Overall, we found the main parts of the hotel to be clean, updated, and adequate. The pool was clean, however, the hours are not conducive to families who are not spending the day in the hotel. The breakfast area was clean, and while a bit smaller than other breakfasts we've had at other similarly priced hotels, it was good and was kept-up well with guests coming and going. The downside that we found was that our room in particular, while it was obviously "cleaned", smelled severely of wet ash tray. It reminded me of walking into a chain-smoking family member's living room. It was bad enough that we walked down to ask the front desk if we possibly got the wrong room, since we thought we were getting a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, the worker at the desk could care less. Apparently, all rooms are non-smoking now...but yet, ours had the overwhelming smell of smoke. Otherwise, we found the beds to be comfortable, and our bathroom was clean. As a side note regarding the bathroom--I found it rather odd that there were no vents or exhaust fans for the bathroom. This was a little weird to us that you couldn't turn on the fan to exhaust the steam from the shower, nor could you use it to exhaust other "fumes" when someone was using the bathroom. When you have a family staying in a room, that last part is pretty important.... Personally, my family and I will probably NOT willingly return to this hotel because of the smoke-issue and lack of concern over what we experienced there. The majority of staff that interacted with us were very short with us, and seemed to not want to be bothered...even when asking for recommendations on local restaurants or places to visit. Need a quick, overnight stay? Sure, this could work for you. But, for a few days-stay...I would be choosing somewhere else. read more

This place straight up stinks! I booked this place simply because it's convenient to where I needed to be. Any hoo, this place has plenty of parking, there's a great deal of things to do in the area. Inside the hotel is lack luster to say the least. Especially when you get to your hotel room. I had a room with water jets in the bath tub to kind of make up up for the place not having a pool / spa but it didn't work. What else didn't work were any of the plugs and their mangled USB ports. The beds were cozy sure. The worst part about my stay was for breakfast. Their food was minimal and not just that, it was really bad. Even so awful that other guests were complaining about it. Great customer service. Friendly staff! Especially chris, front desk lady, went above and beyond. Also, another nice lady was the breakfast/front desk lady. Honestly, all the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was really good for being continental, each day they have scrambled eggs and a different meat ex. Sausage gravy, sausage, bacon and a wide variety of other breakfast options. Coffee was good too! Room was clean, which was most important to us, and it was quiet. Only thing that was a con was the room doors are hard to close. read more

I've stayed here before and never had an issue until now. When my wife arrived, they are doing renovations and there's no carpet in the hallways. Normally I've seen places put down plastic or some sort of sheeting over it. This location just had you walk in on the old foam padding that was there. There was a half-inch to an inch gap between the floor and the door of the room. Further, when you shut the door, the door did not latch automatically. You had to finagle with it to get the latch to work. On top of that, there was a musty smell to the room. However, when my wife arrived, it was after 10 o'clock at night. She just wanted to go to bed. So she didn't say anything to the hotel staff. The room was definitely not worth the $150. I paid for it. read more

I would give this location ZERO stars but Yelp does not have that choice. So let me begin. This nightmare began when I went to my room on the third floor. There was a bug lying on its back in the process of dying with its legs twitching. Need I say more. Asked for another room and after great consternation of the person at the desk that evening with the exclamation "A bug?" I was given another room on the ground floor. This however was mild compared to being abused and assaulted by the person who later identified herself of the manager of the location. So this does not turn into an arduous task to read, I did write to: Mr. Patrick Pacious, President & CEO Choice Hotels 1 Choice Hotels Circle, Suite 400 Rockville, Maryland 20850 and stated in my letter: "On October 15 in preparation to check out I did my laundry and requested a small plastic bag of the Streetsboro employee as I was going to the elevator. She stated when I returned she would give me a bag. However, when I returned she was occupied and I went to take a plastic bag from the cart next to my room 121. Seeing me do this, she immediately reprimanded me [to] "get away from the cart," "do not touch the cart," and [to] "Go to your room!" She then went further and was now threatening me that she would be cancelling my reservations if I did not go to my room. This Choice employee stood in my personal space. I could feel her hovering over me, threatening not to leave until I do as she ordered. This is as I reported is an assault. I was going to return to my room and call the police, however I did not want to spoil any further what was just the beginning of my trip to South Dakota with friends. ... After waiting a short while in the lounge area for my friends, I went outside with my cart. Lindsey [the manager] saw me and began calling to me several times until I turned around. She spoke in a voice and with a demeanor completely opposite to what I experienced in the hotel a short while ago. It was as if this was an entirely different individual." The Comfort Inn & Suites in Streetsboro was a great place to spend the night while traveling on the Ohio Turnpike. Jodi, who checked us in, was very friendly and the room was clean--seemed like everything was brand new--the bed very comfortable and it was a good value. The only reason this gets a 4 star is because of breakfast. Sleeping accommodations were great. The bathroom/shower was fantastic. Comfort Inn breakfast has really gone down hill not only at this location but others that I have stayed at as well. Improve breakfast and you get a 5 star from me every time. read more

Let me start by saying I stay in Comfort Inn hotels every week. This one left a lot to be desired. The guest room was dated and the carpet was very dirty (just ask my formally white socks). They appear to be under construction so maybe in a few months things will change. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been including an old Qtip on the floor (clearly indicating they don't mop). The window was dirty (clearly on the inside) and the bed was less then comfortable. The towels are old (2012 if you look at the label) I'd skip this one if you can and find somewhere else. read more

Very dated, paint chipping and wallpaper peeling everywhere. Needs a facelift and makes you worry about how clean everything really is. Pull out sofa broken and not useable. Breakfast was good and the attendant, Laura, was very nice. We usually stay at the HI express chain but this was $40 cheaper. You get what you pay for. read more

What a dump!! The hallways were unbearably hot on the way to the room, but this was exceeded by the incredibly hot room we were put in. Took until 6am to cool down to a sleepable temp, so ended up sleeping in. Called by the front desk literally at 11.01am to ask if we were staying an extra day....clearly a veiled attempt to get us to vacate by the hotels check out time....wouldn't have been late if the room had the AC turned on by the staff. Seemed like it was most likely done to save money as this place clearly isn't doing well. Complained at the front desk and was told the owner would call me. He did a few hours later (thanks Bob for your quick response!....LOL). After a long and (excuse the pun) heated conversation, Bob informed me that it was effectively my fault as I didn't come down immediately (arrived 1.30am and exhausted from a long drive), so he couldnt see a way to help. Not even a sorry! Similar experience to a few other reviewers below. Had stayed in Comfort Inns over the previous 2 nights despite usually staying at Hampton Inns. Last 2 stays were great but Bob, his stinking hot hotel, and his exceptionally poor attitude have literally turned me off, just like his air conditioning!! Stayed next night at Hampton Inn at our next stop and ain't never goin' back to a CI&S thanks to Bob. If I have to I'd rather sleep in my car or under the stars of lovely Ohio......bye Bob, enjoying sleeping in your own sweaty mess. Just disgraceful! read more

Where do I start: rented two King suites, one smelled of extremely strong cigarette smoke, asked to be moved, no problem we were moved across hall, sofa bed didn't work in new room, nothing was done about it. Wifi didn't work, had 8 kids with me, went down to desk twice to complain no wifi, ended up using my phone as hotspot for kids tablet, fell asleep was charged by phone carrier, showed manager the next day, just wanted some compensation, maybe even just a sorry, no, I became wrong because I didn't come down to the desk a third time to complain about wifi, this is what I was told. I went back the next day, as we were in a hurry to leave this trashy place, to talk to Jason, the manager, he never came out, instead I was greeted by the guy who was at the desk the night of my stay, who seems to have a photographic memory of things I said in such minute detail that he should in fact be a Nuclear Physicist. He, whom I didn't get his name, argued every single point with me, he even stated to me that the room's smell of smoke wasn't that bad, and that maybe I was hyper sensitive, it is so hard for me to keep emotion out of this review. I could literally write a book at this point, because their is so much more. The bottom line do not bring your family to this place, not even your mistress, or a pet you are trying to get rid of, it would just be plain wrong! read more
