise anyone else that tries to stay here that Mike Patel isn't even worth you're money. Not even a penny. Putting in your card on file isn't safe at all because they will overdraft you. I have never been in a place that does not respect me or my wife. I have been married for three years and this place had really tested our relationship. With that being said don't bring you're loved one at all. It's more of a pool party place because the workers often ignore phone calls or hang up in you're face. Breakfast is served, yes. You need to be up on time though. Check out isn't until 1130 but the housekeeper will just bust into your room while you're asleep still in bed and try to clean your room. read more

THE MANAGER BLATANTLY LIED ON MY SISTER WHO IS A PERSON WITH AUTISM. I made reservations through Hotels.com. We arrived after 11 p.m. and had to wait over 30 minutes because the system was down. The front desk clerk said the system is down often. During the wait my sister urinated on herself. I told the front desk clerk. I didn't want a puddle to be there without telling an employee. The clerk looked disgusted. The system was finally back up and we were able to go to our room. I decided to check my card balance and I saw that an extra $150 have been charged to my account. I tried to call the front desk several times but she did not answer. The next morning the clerk had gotten off and returned. As my sister and I left the room I heard the clerk yell to the manager "Here she is!". The manager walked briskly pass me. Unbeknownst to me, he was going to investigate our room. Then after maybe 30 minutes he came back down to tell me I was not getting the extra $150 back. He said "Your sister urinated in the bed and there's urination all over the bathroom floor." THIS WAS A BLATANT LIE. He asked me if I wanted to go see it. I said no because I just left the room and I know what you're saying is not true. Both the manager and the front desk clerk created this lie against my sister because I was honest and told the clerk that my sister had urinated on herself in the lobby. There were coffee stains on the bed and water wet towels on the bathroom floor. It was obviously no urine on the bed or bathroom floor. After the manager pretended to call the police I actually called the police. One kind policeman told me there was nothing he could do. He told me I would need to call the corporate office. I called corporate and they returned the $150. A week or so later hotels.com asked for a review. I told Hotels.com that the manager blatantly lied on a person with autism. Within a day or two Comfort Inn on Atlanta Highway yet again charged me $150 in retaliation for the Hotels.com review. MY SISTER IS THE VICTIM OF DISCRIMINATION. Amazing stay. Wonderful friendly staff from the front desk to breakfast staff, housekeeping and anyone in between. Our room was clean and fresh. I am very picky with regards to the cleanliness when we stay along the road. Was here for 4 nights. Didn't clean once and the A/C was broken and even though I asked they didn't fix. Breakfast in the morning is ok.

I have stayed here a few times when I travel to Athens. They have recently done several nice renovations, but they did not double check to make sure everything was done correctly. We had to plug in our refrigerator, which required moving some furniture, and our smoke detector was covered in plastic. Also, the exit sign on our hall was installed upside down. Made a reservation and received an email confirmation from the hotel confirming my arrival date. Showed up to the hotel and was told I did not have a reservation. I showed the clerk the email I received from the hotel confirming the arrival date I arrived on, and eventually he was able to find my reservation. Unfortunately for me, it was for arrival the previous night, and since I hadn't turned up (why would I?!?) they marked it as a no show and relet the room. Oh and they were now fully sold out. After a call to his manager the hotel booked me in a room down the street at their expense however the place they booked me was a step down in quality. Fortunately it was for just one night. What was worse out of all this was the clerk trying to indicate it must have been some sort of communication error? Really, did the email miscommunicate the day of arrival to the day I was intending to arrive? Ridiculous. read more

I am an active duty service member and had reservations that I had to cancel for reasons beyond my control. I was unable to stay because my orders were cancelled at the last minute. The young lady who answered the phone told me that the hotel has a 24 hour cancellation policy and she could not cancel the reservation. I asked her to have a manager return my call. When I didn't get a call, I called back several times but a manager was never available so I continued to leave messages for a manager to return my call. The reservations were made through the military and I was asking to explain my circumstances - but no one bothered to call me back. I was later told by my unit representative that he had spoken with the manager (Mr. Munoj Patel) and that the no-show charge would be reversed. I just received my credit card bill and was charged $97.45 anyway. Had I stayed, I would have signed a tax exemption form and the room would only have been $85.49. I am in the approval chain for funding for my unit and on multiple occasions we have reserved several rooms at a time at this hotel when we had Soldiers in town who needed to spend the night. I have already told my unit representative that unless this is the last hotel in town that has a vacancy, he is to avoid making reservations there for our troops. Had they handled my situation with a little more professionalism, I may have considered staying here for my re-scheduled trip - but I will never stay at this hotel now. Just from my telephonic interactions with the desk clerks and lack thereof with the management of this place - you should avoid it as well. I would like to add that it was relayed to me that when Mr. Patel spoke to my unit rep. he alluded to the fact that he felt that I was being dishonest about not being able to stay. I found that interesting since he would even not call me back to allow me to explain my reasons for needing to cancel. He proceeded to give my soldier an unnecessary lecture in commerce and made ridiculous comparisons to other business practices that had nothing to do with lodging or my inability to keep my reservation. I needed to cancel one room. I called again today (12 May 17) to speak to them so that I wouldn't have to write this review and was again told that the managers are all unavailable. (How convenient.) I hope the loss of future business with myself and my organization is worth the $97.45 no show charge which consequently I have refuted on my card because of the manager's telephonic confirmation that he would reverse it. read more

This was a terrible hotel I will never revisit. The pillows were like sleeping on rocks and we received no room service. The breakfast was a muffin granola bar and water. Then to top it off they accused me of stealing one of their horrible pillows and charged my account. They are part of the choice privilege hotels which I a Dimond level member of. Forget your toothbrush, razor, or shaving cream? Just go to the front desk; they'll hook you right up. Get a homemade cookie while you're there. Need a computer? They've got one. Bring your own? They have WiFi. The owner, Manoj Patel, goes to great lengths to hire people who are friendly, outgoing, and willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their guests' needs. Although the information booklets in the rooms promise a "continental breakfast", they've recently hired a breakfast attendant named Becky who is, undeniably, a ray of sunshine from 6:00 to 9:30 am every day. (She's actually a ray of sunshine all the time, but breakfast is from 6:00-9:30.) I watch in amazement as this one woman cooks, keeps the buffet line stocked with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, danishes, yogurt, cereal and more, helps disabled guests take their breakfast to their table, checks on everybody's needs, and busses away the used plates, cups and utensils. No joke, they should put Becky's face in the dictionary beside the word 'multitasker'. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Made a reservation back in September of 2018 for a dance competition May 2019. We had a death in the family and I called to cancel and they still charged us even though I tried to cancel a week in advance. Because of graduation for UGA the GM said I had to cancel by April 20th. I explained we couldn't plan a death but they were absolutely no help and showed no compassion at all. The prices were outrageous because of graduation. So now I'm being charged over $300 for one night at a hotel I won't even be staying at. We travel all over the country for dance and I have never had a hotel treat me like this. We will never stay at another Choice Hotel and after our experience, the other dance companies agree we will no longer give any of these hotels our business.
