Staff is still wonderful the breakfast is the same, the pool area is well maintained and the rooms are still clean and spacious. The one thing that has changed is the internet; it is terrible. It is slow, intermittent and requires you to sign in 3 to 4 times a day. If you require internet for business or streaming at the end of the day then this may not be the hotel for you. read more

The only good thing about this place was the location and the breakfast. The beds are hard and very noisy. I think the springs are busted. And the shower is awful. Barely any water pressure. If you're a woman, you definitely CAN'T wash your hair. I had to go to a salon just to get my hair washed. They lied about their pool being heated. The water is cold, inside a heated room. The 3rd floor hallway feels like there are small holes underneath the carpet. And someone on that floor was smoking weed. The smell was horrendous. Oh, and their elevator registration is expired. This is the closest hotel to the Augusta Transportation Center, which is the top selling point. Since I didn't drive to Augusta, and it's difficult to get an Uber or cab, I needed a hotel within walking distance. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a larger room, which I really appreciated. The breakfast spread is very small, but I liked how fresh fried eggs were continually brought out without waiting for the previous eggs to be finished. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my short stay. There is also a restaurant right next door, and a Wendy's across the street. Both come in handy if you are there without a car. I'll definitely go back next time in Augusta. read more

Yes there were a few minor things when we got to hotel WiFi down couldn't check in right away, elevator broken, and no pool. Three stars is A-OK, and it wasn't quite that way. I had no hand in making the reservation, my co-worker took it upon herself to do that based on recommendations from our hosts. I ended up on the first floor because she wanted to be on the first floor (senior citizen with joint problems), but I usually like high floors. When it rains, it pours, and when it does, don't count on the Direct TV to work. Thankfully there was a 99 Restaurant next door where I could get a drink for happy hour. There was free WiFi, a mini fridge, and microwave in the room. If you need toiletries like toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, and shave cream, you can ask for it at the front counter. However, you must get up very early to get a copy of the USA Today because early birds (military? business?) seem to check out around 4:30 AM. Breakfast is served from 6-9 AM with continental breakfast. There is a computer and printer in the lobby, along with coffee and a water cooler/heater to make tea. read more

I visit my 8-year-old granddaughter in Augusta from the Boston area, a 2 1/2 hour drive. I usually go to Homewood Suites but it's just too expensive so I chose Comfort Inn because of its location and amenities, including a pool and continental breakfast. I was first disappointed that the ATM didn't work but that's not why I was there. Before I went to pick up my granddaughter I asked where the pool was to be told it was not working. They have my email and my phone number but never notified me about this. I then had to tell my granddaughter that she would not be swimming, something she looks forward to when I visit. I was also disappomted with their continental breakfast. There were no hot items at all. I won't go back. read more

Stayed in this place for 2 nights, for an interview at a nearby hospital. I had a great experience. The members of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room I got was in the first floor. The room and the bathroom were clean. They have a complimentary fridge and microwave (which I didn't use because I didn't need to). They have most of the basic stuff one would expect from a hotel. The Wi-fi was free, and while it wasn't blazingly fast, it was adequate. They had a computer at the lobby where you could print documents if you need to. I didn't get to try their pool or their hot tub, so I couldn't comment on t hem. The hotel itself is very near the Marketplace at Augusta, which has a bunch of restaurants, shops and some cinemas. Downtown Augusta is less than 15 minutes away by car. read more

I had a reservation for one night. when we checked in my wife checked the bed as she always does. there was not a mattress pad, only a bottom sheet. I asked to have this fixed. the clerk said he would get someone to put a mattress pad on. after waiting a while I checked to learn they had no mattress pads available. the clerk offered to move us which we agreed to. when we got there we determined it had no mattress pad either. I went back to the clerk who said he would check another room, so I waited. eventually he came back indicating none of the rooms he checked had mattress pads. I asked to speak to the manager. the clerk went into the back and I assume called the manager who must have been offsite and I never saw or spoke to. the clerk advised I could find another hotel and they would give my money back. I called a nearby Hampton inn, packed up all our stuff, loaded it back into the car and went to the Hampton. the clerk at the choice hotel seemed most relieved to get rid of me. I have had a choice membership for years and used the choice visa often. I'm done with them over this and then the poor way the corporate people ended up handling my complaint that followed. read more

I'm in the process of re-writing one of my travel journals from my tours with The St. Petersburg State Ice Ballet, back in 1997. From what I see in these most recent reviews, not much has changed. I do hope to come back soon for a longer stay. 22nd - We stay at a Comfort Inn in Augusta, ME. We've gotten far enough north that there isn't much traffic at all. It was maybe 4:00 when traffic disappeared. We also encountered the occasional bit of snowfall, but not much. The temperature is down to 11º. This motel is furnished in colonial style. My room has nice looking wood fixtures. It'd be a nice place to stay for a while. read more

I think this was the first time I've ever stayed in a Comfort Inn. I was a little leery because I usually choose a brand I know well and trust. In a pinch, this place was just what I needed! It was cheap ($69/night from a hotel coupon catalog), clean, and had friendly service. The king size bed was large, tv worked, and there was a pool and complimentary breakfast. However, it smelled smokey, even in the non-smoking rooms. It's not my ideal hotel, but it is good value and I would stay there again. read more

Ok. I really wish I could give this place five stars... but we were very disappointed about one thing. The main reason why we booked this hotel was because it had an indoor pool. We booked the hotel about 10 days before our trip and no one told us it was down. (We booked it over the phone). We come to check in the day of our stay and we are told it's closed. I tried to book another room at the other hotel with an indoor pool nearby but since it was that day we needed a room, the price had more than doubled. At this point, we had already been charged for the room at C.I. the morning of our check-in day. So I'd have to fight for a refund from Comfort Inn and then pay more than double the normal rate for the other hotel. We were not happy about this. The price we paid said that all these amenities were included. The pool was down, the one thing we came for... and no one even offered some sort of compensation for that. This was our first trip to Maine and we fell in love with the state. This is a place we plan on visiting more often now and since this hotel did nothing to try and make up for the issue we had... we will most likely be taking our hotel stays in Agusta to another hotel. Other than that... staff were all very friendly, room was clean and it was a good location right off of the highway. And now that I read more reviews on Facebook... I saw that the pool had been closed WEEKS before we booked our room OVER THE PHONE WITH THE FRONT DESK and no one thought to mention one of their main amenities would be closed? NOT OK. * make sure cleaning staff uses a CLEAN rag to clean the mirrors. It was evident they used a dirty one. Also, have them completely clean out the coffee makers in the rooms. I went to make coffee and it was DISGUSTING to say the least. I wound up walking in the rain across the street to the gas station to get us coffee. read more

I'm confused about the positive rating for this hotel on Yelp. I found it to be a bit of an armpit. The only reason that I'm giving it a star at all is because of the breakfast experience. The food was enjoyable and Brenda (the sfaff person on breakfast duty) was simply wonderful! Now, she I would give 5 stars! The room was not very clean. It seemed that housekeeping just made the bed and organized the toiletries in the bathroom. My bathroom sink had a slow drain (which looked like it wasn't cleaned my entire 3 night stay). I ended up there because my reservation was mistakenly canceled at another hotel and I couldn't find another affordable room in the area. I FIRST must say that the 2 receptionist that made my stay great were "Sara" who hooked me up with my room- & "Michael" that was also courteous & professional in handling my reservation..Sara had put in a room that was by far 1 of the best rooms I've stayed in while on the road!!! Room had everything one would need including a sofa-flat screen T.V. that was like one you would find in a home!! Also fridge&micro was very nice& iron board& iron..The Bed I didn't want to leave!!! Extremely comfortable..Anyone in the area visiting I strongly recommend to visit this suite!!! Also want to add folks that if you want a Great cup of coffee then please see Lauren!!!! I give them a 2 only because in the end they refunded some of the money. To start with a AAA discount the room was $86.50 a night. This is in the middle of Maine in January. I'd hate to see what they charge in July or August. The room was gross when we got there. Nothing was wiped down from the previous guests as you could see the water marks on all of the surfaces. The tray the ice bucket was dirty as well as the placard signs they put in the room and the tip envelope itself had something crusted on it. Pretty ironic if you ask me. So the second night the TV went out for almost an hour. When I inquired at the front desk about the issue the reaction from the lady at the counter was almost as if I was bothering them. How dare I want things to work for almost $100 a night. It was only after I mentioned the dirty room (did I mention we had to ask for toilet paper?) did she show any kind of remorse for our experience. She said she'd leave a note for the morning person and I returned to my room. Upon entering the hotel you see signs with an assurance that there is no smoking anywhere in the building right down to a coined catchphrase "Breathe Easy" yet when we took the kids to the pool which is located alongside the workout room in the basement the entire basement which is where most of the employee only rooms like the laundry room and most likely janitor rooms were stunk like cigarettes. It should have smelt like chlorine and clean laundry. When we went to check out we made mention of these issues. To pay $200 for that experience is insane considering we could have stayed at a far nicer hotel in that same area for just about the same money. At first they offered a reduction of $20 a night and in the end we settled on a reduction of $35 a night. Not before being told we should have addressed it upon arrival. No the room should have been clean, staff should have been more friendly when asked about issues with amenities, and the policies advertised around the place should have been upheld. All in all I don't think I'll ever go back. read more

I stayed at the Comfort Inn purely by accident ( I was tired from driving and thought it was the Quality Inn - got off on the wrong exit) Thankfully I did. I am very impressed with the fast friendly service from the front desk. The clean room and hot free breakfast. The pool and Hot tub were very relaxing and you could tell you came 1st at this hotel. I needed a bed on wheels and the head housekeeper guy stopped what he was doing and assisted me and my family right away. He also recommended some budget places to eat and a great place to take the kiddos We went to an animal sanctuary about 15 - 20 minutes away he was right on with outings to do and good places to eat and directions you could tell he knew what he was talking about. Am very impressed and grateful I took the wrong exit and landed at your hotel. I will definitely. be back and can not wait for our next adventure read more

We stayed at this hotel and had a large amount of cash stolen out of our suitcase. Although it was stupid to leave the cash in our suitcase, one would assume that your belongings are secure in a hotel room in Augusta, ME. We did make out a police report and the only people proven to enter our room while we stayed at 'the Comfort Inn was the housekeepers and ourselves according to the police. My family had no power this last outage comfort inn civic drive Augusta Maine only one with room now I know why worst costumer service I ever got from desk clerk Victoria she literally screamed at me and when I toyed to ask a question about my bill she didn't even give me chance to ask she yelled over me rooms was clean but when asked 3 times for extra towels for shower and never got them . Had to go to store and buy my own shampoo and soap cause never got extra of that eather. Would of been better off staying in the cold with the way the desk clerk Victoria treats people not highly recommended for anyone to stay there as long as she works there she definitely does not no how to treat paying customers at over 143. Dollars a night definitely should not have to put up with this type of service I do a lot of traveling and have always stayed at comfort inns 1st time at this one definitely the last as long as she works there she has definitely ruined any positive out look I did have for comfort inn not recommended for anyone if she at the desk and it's last place available RUN it's not worth the stress I no I definitely won't give them another try if she's there and I definitely will not recommend to any off my airline coworkers or trucking friends. read more
