Comfort inn & Suites - Sikeston I-55 is an acceptable interstate hotel and we have stayed here before, a little over two years ago. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff is extremely courteous, and a good complimentary breakfast is served. Good things are definitely going on here, but with this said it is evident that a refresh, if not a complete refurbishment, is needed. Surfaces have dulled, carpets and painted surfaces are worn, and some bathroom fixtures have seen better days. Time takes its toll on all hotels and a little work would make a tremendous difference here. read more

Picked a hotel close to where we were going to eat along our path, isn't that a great plan?? NOPE... We really should have done more research. This place was dirty (bathroom and bedroom area), noisy, lots of stains on carpet, ice machines and vending machines were not working ( okay, 2 of 5 were working). Hotel staff were anything BUT friendly. I could actually hear the conversations in the room next to us. The bed wasn't too bad, however. Breakfast the next day was previously frozen breakfast sandwiches sitting out on a counter in their packaging. Unsure if they were reused from previous day or not. Thus not wanting to risk food poisoning, we went to the Burger King next door. read more

Room was pretty clean, staff came in unannounced and just pushed open the door at 10 AM for check out. Pretty sure checkout time is 11 AM. The tv remote provider doesn't go to the TV so you're stuck watching Botched 24/7 without a way to change it. Found a kitten in the parking lot so worth a star for that. read more

Typical budget motel. You get what you pay for. Breakfast is, again, typical for these kind of establishments: old waffle maker, some toast and muffin offerings, cereal, etc. There was a leaky apple/orange juice station (make sure to stand back a little so you don't step in the sticky juice puddle). If you want coffee, you should just go out to the fast food places nearby. Asked to refill the coffee dispenser, and one lady came to fill one up in the prep room, but never brought it out. By the way, there were 3 people at the front desk just hanging out. It wasn't particularly busy, for the lady to have forgotten. Rooms were fine in terms of space, comfort, and cleanliness. My husband and I were visiting my sister in Sikeston, and he made the reservation for this motel, evidently without looking at the reviews. The room was not clean! The countertops were dirty in the corners, the toilet had urine stains on the base, and the tub non slip surface was disgusting. The bed was not bad, but with everything else, I was afraid to put my head on the pillow. The breakfast was mediocre at best, and like another reviewer said, it ended at 9am instead of 10 as usual. We will never stay here again. read more

So while my truck was in the shop (I drive a tractor trailer). The wife and I stayed here. The room was nice and spacious but the beds were a little firm. The room had a flat screen with a good many channels. There's an indoor pool with hot tub. In room fridge and microwave were nice as well. My problems is that I paid 129.99 plus tax for this room and the wifi was absolutely horrible. I couldn't even post to Facebook. The staff were a little snooty and would not accommodate our needs. I needed a late check out and never ounce have I been denied a late check out. The business center computer would not let me access my email so I could print business related papers and worst of all was the breakfast. Not only did it end at nine as opposed to ten as it normally is. There were few selections and they were not that good. I would not stay here again because of the price to value ratio. read more

The night manager was amazing! We can't remeber her name but she was so helpful. We are traveling from Colorado to North Carolina and we ended up in Sikeston for the night. We helped us with our under 21 years old problem and let us stay with them! She tried to call all the hotels to see if they would take us and no on would! My wife and I had a long day of traveling and we were really looking forward to our stay in this hotel since we had stayed here three times previously. Unfortunately, we encountered a relatively young and inexperienced front desk person who INSISTED that my retired military ID was insufficient for identification purposes and MUST have a driver's license. I came close to refusing but could not see having to pay for the night in a hotel that I wasn't staying in since my cancellation time had passed. I gave Dee Patel my driver's license under protest and then proceeded to inform her of my type of car, model, color and license plate number. I informed her that I had over 250 nights stayed in Choice Privilege hotels and have NEVER had my military ID refused. To say the least, I was very upset. I then got to our room and discovered the chair at the desk (in which I am currently sitting) was practically on the floor and would not raise any higher. It ensures that guests will spend very little time in this chair. I then went to the pool to "cool off" only to discover that there were MANY patches of missing paint on the bottom of the pool. I scratched my foot several times and left the pool. I am very anxious to leave this place in my rear view mirror in the morning. I guarantee that a hotel that fails to recognize my 20+ years of military service will NOT be receiving my business in the future. Goodbye! read more

The manager and owner (father and son) are shady as hell. As a former employee that worked there for 4 years and gave my 2 week notice, they found one of my electric bills and had it shut off. All they needed was my ssn, phone#, account #, and meter #. I'm just telling you this to let you know that if they will screw over a former employee that left the right way, then imagine what they'll do to a guest. read more

First of all, let me say that finding last minute reservations last night was difficult, and I was really relieved to hear Jeremiah tell me that there were still rooms available here. He even pre-checked me in over the phone to make sure that my room was held! After taking my credit card information over the phone, he told me there was a refundable, $100 cash deposit being enforced tonight that would be returned the following morning, dependent on not smoking in the room. Being a non-smoker, this was no issue for me. When I arrived to check in, Jeremiah was again helpful and courteous. He had everything ready for me and all I really had to do was sign the papers, hand over the cash and go to the room. When I got to the room, it was actually pretty nice. Being in the middle of February, it was cold and the heat was not on. It took a while for the room to warm; I think the high ceilings and spacious suite were to blame for that. We had a comfortable night and enjoyed the accommodations. In the morning, when ready to check out, I went down to the front desk and handed the clerk my cash receipt. He got up from behind the desk and went to inspect the room for signs of smoking. Of course, there were none, and I followed him back to the front desk. He gave back the $100, and I went on my way. Less than two hours later, I had a voicemail from the same gentleman, the following is a transcript, omitting many "ums". "Yeah Ms ____, you were in room 113. Apparently there was no cash payment paid. And I actually had to call the law. And if you can actually come up here and pay the paid that was owed, we don't have to go through that. And it's a mistake on probably both ends. Becaus eyou did do the $100 deposit and with it being busy last night, I'm not for sure where it was misplaced or whatnot. But it was not posted and not taken. And therefore there was an amount of $105.66 that is due. And that should have been paid upon check out. But you did not pay it so therefore you really do need to come back up here because Sikeston Police is being called. Thank you. Bye bye. Oh and you can reach me back at 573-472-0197." I never leave without paying a bill, and certainly would not have done so this morning if I had realized that there was any chance that money was still owed. Calling the police before I had a chance to discuss that with the hotel was unnecessary and a bad business practice. Having worked for a major hotel chain just a few short years ago, being pre-checked in and taking a credit card over the phone meant that the guest was being charged at that time. Though I had not checked my online account to ensure that the payment was taken, I was under the impression that my bill was paid before I set foot on the property. When I called the hotel back, a female (the first I had encountered) answered the phone. I told her my name and the room I had checked out of, and a bit about the rude voicemail and expressed my displeasure at the way that call was handled. She told me that the man who had left the voicemail (who did not leave his name) had just left for the day but that the owner was available. She transferred me to the owner, who listened to my story with some disinterest and at a certain point, the call dropped off. Madder than I was before, I called back and spoke to the same female. She connected me almost immediately again with the owner, who apologized for accidentally disconnecting me. I told him how inappropriate it was for the overnight/early morning clerk to leave me such a voicemail, threatening to or actually calling the police on a guest who had no clue that there was a bill due. He said that he had already spoken with the gentleman about it and it was taken care of (I'm sure he did no such thing, if the clerk was already gone by the time I made the first phone call, and a mere 45 seconds passing between my first conversation with the owner and the second one, it is highly improbable) and he wanted to know when I could come back and pay the bill. I told him I couldn't come back to pay the bill; that I could make the payment over the phone but I was nearly two hours away at that point. He passed the call back to the female and told her to take my credit card information again. She also said they need a copy of my card to be faxed to them. I have agreed to do that in the morning. As of just now, the payment has been posted to my online account. I have never been more unhappy with customer service, not just in the travel industry, but in any commercial sector. Jeremiah's initial positive impression was vastly overpowered by the extremely unprofessional work of the next shift clerk and even the owner to a certain degree. While the owner was not as bad as the overnight clerk, I did not need his empty attempt at placating me regarding reprimanding that employee. I certainly hope he does reprimand him because that voicemail was an unacceptable way to talk to customers. I will not be going back, ever. read more
