Hotel had updated rooms, very pretty and comfortable. Beds, linens and pillows were all on par. We didn't have breakfast so no comment.

several reasons. The fridge had food left over from whoever stayed there before. There were also stains in the fridge, no one checked or cleaned it before we arrived. The remote was so dirty it left stains on my hand. My wife use a wipe and it came away black. No one had cleaned it for a very long time, if ever. The floor was not vacuumed, it was dirty. The check in process was smooth, quick, and friendly staff! The chilled lemon water in the afternoons was delicious for me and my kiddo The breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious! I had to check due to awful road conditions and all major roads were closed. Price was very reasonable and I was even given a military discount!! Room was clean, and bed was extremely comfortable!! My husband really likes to have a hot breakfast at any places we stay the night at. Comfort Inn appeared to have fit that bill. We were on I-77 so we had to drive a bit off the interstate to get to this place. From the outside it looked good, the room had a king bed and was comfortable. The bathroom though small but attractive. We even got a call maybe an hour after we checked in to see if everything was ok....nice. Come breakfast we go down stairs at the cafe near the door snd all the chairs were still up on each other just like when we checked in?!? Oh ....our hot breakfast was all packaged food you could warm up and take back to your room...really? The seating could have been spaced instead of walking with plate food, coffee, etc to the elevator back to our room, wasn't our idea of a hot breakfast! read more

Southern hospitality? Absent from the front desk clerk, Pam, when we checked in for a one night stay while visiting the charming Mount Airy. Otherwise I would give this Comfort Inn higher marks. It's clean, comfortable, and convenient. Breakfast was lukewarm. I used the microwave to heat up my plate. Perry, the desk clerk when we checked out, was at least personable. If you choose to stay here I hope you don't experience Pam at check in. She is not a friendly face to represent this hotel. read more

Needed a place to stay from our trip out of town. Me & my boyfriend rented this place online, went in to check in and cause we were within 43 miles of our home they wouldn't let us have the room we already paid for and THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK. Hospitality from hotel staff. That's the good part. The bad part of this hotel? The mold issue. Look at the windows. They're covered in black mold. There's mold damage in the bathrooms that was clearly painted over. There needs to be a health inspection done. After sleeping in this hotel I am having shallow breathing and i feel icky. This was my 3rd stay in a few years. It's convenient, quiet on the back side of the building, the beds are comfortable, the staff were fine (reflecting on other comments here), the breakfast was good. We had two rooms during the recent stay. The air handling system was musty in both rooms. The place could use a few touch ups to keep it in good repair. Two thumbs down for their cable TV provider: stations listed weren't present while others were duplicated and some smartass had placed a juvenile label on one news channel she/he apparently disapproved of. THis Comfort Inn in Mount airy,NC was as clean as a pin!! The Comfort Inn here in Mount Airy is it moderately priced clean and well-maintained facility. They've gone through some upgrades in the last few months and it shows how nice everything is. It's really handy to have that microwave and refrigerator in your room, and having laundry down the hall on the second floor where we stayed was quite handy. The breakfast is the usual not too exciting to me, but seems to feed everybody well. There were lots of bananas in of course I love my oatmeal. Would I stay here again very nice and handy so we could come visit our grand nieces. Anyway while you're in Mount Airy be sure you go to the Andy Griffith Museum for a chuckle. We had stayed at this hotel before and it was clean and well kept. When we arrived the lobby area was nice and we were treated well. As we pulled in to a parking spot near our room we noticed the yellow crime tape wrapped around the hand rail that had not been removed. When we got to the "non-smoking" room is smelled musty and heavy cigarette odor. We tried to turn on the AC and it didn't work. So, with that; we went back to the desk and checked out. This location is without a doubt, one of the best we've ever stayed in! The front desk staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. The rooms are well decorated, well prepared and comfortable. An indoor pool and workout facility was on site and impeccable. The morning breakfast was well stocked, hot and delicious. My family and myself couldn't be more pleased with our stay. This will definitely be on our list of favorite places to stay on our trips through the Carolinas in the future. Great job! read more

I came to Mayberry to visit family. Me and 1 adult family member checked in. Later my nephew came back to the room with us however before we could get on the elevator the manager came up to us verbally attacking me. He pointed at me and said if you smoke in the room I will put it on your card! I was shocked then he goes on to add in my guest must leave by 9:00. I told him I wasn't sure when he would leave. The manager then said he would need to charge my card extra for my guest and did so. And honestly the tub had hair in it, the A/C didn't work and I was miserable being there but he already charged my card. I would never stay there again. read more

Second stay here in a year. I figured we give one more chance, as we were told that the rooms have improved. This year, it was filthier than last and the smell was disgusting--even after running the air at a low temp. I also was injured and ignored by staff. When I told them I was hurt, I was asked with an attitude "what you want an ambulance or something". Terrible hotel and service at front desk. Safety is compromised but they do not care. read more

Dirty towels and hair from the last person in the bathroom. Garbage piled up outside. Next to an abandoned gas station. The staff at the continental breakfast never washed their hands, even after helping customers at the front desk. Only time this would be a good place to stay is at Halloween as it is scary dirty! read more

Clean, comfortable, and convenient! Whether you want to visit historic Mount Airy or spend the day enjoying the nearby mountains, this Comfort Inn is close to it all. The room we stayed in was clean and well-appointed, and I appreciated the option of just one bed with a small sitting area as opposed to the two-bed setup that's generally more prevalent. There was one small child who enjoyed running up and down the hall making outdoor levels of noise, but aside from that lapse in parenting the place was quiet overall. There's an elevator for convenient access to each of the three floors, plenty of parking, and amenities including wifi (which worked better in my brother's room than in ours, but was still reliable), television, a gym, and an indoor pool. The included breakfast options were unremarkable (cereal, nonfat yogurt, dry danishes, DIY waffle iron, lava-hot coffee or tea, apple and orange juices), but it's there if you need it; for dinner choices the Mexican restaurant across the street is fair, and there are plenty of restaurant and grocery choices close by. If you're looking for accommodations in the Mount Airy area, this is a solid choice! read more

I chose this hotel because it was an easy drive from Winston-Salem after attending a Football Game at Wake Forest University. I made my reservation through the Choice Website and check-in was quick. I stopped at the Hotel on my way to the game which was before the advertised check in time. It was a very nice surprise when the front desk clerk told me that my room was ready and was able to go ahead and check in. My king room was very spacious and not cramped like some rooms. The bed was very comfortable and will made. The free wireless internet worked very well during my entire visit. The breakfast area is some what small and can get crowded during peak times. The breakfast featured the usual waffles, cereals, eggs and a meat and gravy and biscuit, along with pastries, juice and coffee. It was well attended and clean during the advertised time. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and will consider this hotel again. read more

Have stayed at this hotel several times while on business trips to Mt. Airy, NC. First of all they are in a convenient location, right off of Hwy. 52. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. My room was very comfortable. There is a Mexican restaurant within walking distance and down town Mt. Airy is not far at all.
