I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Sikeston, MO for one night on 9/20/2020. Pros: Friendly Staff: All the staff I interacted with were professional, friendly and hardworking. Myra, the front desk clerk, greeted me cheerfully when I arrived without a reservation. She was helping other guests and literally hustled to get back to me. Beautiful Rooms: My king size room ($109/night) was huge, spacious, elegant, comfortable, and exceptionally clean (see pics). Also, it had a huge shower (I hate showering in bathtubs). The shower head was positioned about 7 ft up, had great water pressure, and I actually took the time to luxuriate in the feeling of all the warm water falling down like rain. Convenient (though unattractive) location: The location is convenient off the highway (near both I-57 and I-55), close to a string of chain restaurants. It is also situated right next to a Walmart for your shopping pleasure. The environs, however, are a bit dismal if you're looking for a 'room with a view'. Cons: Poor Breakfast: I would subtract a star and a half (if I could) for the underwhelming breakfast and confusing set up. To be clear, it doesn't matter to me if the hotel has breakfast or not, but if you are going to advertise a hot breakfast, then serve one. The Hampton Inn/Sikeston website advertises its free hot breakfast stating they are committed to making "that important meal a delicious one, too". Due to COVID, this hotel did not offer a self-serve breakfast bar, instead, you order from the rattled front desk clerk/breakfast server (which was the same person). All she had were sausage and biscuit sandwiches. I asked her what else she has, and she said yogurt. No bacon. No eggs. No waffles. No pancakes. It would have been helpful to have had a menu of what was available. Also, after finishing breakfast, it was confusing what to do with your trash and tray. Summary: On a final note, when checking in, Myra told me there was a problem with the room I reserved and upgraded me because she didn't want me "going on yelp and giving us a bad review". I was upgraded to a nicer room. I had a relaxing evening in the room. I slept well. I woke up and, what I had hoped would be a nice relaxing shower, turned into a chaotic turn of events. With hair full of conditioner; the alarm, loud alarm, went off... while I was shaving my legs. A very quick rinse, towel around hair, putting on yesterday's clothes, throwing all belongings into my bag and heading as fast as I could to get out of the hotel. I had no desire to wait around for firepeople to check the place, and to be allowed back in. In the lobby I noticed people going about normal business. After putting all my belongings into my car, I went back to the front desk. Response, oh, sometimes the shower steam sets off the alarm. Management is replacing devices. Why was I upgraded to a room that had such a problem that it would disturb my piece of mind? I didn't take my medicine, I hed conditioner in my wet hair. I didn't get to brush my teeth. I had no inclination to haul my luggage back into the room. I went into the first floor restroom to get a tissue to dry my ears..and there were no tissues. I got tissues at the front desk. I also asked why there had been no cups in my room, was I to use the coffee cups for coffee and teeth brushing? Oh, there were suppose to be plastic cups in the room. This is not the way to start a day. Management: get your detectors fixed pronto. Don't put people in the rooms where this situation will happen. I stayed at your hotel two weeks before without incident ...but will be hesitant to stay here for some time. read more

Will never stay here again. They are remodeling this hotel and had the audacity to hang a sign like this up by the elevator. Yeah yeah I know they can get in if they want to anyway but most reputable hotels will block rooms or floors out for booking when they are doing remodeling. I know that decision costs money and time because there are unoccupied rooms for a long period of time but good hotels do that to protect privacy. I guess this hotel doesn't give a shit. read more

When we arrived the staff was very friendly and got us checked in quickly. We went to our room and settled in briefly. We heard the fire alarm going off in the room across the hall and assumed since the alarm was not going off in my room it was a glitch. We went to the front desk and shared that the alarm was continuing non-stop and also inquired about the TV not receiving local channels. We did learn that there had been a lightning strike the previous week and that WiFi, the fire alarms and TV were all just coming back up. When we returned to our room the alarm across the hall continued and was still going off by the time we left early the following morning. Unfortunately, the fire alarm in my room went off at about 1:50 AM and continued for about 30 seconds to a minute. About 25 minutes later the alarm went off again. At this point my daughter went to the front desk to inform them that this was not just a one time thing, The staff was courteous but let us know they called a technician. We tried to go back to sleep but every 20 minutes or so the fire alarm in our room would go off and wake us and it appears it did the neighbors as well. This happened a minimum of 8 times with us checking with the desk once more around 4 AM. We packed up and left around 6 AM (which was unplanned to be so early). Why would you rent a room across the hall from or adjacent to a room with loud noises? There had to be a different solution. The affected room was a known problem before we arrived. Our room and ones affected should not have been rented out. The alarms need some type of reset that can be fixed as needed. These rooms should never have been used. After I brought this to Hilton's attention I got the standard thanks for letting us know and we'll throw some points at you. I'd have rather gotten the nights sleep I thought I was paying for. Never heard from the hotel management nor need to now. Don't think we need Hilton points after this. read more

Disappointed. Nice, modern, newer hotel, but not worth the high price. The staff is nice and work hard to meet your needs. BUT, the hallways on the second floor are barely above freezing, causing cold air to ooze into the rooms even with the heat on (it is the middle of May and in the 60s at night, so all the AC was unnecessary). The lighting in the room was poor. They have installed very nice Roman shades in the rooms, but the control to raise or lower them is set up so high, you have to be at least 6.5' to reach it if you stand on your tiptoes, so most of us are forced to leave it as it is set, letting unwanted outside light into the room at night. The bed is hard, like the cheap ones in less expensive hotels, making for a mostly sleepless night if you, like me, are a side-sleeper. The tile floors in the bathroom and entry have something sticky on them, so I don't want to walk on them in my bare feet. The rest of the flooring is cheap carpet tiles. I could have stayed at another, older hotel for half the price of this one. read more

Stopped here on my way from Louisiana to Michigan for a nights rest. The hotel was nice and new, and fairly clean. Although when I cleaned up water from the shower that got in the bathroom floor, the washcloth went from white to brown from the dirty floor. It isn't near much for food - only a couple things right there (I stopped on the 4th of July and they all closed early too) unless you want to drive a bit, but it's next to a fairly nice Walmart and you can bring something back to eat in your room. The free breakfast that is served in the morning was good though. I would stay here again. I just hope they clean the floors a little better. read more

Pros: Wonderful place, very clean, friendly staff, everything you need is on site, great beds, highly recommended, great pool, and great breakfast on site. Con's: Only issues I have is the door frame at the bottom is not fully closed but the top half is, when trying to sleep, some light comes in, the shower head has a horrible outspray, it'll get the job done, but could be improved, and the shower doors aren't installed correctly, water will splash out from the seems causing the floor to get soaked. read more

The pros- it's close to the highway. Breakfast options are great! Staff is nice and professional. The rooms are clean. The hotel is also clean. The cons- probably the worst sleep I have ever had at a hotel. The walls are super thin. I could hear everything in the rooms next to me. One night I could hear the person's tv on all night. Another night I could hear a group getting into their room after 11 pm. And it always sounded like the folks above me were stomping in their room. read more

Room was ok. carpet needed a really good vacuuming. there was NO HOT WATER when I was ready for my morning shower! I let the water run for almost five minutes and it never got even warm. sure made a $194 room charge a real disappointment. won't recommend this Sikeston Missouri hotel to anyone. read more

Absolutely beautiful. Clean modern and friendly staff within walking distance to many restaurants a full breakfast is served in am and grandkids are enjoying the pool. There is coffee in lobby 24 hrs flavored ice water and fresh cookies. read more

The most dirtiest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at!! When we first walked in at 2am in the morning it was about 48F this place literally smelled like S**t from the front desk into the elevator to the 2nd floor!!! Then you see the carpet un vacuumed at least the first floor and the second floor. Luckily the rooms didn't smell as bad. It had pink mold in all four corners of the shower; the bathroom floor looked like they never been mopped! For breakfast it was buffet style however your plate was made by the attendant; did not eat food there since the dining room floor was disgusting and coffee counter top was dirty and the overflowing trash cans made breakfast undesirable. Opened a room for our workers and they had no mold issues with their room however their coffee machine was not cleaned out-old coffee filter was left there from who knows whenever they were last cleaned. I don't recommend this place for people who normally stay at Hampton Inn this place was a huge let down!!!! read more
