Let me tell you this much Brock, the front desk guy, is the best dude that ever worked at a hotel. Brock has made this hotel both a great place to stay and a home. There is nothing he doesn't think of. If knows when you need to be at work he will wake you up. He'll even make you a breakfast plate if you didn't eat. Brock knows his guests and caters to there needs in every conceivable(legal) fashion. There are lots of hotels to stay at but the service here is the BEST. DO NOT STAY HERE! Passing through they had the only available room. All other lodgings were sold out. The bed in 206 is so old and sagging that it sags IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. I expected a bed newer than 1990 and clean accommodations. I found neither. Bad, bad, bad experience. :-( read more

This is a great place to stay if you want to get kidnapped or murdered. They'll give you a key to any room without asking who you are and will give strangers a key to your room. The front desk gave a group of strangers teenage boys a key to our room. There was a cockroach in our room and the front desk was unbothered. Coffee is a hot commodity and not always available in the mornings. The hotel is also weirdly humid. Stay somewhere else. read more

I made a reservation here to stay because of a good friend's wedding. Unfortunately, my father became ill and had to go into Hospice They have refused to refund my money, $167. The lack of compassion and the greed for money is extremely evident. This place only gets two stars. In my opinion it gets zero please don't stay here and boycott this place. This is a one-night stay review, and why I give it an honest 5 stars. The place was exceptionally clean and the bed was amazingly SO comfortable. I slept like a rock. Nothing this because it was so nice that the motel at night was so quiet. I would definitely stay here again if all the nights could be like it was last night! That being said. The breakfast room offers the choices we all come to expect at most motels. I did have time this morning to partake of some of the food, and it was hot and tasted good. The two people I interacted with at the front desk, both checking in and out, were very friendly and courteous and had great personalities. Price for my room was exactly what the Choice app stated it would be. No surprises for the bill. read more

For almost $350 a night I expected a nice hotel. I've never stayed at a choice hotel and never will again. Beat up furniture, stains on carpet and bedding and an overwhelming chlorine smell, even upstairs and at the other end of the building from the pool. The TV is tiny with an unusable guide that appears every 20 channels and each guide only does 20 channels...or something. It was dumb. read more

The positives; price, a wonderful large spa bath tub, friendly & helpful staff on all shifts, breakfast was fine but did the trick. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we had a bad feeling about this place. It's not that we were expecting a five star hotel, but at $140 a night we had high hopes for a clean room and friendly staff. Well, we can take clean room off of the table. Why were the pillows so small? The caulking in the bathroom was black and green with mold and I don't think the tub had been cleaned for months. It was yucky, but we had important things going on and decided there were worse things in the world. At least until my husband went to the ice machine ... the broken ice machine. The ice machine that is part of the the $140 a night price. The one amenity we planned on using. The ice machine was broken and when my husband asked the maintenance man about it the maintenance man replied "sounds like a first world problem" . No it sounds like a Comfort Inn problem to me, and the maintenance guy could have been less rude and maybe point out a store close by where we could buy some. My family and I were in town for my mothers funeral...it would have been nice to at least have a clean,comfortable place to sleep. Not so much. read more

My husband and I stayed at this neat hotel on our way back from Yakima. This is not your typical Comfort Inn. It felt like a beautiful, modern property with a European charm added to it. We loved the friendliest staff, attention to every detail and need. You get a lot compared to the very reasonable rates they have. We are definitely coming back to enjoy it again!! read more

Not sure why this place has only 2.5 stars. Great location, right next to Sonic, friendly staff. OK so because of the Covid the pool, workout center, and morning breakfast won't be open. However the shower was great, the air conditioner worked great, the bed was so comfortable, everything was clean. Thank you for making our stay in Ellensburg. read more

In town for 1 night before my son toured CWU. Good value, room was clean, beds comfortable, and the breakfast was good too! Loved the pumpkin spice waffles! I also appreciated that the window in our room opened, I like cracking a window for fresh air and often 2nd story windows don't open. This one did! Also it was pretty quiet inside the hotel. A great place to stay on my trip from North Dakota to Seattle. The beds are very comfortable and surprisingly the rooms keep out the outside noise very well. The hallways were clean and the front desk person was very nice both on check out and on check in. They also except dogs which is a big plus for me as I travel with my dog. Now by no means is this your W hotel so don't expect it. It is a simple, basic, nice hotel, great for weekend stays with your pet. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the continental breakfast has a bit to be desired. read more

Let me start with the basics ... Ick, housekeeping is phoning it in and the room was musty (and I think we got one of the "remodeled" rooms). Now for the real ratings killer, we had a second floor room with a couple of heavy pieces of luggage and some smaller carry bags ... No elevator! So if your shacking up after a concert on your way to your home in Seattle this is a non issue. If you are actually traveling it's an exercise program at the end of a long day. Our toilet kept clogging and flooded bathroom. Loud noises after 1am with nobody taking responsibility to handle the matter. They ran out of food and there was nobody around to put out more food for breakfast. There was police who came by due to some drug activity and paraphernalia behind the hotel. Okay, let me just say that I have stayed here twice now for a training each October and this is one of the recommended hotels. The first time was fine, that's why I decided to stay there again. When I pulled up this time (10/09/14), there was obviously construction going on at the hotel...because the building materials were all around the outside of the hotel - marble counter tops, boxes of tile, boxes of furniture, packing materials (I could go on but I think you get the drift.) Okay, so they're remodeling, no biggie. It wasn't much to look at but the last time was good so I still had hope. I got my room key and was on the first floor, right around the corner from the front desk. Perfect...until I started down the hall. Again, boxes of lamps and remodel supplies in the hallway. Open the door to my room. At first blush the room looked great; you could tell the furniture was new, the bedding updated and great pillows. As I walked further in, I noticed that there were no handles on any of my furniture. I opened the curtains and my window was open a couple of inches propped closed by a stick. I tried to close it and it wouldn't shut. I tried to open it and it wouldn't open. I should've refused the room for my safety but as I had a monster headache and there was a stick to impede opening the window any further, I decided to take it. The wall color was lovely but there were large white patches where you could tell the old, shorter headboard had been. Went into the bathroom. The shower curtain rod was barely held on the wall. The towel bar was the same. The towel rack over the toilet where all the towels were was the same as well. I was afraid to pull the shower curtain closed because I didn't want the bar to fall off the wall. I wanted to watch tv and go to sleep. I turned off the light with the switch by the door and the tv went to static. I turned the light back on and the tv cleared up. Off, static. On, watching my favorite show. Swell... The gist of this is, I will stay elsewhere next year for my training in Ellensburg. The cost may be higher but at least I won't be paying $91 for a room that shouldn't have been sold at all. read more

So, I rented a room here for my family since I was here on business. We rented a suite (the only room left), and the sink was broken and didn't drain well. In my room (the one paid for the business trip), the toilet leaked and there were other plumbing problems. Never going to stay here again. read more

We stayed on one of the 'remodeled rooms'. It had a very stale odor. Our ac was broken, and based on the stale odor in the room, I am pretty sure it had been some time since there was any fresh air in that room. Overnight clerk did offer to 'call maintenance In the morning'. Since we were checking out the next day, that clearly was not a good option. No fans available from the front desk. Maintenance did show up (and for the record, was gracious, especially considering how late it was). No working ac, and also no elevator. So if you are staying on the second floor, be ready to be a pack mule to carry luggage upstairs. Several other options available in Ellensburg, so if you are at the Gorge for a concert, select another one of those options! read more

You have to know what to expect from a Comfort Inn off a major freeway. For that, it is a fine place to stay for the cost. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly. What really gets me is the fact that there is no elevator. I just feel like that is a pretty basic amenities. The room was nice and so was the staff. A little bit of miscommunication when checking in but nothing to get stressed out about. Breakfast was complimentary so that is nice too. Good variety of food to pick out from. They have a waffle machine so you can make your own waffles. The indoor pool is nice, hot tub EXTREMELY hot. The tile in the pool area is very slippery. It looks like they are going through a renovation. Check out at 11 so that works out nice for my family since getting it together in the morning is chaotic! Stayed here last night for a work related training I had in the morning at CWU. The room was Ok, it was clean and quiet but the lack of an elevator in this hotel blows my mind. I was only staying for one night and had an overnight bag and some odds and ends to bring into my second floor room but I can only imagine some one traveling with a small child or multiple children how inconvenient that could be. My room had a microwave but no refrigerator although there was an obvious opening in the cabinet where there was suppose to be one. Overall I'd recommend staying somewhere nicer, luckily for me my work is reimbursing me for the stay, next year I'll be staying somewhere else in town. read more

I've stayed here a couple of times while visiting some friends and relatives that go to CWU and this location does not disappoint. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast simply gets the job done! In general, I would recommend this place if you are staying in the area or if you need a place to crash for the evening while you're driving through the area. Hotel is in a great location and you are able to walk to restaurants and bars if you want to. In general, I think Comfort Inn's are great places to stay and really haven't had a bad experience. read more

Stayed at this hotel while in town for a conference. The rest of the conference was at a different hotel in town, and when we started comparing features, it was obvious I had made the better choice. First off, the room is comfortable and clean. Bed is firm, but clean and come with lots of pillows to arrange to make it comfortable. The room comes with breakfast, which was better than average. Sausages, eggs, and waffles makes a good start to a long day. and the free WiFi connected right off the start, with solid signal. Couple of issues that kept the review lower - 1. The room is advertised as having a safe, and comes with a safe, but the key is missing so you can;t use the safe. Had to change rooms to get a locking safe. 2. The breakfast space is really small, so hard to sit with a group of 4 people. Ended up taking the food out into the lobby. 3. The hotel is way off the street - I missed the entrance the first couple of times. 4. There is very poor noise insulation between rooms- I had to turn up my tv to block the conversation in the room next door. When I mentioned this to the desk clerk, she just shrugged and said that the whole hotel is that way. 5. The bathroom sink is really really really low down. I think this may have been a handicapped room, it was so low. Very strange and hard on the back when getting ready in the morning. read more

My husband and I have stayed at this place twice but only because there aren't that many motels in an area that we had to travel through. The rooms are good enough, but the attitude of the owners as relayed by the check-in clerk leaves a lot to be desired. The first time (March 2011), the clerk told us she was sorry she'd have to charge us the new, higher rate because the owners were planning to improve the breakfast, even though the improvements had not yet been made. The second time was May 2013. The clerk told us the owners had said not to give AARP or AAA or any other discount because there was a music festival in Ellensburg that weekend. So, our total bill out the door was $126.50, the most expensive of five motels we stayed at during our move from Colorado to Washington. My husband and I both had colds and were exhausted from driving a truck and pulling a trailer. Never again will we move and never again will we stay at the Comfort Inn in Ellensburg. read more

This hotel is filthy. I was in town with the family for the rodeo and I thought I was lucky to get a room in Ellensburg. Wrong. The blanket on my bed had someone else's hair all over it. Every corner of the room had dirt and hair accumulated. Breakfast was just as gross. The floors in the breakfast area were so sticky, the table we sat at was sticky and the garbage was over flowing. Real appetizing! The breakfast was your average selection of carbs and some frozen scrambled eggs. The front desk staff was nice, but the filthy conditions of this hotel were appalling. We have just had the worst hotel experience ever. Our family had been staying here for a few days, using the pool and having a nice stay. Today is our last day and we took the kids down to the pool. The door was locked so we asked the front desk attendant to help us unlock it. Her attitude while doing it was horrible and when we went in we noticed a strong chlorine smell. It being an indoor pool we thought it must be normal but after about 30 minutes our entire family started experiencing respiratory issues. I took my two youngest out to get showers and our oldest son stayed in a little longer. By the time I was done in the shower I came back downstairs and he was hacking coughing and saying he had a sore throat. I thought it would improve as we moved to fresh air but it did not improve. By this time I was getting nervous. I let the front desk attendant know and she was very rude about the whole issue. We left and took my son to the doctor because he was sounding like it was hard to catch his breath. Come to find out, he had crackling in his lungs and inflammation causing him to not be able to breathe normally. He had a treatment and they said he will improve over the next few days. My whole family is STILL experiencing respiratory symptoms hours after leaving the pool. We saw 2 staff members while we were in the pool and NO ONE told us that chemicals had recently been added or anything. The manager is not on duty during the weekend and have not been able to get in touch with corporate yet. This is not ok. This negligence has caused my son to be sick and our family to experience these symptoms. read more

I am not one of those people who goes to a two star hotel and then complains that he didn't get four star treatment. I know what to reasonably expect from a Comfort Inn and this fell below what I have experienced at other Comfort Inns and similar hotels. This location is starting to get a little run down. The carpet in the main hallway is stained and bunched up in places. While the room was clean, it felt rather dated. A few other complaints: no elevator to the second floor, no automatic entry doors (a pain with big luggage), strangely low sink counter and square pillows. read more
