I stay in hotels 100 nights a year, and am a Marriott guy. This is the nearest to Acadia, and I've stayed here a couple times. Since Fairfield is a budget brand, expectations are lower than a full-service hotel. Check in was efficient and we were upgraded to a king suite. The room was clean and reasonably well appointed. Breakfast in the morning was free and one of the better ones I've had in a budget hotel. Several reasonable options and they didn't run out of anything except coffee. That was quickly remedied. First room I got the mattress springs could be felt, so I pulled off the sheets and the tag says the mattress is 18 years old. Gentleman at the front desk offered me another room and informed me he just checks people in. Not a problem solver. Well, the second room had a wastebasket upside down with a blower fan sitting on it. Third room the mattress also feels very old and the manufacturer tag is missing. The blanket is so long it hangs on the floor. I untuck my bed to sleep, I have no where to go with this huge blanket and I'm the last room in the hall furthest from the elevator. I don't like that when I am traveling alone. One of the most important things is having a comfortable bed for a good nights rest. A night here costs almost $300 and it has an 18year old mattress. That is just to old for home or commercial use. This place was clean so props to housekeeping. I am not looking forward to going to bed on this awful mattress. The Good: We checked in late and were met with a sharp and clean lobby decorated in bright vibrant colors. The place was warm and inviting and smelled like a new car. The overnight man looked wide awake and was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and it was evident that housekeeping took pride in their work. The kitchen staff and the morning staff were very friendly and professional. Everyone's outfits were clean and they were sharply dressed. Someone printed the day's weather and hung on a clipboard mounted in the elevator. While most have smartphones and this is unnecessary, I thought it to be a nice gesture that added a personal touch. The Not So Good: There wasn't a glaring issue, but rather, there were many small issues that have me wondering why the 8.8 rating on some sites. First, the electric is outdated. There is not a single USB port found on any surface or fixture. I could not stay here if I had to work in the area. It is just too inconvenient. The room is stuck in 1980. Second, the tub had a minor repair and, like a review I had read prior to my arrival, had a stopper that prevented taking a bath. I like to soak my bones, but no luck. I thought to myself, what are the odds that the reviewer also stayed in room 207? Third, the bed was rather bouncy. I looked for a more professional description, but "bouncy" is the best fit. If you have a few extra pounds and roll over, after the roll, the bed will complain and keep moving. Fourth, the door sagged at a slight 88° angle and produced a gap that was about 1/8" away from seeing into the hall. I've traveled a bit, and had not seen a metal door in a metal frame have sagging to this degree. Fifth, the breakfast, something else I look forward to, was terrible. The "sausage" patty was thin and the meat was somewhere between pork, turkey, and mystery meat. It was flavorless and rubbery. The eggs reminded me of boot camp. I couldn't stomach the food that was served. Sixth, there is only one small nightstand provided for two beds and most of the real estate is taken up by a lamp base. If you have four people in the room, there is just not enough horizontal surfaces in the room design. Overall: I'm torn about how to rate this, but in the end, there are just too many details to make this a place to avoid in the future or until they undergo a remodel. I chose this hotel specifically because of it being part of the Marriott brand, but left weary and mildly disappointed. For those who have given it very high ratings, they must not require USB ports, don't use nightstands, enjoy baths, nor like a good breakfast. read more

This place was a bit of a zoo... Invaded with kids and toddlers running around screaming..... Pool is really really small. No hot tub, no towels... Disappointing. But, breakfast (included) was really good! Better than most. Scrambled eggs, egg and sausage biscuit sandwiches, mini-quiches, and much more. Price was reasonable. I might go back some day. My wife booked a room for us for 4 nights last week. The hotel is a bit too much pet friendly, I saw dogs and their marks several times by the elevator entrance. I saw cockroach in our room and when I asked the manager the last time that room was treated for insects, I did not get a clear answer. Room is fine except that I can hear a tv blaring through one side of my room, a phone call blaring through the other side of my room, and a group of people talking outside (even though I'm on the third floor). Well, this was definitely a new hotel layout for me. Arrived into Augusta late at night. Checking in was a quick and easy process. When I swiped my key card into my hotel room on the first floor, there was a long narrow hallway (about 20 feet). Towards the end of the hallway is the restroom before you enter the room. I found it odd and a little creepy that all the drawers & closet was left open. I couldn't close the bottom of one of the two-drawer since the chair was forcefully cramped into a little corner. The ladies at breakfast were very friendly. Breakfast itself was meh. The hot foods section (eggs, sausage, ham) tasted like it had just been thawed and microwaved. Great selection of teas, variety of pastries and yogurts, etc. Free parking in the private lot. read more

I have stayed here before, during the crazy 2020 COVID year and it was pleasant. I needed to be in Maine for a day so decided to give it another try. I came in and because I'm disabled, sat to wait for the employee at the counter to finish with the current customer. I sat there for almost 15 minutes while they engaged in small talk for the employee to finally ask me "you all set ma'am?".....I stated I was waiting to check in. Wouldn't you know there was another employee in the back that could have helped me as soon as I walked in. Poor, just piss poor. I can't wait for the survey on this stay. I do have another stay scheduled here which will be canceled. This is no way to treat a titanium elite....or any customer. read more

The problem is all that ambiance and effort goes out the window when eating breakfast on paper plates and plastic spoons. Eggs soggy. Food prepackaged. Considering breakfast is often the last thing customers leave with, why not ensure a departure experience that matches the rest of your hotel? It is quite clear much thought and effort goes into every other detail here, which is the only reason it comes up as a concern. You stay at a Comfort Inn, your expectations match your experience: "Kids, I have to break it to you... you're eating generic Lucky Charms with plastic sporks today. Try not to choke on the plastic shrapnel, OK?" Here: "Kids you just slept in a clean room with professional staff, clean pool, fitness room, and cozy fireplace... Now let's dig into those soggy eggs and raisin bran!" Surely every decision like this is a corporate cost center, but even simply upgrading to forks that don't snap and plates that don't collapse would be a change in the right direction. read more

Yeah, there is a Marriott property in Augusta, and it is fairly new/modern and easy freeway access and plenty of free parking. The room I stayed was a typical/standard room with a king bed, and standard tub/shower bath. Room comes equipped with a small fridge, iron/ironing board, 40ish inch flatscreen TV. Breakfast is the typical Fairfield fare (cereal, bagels, juices, coffee/tea, and milk), and some fruit. If in the area, I would stay again. read more

My husband and I were traveling back from Montana and stayed here. Although the room was clean the front desk attendant was quite rude to my husband; he's a rewards member to the Marriott chain,normally he gets treated very well because he's the Marriott rewards ambassador I believe is what they call it. We had two very small puppies one is 14 years old and the other truly is six months old; and extremely well-behaved! Upon letting them know that we had them; is when the attendant or the front desk attendant became rude. So if you choose to stop here be aware you may get someone who's pierced from head to toe and has a chip on their shoulder an attitude that is unpleasant. Don't recommend staying here! read more

Decent place to stay for business but on two separate occasions I asked for the TV in the breakfast area to be put on local news and staff didn't change it from Fox News. It's annoying to listen to political propaganda when I'm having breakfast, and being told "I've never learned how to change the TV" on two occasions is borderline weird. Convenient location, clean grounds, nice lobby and nice staff. Upon initial entry to the room, it was clean and well kept. Only a couple cosmetic items needed attention. Plenty of pillows and towels bigger than the average hotel towel. They supplied plenty of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soaps and lotion. Breakfast was subpar compared to other locations in the same chain. Breakfast opened at 7. We arrived at 7:30 and the bagels were hard as a rock, which leads me to believe they were from the previous day or beyond. They were not bagged or something. There was no cream cheese. Everyone has their own particular palate so I don't grade the hot food. Some would think it's great and some could think it's horrible. It's a personal preference on how eggs are cooked. There was no compote for the waffles. There was no donuts or muffins, but they had cereal, oatmeal, juice, bread, etc. I do NOT waste food. The bagel was so stale that I threw it away. In summary, I would definitely go back, but I would bring my own breakfast or go out to breakfast. read more

No thank you. It was a very long and complicated check-in process, and we didn't even bother to stay here due to the receptionist's rude tone and attitude towards us and our payment. Call me nitpicky, but I would like some respect when I stay in a "nice" hotel. Place looked very generic in terms of decor but the staff being rude didn't help anything. read more
