This is a hotel in Binghamton New York. It's fairly easy off the highway system here. Check in is pretty easy. There's lots of parking. It is pet friendly in some rooms. There is a hot breakfast after 6am and coffee available 24 hours a day. The room was clean and fine. The TV works really well. While at a softball tournament in Binghamton, one of the "recommended" hotels by the event was Comfort Inn Binghamton. From the outside and walking into the lobby, everything looked normal, but once we checked in and walked to the elevator, we could see the paint peeling off the facade so to speak. 1) There was a hand written sign that one of the two elevators was out of order 2) only one working ice machine for entire hotel 3). Inside of the elevator, the doors were all scratched up ... was someone trapped in here earlier? 4). The hallways were "vintage" right from the 80's 5). There were stains in the shower 6) towels had stains and holes 7) no housekeeping service for the duration of my stay. If this was a $79/night motel, I would understand. But for $200/night, this is inexcusable. read more

I'm struggling with giving this literal toilet a one or a two because I'm not sure if the stain that I found on the mattress after sleeping on it all night was a number one or a number two . I guess I'll assume it was a number two. And that was only the tip of the turd. As soon as I checked intimate room after a long day I undressed and laid on the bed . Immediately two people barged into the room . I assumed they were hotel staff . But when I woke up in the morning I discovered the door doesn't close properly and I was sleeping in an unsecured room all night . That is when I turned and look at the bed . When I did I about pooped myself . I toss and turn in bed and my nightly tussle caused the fitted sheet to come up .. and it revealed the hideous secrets lurking under.. a giant brown stain. It was the color as if a dog ate an entire ozempic pen and then a whole pizza .. the dog got the ozempic squirts and relieved himself on the bed . Needless to say I needed coffee . I poured water in the machine and went to load it . The cheap flea hotel I was stunned to discover is reusing the plastic filter tray that's supposed to be wrapped in plastic and tossed . Disgusting. Meantime the water is leaking out of the machine onto the desk and the floor . Doesn't work anyway . I told the young woman at the desk and she promised of if I called Priceline they would approve a refund . She was lying to my face . When Priceline called she said they needed to talk to a manager . More than a week later every time they or I call there is no manager . It's a scam . The hotel is clearly owned by a family who also lives in the hotel . You can smell the reek of their cooking through out the hotel . When I called back personally they said they are now refusing the refund because I didn't complain until the morning . I didn't know until the morning ! And the fact that I slept on it all night without knowing the disgusting mystery makes it worse not better ! read more

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for one night. upon arrival, the receptionist was very nice! once we got to the second floor, we noticed a smell. when we got into our room, the smell was worse. smelt like mildew & as if the room hadn't been cleaned. we dropped our bags off & headed down the road for dinner. when we returned, our key cards weren't working. turns out the battery for the key card on the door died & the "handy man" had to come and fix it. well it took 3 hours to do that, however the hotel workers were very nice and gave us a new room and called us to let us know we could go into the old room to get our belongings. in both rooms the sheets had stains and hair on them, the bathrooms were old, smelly and dirty. the floor in the hotel room looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in a long time. the AC was leaking all night as well. we felt uncomfortable sleeping there but we chocked it up to it only being for one night. honestly, we won't be back as we don't typically visit binghamton to begin with but if we do come back to this area, we won't stay here lol. oh and i def agree that some of these workers live in the hotel. i saw the same handy man that fixed the door the next morning wearing the same clothes (looked like sweatpants that could be pajamas) just wanted to share my two cents! the only positive is the workers were accommodating & nice & the continental breakfast wasn't bad read more

Stayed there for my son's college graduation. We paid $379 for ONE night. Obviously, the hotels in the area are informed when Binghamton University has a graduation. We were denied early check-in. We arrived and were given a room (131) that clearly had not been occupied for quite some time. The smell was unreal. We tried to stay anywhere else, but everything was sold out because of the graduation. The room was not clean (the yellow on the pillows is bacteria guys!!), and the bathroom floor was disgusting, with a drain that did NOT work. I asked for extra blankets, and was told I could only have one (????). We left as fast as we could the following day. NOT AT ALL COMFORTING AT THE COMFORT INN. Very clean room. Soft and comfortable beds. The beds are smaller than I am used to for a double room but there were only two of us and my grandchild and we fit just fine. The bathroom has the sink separate which I appreciate because you can allow someone else to shower and use the bathroom without losing the ability to get ready with a sink and mirror. My family and I were traveling for vacation. It was late and we got a room here to stay for the night. The only decent thing about this hotel was the exterior and the lobby. The hallway outside our room was nasty looking with stains on the carpet. Our room was just as disgusting, stains on the wall and bathtub. Our bathtub had pain peeling up and I was worried about us cutting our foot on the peeling paint. Lady at front desk couldn't give us a different room because they were all booked up. We stay exclusively at Choice Hotels when we travel, since they are typically the most affordable, plus we are rewards club members and like to accumulate the points. We have stayed at our fair share of Comfort Inn's over the years, and in regards to this one, I have to believe it is on the verge of a Quality Inn downgrade. All of the details are pretty worn and dingy here, just not the same level of care that the Comfort Inn usually provides. When we initially checked into our room, it reeked of mustiness. I opened the window to see if I could bear it, kneeled down to put something in the fridge, and my knees and hands were soaked in gross brown goo. The fridge was leaking and oozing something ewwwwe all over the carpet. The friendly desk clerk (Danielle) apologized and promptly moved us to a room across the hall. The second room was fine enough, but again worn and dingy. The walls were scuffed all over, the furniture was stained, the bathroom had no exhaust fan. Plus the shower water pressure was too low. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfortable enough, and the price was reasonable enough (about $100 per night, all in), so if you come here with lowered expectations than what the Comfort Inn brand usually delivers, you can save a few bucks and have a lackluster, but still comfortable enough stay with friendly staff. NOTE: I actually came back into this review to downgrade to two stars because I remembered something else unfortunate. We have been Choice Privileges Members for over 15 years, very loyal to the brand. We typically always ask for a late checkout, always within reason, usually just an hour. When I asked at the desk the night before our checkout I was told they NEVER grant late checkouts! He wouldn't even check if our room was booked the next day because he said he would be in trouble with management! Then he gave a litany of bogus reasons why they can't ever do a late checkout! I can understand on occasion if there is a time when a reasonable late checkout isn't possible because of occupancy and staffing. But to say NEVER is just preposterous. :-( read more

As a super Yelper, I try very hard to provide honest and fair reviews. I try to view all my reviews from both the perspective of the business owner and the client. I try very hard to remain unbiased in my reviews and be as positive as possible. On this count though, I find it very difficult to leave a positive review. Let's start with the positive. We were greeted by a very friendly lady at the front desk. She did an excellent job making us feel welcome. That is about where the positive ended. I grabbed a luggage cart and could not find one that was not filthy. Sticky stuff, dirt and grime, they were all gross. We got to our room and the door was jammed. The locking mechanism had to be slammed shut to latch. It made leaving our room quietly a near impossibility. Upon walking into the room, we found it dated and dirty. Water streaks and spots were on the mirrors. It looked like someone had sneezed on the mirror. The tile floor just inside the door looked like it had not been swept. The arm chair was old and dingy. An equally worn out ottoman sat in front of it. It was the only true seating in the room minus the office chair. In the corner by the luggage table there was a wad of something stuck to the wall. It could have been anything from caramel to fecal matter. It was gross. The sink in the berthing area did not appear to have been cleaned correctly. The drain had white crud all around it. The bathroom was equally problematic. There was water damage in the ceiling that had not been properly fixed and the tile was peeling. Behind it was black mold. The picture over the toilet had been water damaged and it too was covered in black mold. The corners of the tub were covered in black mold. I have submitted pictures to support my claims. There were only two towels and a hand towel available. The shower had a thin curtain but no water proof liner, so the water was all over the floor by the time we had finished showering, despite our trying to tuck the shower curtain tightly inside on each corner. Water pressure and temperature both remained good during showers. No complaints on that front. The bed was a king size bed, which I had ordered. My experience with king size beds in motels is that they are usually deep and soft and movement on one side of the bed is minimal to the other. I have shoulder and neck problems relative to a car accident, so I wanted a large, soft bed that I could frequently reposition myself on without waking my wife. This was not to be the case. This mattress was about as cheap a king size mattress as one could get. It was hard, thin and neither my wife nor I found it remotely comfortable. There were minimal blankets. Plenty of pillows though. That I can credit the room. Two sheets and a light quilt was all that was available. The air conditioner worked correctly but it was a wall mounted unit, so one side of the room stayed cold while the other was not. Our biggest complaint about the air unit was that the vanes were immovable. The air blew straight across the bed. There was no way to redirect it. This meant fan driven air in our faces every time we turned our heads to the wall, which made my wife cough. The room did come with a very small microwave and a fridge. The fridge door was bent and didn't close without slamming it into the wooden desk in which it was placed. There were no vending machines upstairs, just a few snacks and drinks placed for sale in the lobby. Breakfast was as expected for the price point and was not bad. It appears bacon is on the menu, but it was gone at 7:30 when we ate. Sausage was good though. A decent breakfast is all that saved my review from being a one star review. Overall, this motel seemed like a relic of the 1970's into which very little money or effort has been placed. Ice machine was dirty and smelled of mildew. Black mold along edges of ceiling. The lobby is nice and modern, but the improvements stop there. It is run down, worn out and dingy. The ice machine had an odd musty smell and black mold could be seen in the corners of the room. Breakfast was actually pretty good and the only reason I am giving this experience two stars. Bacon was gone by the time we got there at 7:30, which was a disappointment. This room was priced just above mid point. I paid $113 plus tax for it. It wasn't in the bargain basement "roach" motel prices, neither was it a $209 premium room at a five star establishment. We had a double room, the beds had stains on the bed cover, and there was a roach on the curtain but he was nice and there was only one. The bathroom was absolutely filthy, the tub was very dirty, with mold and filth in the corners and the drain looked gross too. Trash was overflowing on our floor by the elevators as well. We've stayed here previously, that was before all the construction took place a few years ago and at that time, the hotel was really nice. Then the next time we stayed, we got a room during what was the start of construction on the same floor, so we asked for a room change. The next year, (instead of being smart enough to call and ask), I assumed the work was completed and booked a room there again. When we showed up, the front parking lot was mostly closed off and workers were doing work in the parking lot and the outside of the hotel - after what we had been through the previous time, I called from outside the hotel and cancelled our room that night. Forward to May, 2021 - this time around, I called to make sure all the work was over, they said it was completed, so I made a reservation online and used 10,000 points of my Choice Privileges account to stay on May 22, 2021. Being a very light sleeper, I always request a top floor, and not near the elevator or stairways, and even called the day before to verify that - all was supposedly fine with that. We were a little early when checking in on May 22, and we do appreciate them letting us check in early. However, when the guy at the desk looked, he said the room we were going to be in was no longer open because those people decided to stay another night. So, was it a sell-out night because out of all the rooms on the 4th floor, the only room that was available was closest to the elevator? The elevator was, however off-set so we were not directly across from the elevator and thought it might be okay...well, the elevator was the least of the problems. Shortly after we got in the room a little after 2pm, some screaming kid in the next room came through loud and clear. After hearing this for a little while, (and not wanting to hear this all night), I went back down to the front desk and a different person was there. I told him that first off, we didn't want a room by the elevator and said although that may not really be a problem, the screamer next to us would be if it continued during the night. He said I could check back in about an hour as he didn't have the sheet from the cleaning crew to show what room would be available to move to. I asked if he could call the cleaning crew - they seemed to be done, were no longer on the 4th floor and should know what rooms were available...he didn't even make the effort to do so. I said we had to leave before his "check with me in an hour", but on our way out, I asked one more time if he heard from the cleaning crew - his response was again "no". A simple enough call to make, but it seemed to be too much trouble for him to contact them. We returned to the room that night about 9pm. One good thing was, we didn't hear the kid screaming and actually slept pretty good...UNTIL 7am! Though this kid wasn't screaming, whatever he was banging on woke us both up. So, now awake, I walked down to get us a coffee and when I came back, my husband said the kid started screaming again so my husband turned up the TV loud enough to try and cover up the annoyance. Back-tracking to returning to the room on 5/22 about 9pm - the parking lot was pretty empty and unless they had a mad rush after 9pm, it appeared they were not sold out. The next morning, 5/23, 2 cleaning girls knocked on the door at 9am. I asked them if the hotel was full last night, one said that when she left, it didn't seem full but she didn't know if any checked in after that. At 7am, I looked out and the parking lot was hardly full. After months, (probably more like years of renovations), this hotel STILL needs a lot of work. The paint job outside the elevators as well as inside the room is pretty sloppy. There's a crack in the ceiling/wall all the way across and above the TV. The drain in the tub - 20 minutes after showering, 2-3 inches of water still in the tub. Most other Choice hotels have 4 bath, hand and face towels in the bathroom, this one had 2 of each, (glad I didn't have to wash the hair). And, if you want a quiet place, this is NOT it - the walls are paper-thin, you hear everything from the next room. I've been a Choice Privileges member since 2005-using points and not paying a room amount on a Saturday night was no reason to get the unappreciative attitude that I felt we got. It's also odd that every Choice Hotel we've stayed in over the past 6 months has offered a complimentary water and snack for being a 'Platinum' member - at this hotel, there was no offer, not even an acknowledgement or a "thank you" for being a Choice member"...that's really a lack of "customer service". We mostly travel for business and build up a lot of Choice points - I wasted 10,000 points on this hotel and some of those points should really be put back on my account but I don't think they'd be that courteous. But, that's okay - gave them yet another chance, but lesson learned - booking here again will NEVER happen! read more

Only thing good about this place is that the bed is comfortable. I booked here because of the outdoor pool. I'm traveling with my 3 kids.. bringing the oldest to college. I only needed to stay one night but decided to make a weekend of it and let the kids have fun swimming, so I booked 4 nights. When I arrived I found out the pool was not useable. The front desk told me that there was an accident 2 weeks before which rendered the pool unusable. Note: the website is still advertising that there is an outdoor pool! No compensation for this. The windows look like they have never been cleaned. Water not very hot in shower. Breakfast was barely warm eggs and sausage. Construction going on at front entrance resulting in side door being unlocked even at night which I feel is a security issue. I won't book at any comfort inn again unless it's the ONLY choice. read more

The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the room appeared clean with amenities described. Had booked a double with queen sized beds but they actually were full size. This place has been a mainstay of ours for business trips for three straight years. However, we just had a horrible experience here and I could not wait to write this review. We checked in and the person at the front desk was super polite (black woman) and it was because of her that I'm even giving this a two star review instead of a one. After she left, we came back to a guy (white). We've had white front desk people here before with no issues, so I don't want this to be conflated as just a race issue. He seemed like he wanted to question us soon as we walked in, which made me curious but I just took it as he's new so he probably wanted to check us in before we walked in towards our room. However, About 20 minutes into being in our room, we get a call that we are being loud (my brother picked up, not I), and he said we would keep it down. Now keep in mind that we were not partying or anything, just getting ready to go back out and laughing at memories we were discussing. However, less than 5 minutes after the initial call, we get another call from this guy saying that if we were not quite, he would call the police, which left me dumbfounded because there literally was not that much of a gap between the two, 1. 2, we were being just as laughable as we were before And 3, rarely does someone threaten to call the police on you for being loud in a hotel unless you are breaking the law or aren't listening to them repeatedly and they can't get you to leave themselves. It made me so mad that I just told the guys to just let us leave. We left and he was looking at us the entire time. When we returned it was the same thing and we just went straight to sleep, out of fear of even making another noise for the police to be called on us, and retelling this story I've decided to downgrade them back to a 1, that's how annoyed I am. read more

We stayed at this Comfort Inn for two nights this week for a local basketball tournament. At first I was quite hesitant with very reasonable rates I was concerned this hotel would be old and outdated. I was very happy to find a newly updated hotel in a great location with excellent service! The new owners (nice people) have clearly worked hard to update this hotel. My fiance and I had stayed in this hotel for 4 days while he was in Binghamton for work. The room was pretty unimpressive on it's own merits. But the staff was a nightmare. While he was at work and I was alone in the room, I left the "Do not disturb" signs up because I was alone and did not feel comfortable with anybody coming into the room. Despite the sign being on the door, a staff member walked into the room (not just opened the door, but walked entirely into the room past the bathroom and where the bed is), and didnt take notice to me until I said "excuse me". They then turned and left. Upon departing, the cleaning staff was incredibly rude. There were 4 individuals waiting outside of our door when we were trying to leave, further making the stay uncomfortable. I had noticed them there, and wanted to make it out in one trip. I was having a hard time keeping our luggage stable on the cart, so I used some of the pillows to prop everything up. As we were walking out of the room, one of the cleaning ladies grabbed our cart and pushed it out of her way. We were loading our car, and the front desk lady was watching us, pretending to sweep. The pillows from the room were clearly on the cart. She called me over and blatantly accused me of stealing them. They had not even left the building. I told her that we were not stealing them, that we had used them to hold our belongings up. She was incredibly rude. Being that she was staring at us (so uncomfortable), she watched my fiance enter the elevator with them, and exit without them. Due to our uncomfortable encounter with the cleaning staff, he did not go down the hall to put them in the room, but instead propped them against the wall in the hallway. Simply to avoid another uncomfortable experience, and not get in anybody's way. He advised the lady from the front desk of this. We went on our way. Fast forward, my fiance was advised that the hotel and its owner (who we know to be "Jay"), have billed his employer for "stolen property" and an investigation ensued. His job was on the line. He attempted to reach out to the hotel, and asked to speak with "Jay" on multiple occasions. The staff was rude and not very compliant with the request. He eventually did get ahold of him though, and explained what happened and where he left him. "Jay" advised my fiance that "if they are in the building, we will find them." Fast forward again. My fiance is notified that the hotel and "Jay" were not budging on the "stolen property" charges, and he was consequently let go from his job. This morning, he attempted to reach out to "Jay" to inquire about video footage. We were advised that there is not a camera facing the hallway where the pillows were left, but there is one facing the elevators. Where, had the footage been reviewed, would have shown him entering the elevator with them, and exiting without them. Walking out of the building without them. "Jay" became incredibly irate, and proceeded to say things such as "I do not care", "this is your problem, not mine" and just generally being rude while my fiance was remaining calm and cordial. He essentially said that he didn't care to review the footage because his (rude) staff "told him they watched him take them". And didn't care that he lost his job because of this incident. My fiance asked him if he would be so kind as to email him a copy of the video of him entering and exiting the elevator, at which point "Jay" hung up on him (I heard the phone slam). If you stay at this hotel, I warn you to be careful. The owner is a leech, the staff are a nightmare, and it's not a place that is worth the trouble. It's very clear that "Jay" is utilizing this as an opportunity to make a quick buck. And my family has lost our livelihood right before the holiday. read more

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Nicole from the front desk is VERY rude and problematic as well as Luigi. They both act nice but when you don't do things their way they start making smart comments. My family and I are very clean and they kept saying we smelled like shit. Nicole kept purposely coming over near us and spraying when the lobby in there always smells as you can see from other reviews. They purposely give you stained up sheets (more proof in other reviews) so they can charge you $300 for it because you "damaged" it. When we got to our room the sheets had yellow stuff on them and yesterday when I checked out Nicole made up a lie saying it wasn't there so I had to pay $300 for it. Other workers there are rude, stuck up and talk about their guests. On February 18th when we were waiting to check in Nicole said "yea move the candle we do have some dumb guests". Use your money somewhere else. Also they gave my room away after I said I was coming back down to add another week. Horrible hotel and dirty! read more

Their hotel is disgusting. The room and hallways had a unpleasant odor. Their was soap scum and mildew in the shower. The door would not close properly unless you shoved it with your shoulder. The pool was filthy and the liner is falling apart. There was mold in the ice machine room on the ceiling and the wall. They had tape holding up trim in the hallway. The person who checked us in had a bad attitude the second we walked in. We had paid for two nights in advance for our booking online, we stayed one night as we had no other option available, asked for a refund for the second night, which they refused. We still paid for a hotel room at a different location rather than stay there again. I highly recommend NEVER staying there. read more
