We unexpectedly had to travel to the Scranton area 2 get married under some difficult family circumstances with my father-in-law ill at the time. I wanted to make our wedding night something special despite the fact that it was not as planned. The owner was able, on short notice, to make arrangements to have a small wedding cake in our room, and had sparkling cider ready for us when we returned from exchanging our vows. The Silo room is the honeymoon suite of this location. A multi floor Suite with Gorgeous views, the Silo Room has a separate area with couch and television, as well as a oversized bathroom with whirlpool tub. A small kitchenette with coffee or tea making supplies, a small fridge and microwave made this a mini home away from home. One of the minor but strange things about this location is the door between the bathroom and the bedroom in The Silo room only has lace. You can look directly from the toilet to the bedroom, so if you are sharing that room with someone make sure there aren't any secrets between you! Breakfast was simple fare, but fresh and plentiful. Our order was taken the night before and everything was ready when we came downstairs. We had an omelet with ham and cheese, plenty of toast and muffins, and hot tea . If you like train memorabilia, this place is the spot for you. The owner has a mind-boggling assortment of miniature trains, antiques, signs and collectibles. There are other buildings in the Red Barn Village complex, including a retro store, a market, and mini golf. We did not get a chance to experience those, and we may need to do so next time. There will definitely be a next time, the owner here cares about his customers and it shows.

It was such a peaceful and pleasant way to relax. Inside I was well cared for by friendly hosts. Meeting other guests and chatting with the owners made it even enjoyable! My Fainting Goat room was so comfortable and amazingly spacious and uniquely decorated. I so enjoyed having my early morning coffee and cinnamon bun on the balcony. I loved the bird serenade as I watched the geese and ducks floating by on the river. So peaceful!!! I hope that anyone who wants more than a hotel bed wool trust in staying at the Fainting Goat Island Inn. I sincerely appreciated gaining this marvelous, memorable experience!

They all returned snd parents let the kids jump over us, splash and take over the entire pool. They left toys and floats strewn around the area when they finally left. Wont make this mistake again. It was graduation weekend, and they did not jack up the rate. The breakfast part is NOT FRESH. Food items were provided to us that were MONTHS past the best used by dates. We ate unknowingly and ran to the bathroom a lot. When my wife brought it to the owner's attention, she got a text saying they freeze food to preserve it. Nothing was even offered to even resolve the situation. These items were out for at least 3 days. The non diary creamers, bagels, English muffins and pastries should not have been offered in that condition. There was also old food left in one of the fridges that smelled horrible. Being restaurant owners, they should have done better.
